Comment: The best I've heard from these two for a long while, a masterpiece. You need to own this.

Comment: 7L comes with the sickest beats and Esoteric gently drops deadly lines over them. The "Watch Me" beat is insane and the storytelling lyrics from terrorists cell are frightening. Once again a great album from this duo.

Comment: This is really my first opportunity to listen to a lot of 7L and Esoteric after reading so much about them. I've been trying to immerse myself in more underground than just my normal High and Mighty, Smut Peddlers, and Jedi Mind Tricks, and this was HOT. It’s hard to pick out one stand-out track due to most of the tracks being lyrically solid and musically catchy. Likin’ the originality on “Word Association” and “Herb” was blazin.

Comment: Anyone who does not appreciate what these guys have done truly don't represent the true hip-hop heads out there. Esoteric straight up rips the tracks apart. My personal favorite is "Rules of Engagement" which features J-Live. "It's like a never-ending struggle in this box of chocolates, to show that even though you got flava...ain't nuthin sweet." You have to appreciate the effort that went into this one, which in my mind, blows “Soul Purpose” outta the pond y'all.

Comment: “Dangerous Connection” is classic 7L and Esoteric. The track with Vinnie Paz on it is tight so I can't wait until the Army of the Pharaohs cd drops, and the new Jedi Mind. This cd is about 100 times better than Soul Purpose.” If you don't have it then go out and get it.

Comment: Yes, the follow-up to the disappointing (to some), “Soul Purpose,” debut is hot. Esoteric brings the heat with this while 7L's production is at its peak in my opinion.
Hottest Track: “Watch Me and Speak Now” –feat. Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks and Apathy -the appetizer for the possible upcoming “Army Of The Pharaohs” album.

Comment: Damn, this sh*t is hot! I've been a 7L & Esoteric fan since I first heard “Protocol.” I remember what an impact that joint had on my whole hip-hop taste and everything. It got me into Virtuoso and some other cats too. I just loved their style! When I heard about "The Soul Purpose" I was excited out of my pants, but as too often sh*t was mad disappointing. It had a couple of really dope tracks but also a lot of wack ones. “Dangerous Connection” is everything that the “Soul Purpose” was meant to be. This is Esoteric at his best with 7L as the main producer- including Stoupe production on one track. Nice! Vinnie Paz (Ikon) also shows up for a collabo with Apathy. This is the sh*t so get it!

Comment: 7L and Esoteric are definitely underground hip-hop, however they are not annoying backpack rappers. They don't rap about science, planets or the expansion of the mind through a higher conscious understanding of one's self, which is a good thing. This album is simply hip-hop beats that do not cater to the pop charts, and lyrics about their experiences in life, which is essentially what makes underground hip-hop better than the mainstream.

Comment: I seriously didn't expect such a comeback from 7L and Eso. The “Soul Purpose” was aight, but can't even come close to this. Cop it!
