Summary

Fast Cars, Danger, Fire And Knives is a limited edition EP featuring 7 brand new tracks along with an 88 page The Living Human Curiosity Sideshow book containing all the lyrics to Aesop's five Mush and Definitive Jux releases since Float. While the past few Aesop albums have sold over 50,000 units apiece, their have only been 25,000 copies of this EP pressed. To add to what is already a seriously blazing package, this album features production by Blockhead, Rob Sonic and Aesop Rock himself, along with guest spots by El-P, Camu Tao while Cage and Metro appear on the chorus front. Any Aesop fan...meaning anybody who's into abstract, poetic, advanced wordplay composing some of the most vivid narratives in hip-hop, absolutely needs to cop the key to Aesop's lyrical vault from UGHH.com before this sh*t sells out.

Comment: I never liked ya Aesop, your fables are wack, your delivery is wack, your breath control requires some mints, your rhymes suck, your voice tells me that you are soft in person, put a million words in one verse all stuck together and jumbled together why don't ya and the beats are lame, redundant and make me want to use this cd as an enema! My review is like your lyrics. Take a breath. Use a period! Wack!

Comment: This is exactly what you'd expect if you’re familiar with Aesop Rock, as it is quite similar to 'Bazooka Tooth', which I suppose isn't really a bad thing if that's what you like. The production is so - so most of the time, with only 2 or 3 tracks really shining out. Lyrically it is excellent. So I'd say it was good, but I wouldn't say it demanded a purchase and it probably won't keep fans of Aesop satisfied for very long.

Comment: Anyone that does not feel this EP or Aesop in general just isn’t the advanced listener. I saw Ace and Lif at Emos a few weeks back and can say there isn’t a better definition for hip hop. It’s the bonus round!

Comment: Once again, 90% of what he has to say makes absolutely no sense to me. Production is decent.

Comment: Another brain growing lyrics. Chaos lives in the ambient sounds, the beats are destructive and the melody is frantic and melancholia all the way through. I stay aware of fanatical tendencies to hear no wrong in Aesop Rock’s music. With that in mind I think it's another great AR album. Plus an 88 page lyric book that covers all of his lyrics since ‘Float’. I think that is worth the money alone.

Comment: For the most part it isn't really moving anywhere. And even for Acey, his lyrics seem to just ramble on. I'm a fan of his shit but damn, I'm not shelling out 'full length' loot to get a half-assed EP!
