    Summary

Connecticut's world famous rhyme wrecker returns with a warm hug and a deadly snakebite on his sophomore full length album, Wanna Snuggle? Apathy, known as lead MC of the indie fan favorite Demigodz clique as well as a member of Jedi Mind Tricks' Army of the Pharaohs crew, follows up 2006's well-received Babygrande Records Eastern Philosophy debut with a brand new masterpiece of 21 songs.

Painstaking lyricism, strangleholding mic presence, high caliber rap flows and upper echelon neck-snapping production round out this release in true Demigodzilla fashion. Some of the highlights include the uptempo "Shoot First", which is a Mike Shinoda produced track featuring the legendary B-Real (of Cypress Hill) and Celph Titled, as well as a collaboration with J-Live called "This Is The Formula". Little Brother's own Phonte makes a cameo on "True Love", and some soulful hooks are laced across the album courtesy of Chip-Fu (of Fu-Schnickens) and Wu-Tang vocalist Blue Raspberry. Also contributing a major factor to the album is singer Holly Brook, best known for Fort Minor's chart topping "Where'd You Go" single and video. Fort Minor, Get Busy Committee, Demigodz and AOTP family are definitely in full effect throughout the project, including Ryu (of Styles of Beyond), Motive, Emilio Lopez, King Magnetic, Veze Skante and more.

The bulk of production is handled by Apathy himself, who has been building up a production resume producing for Tiye Phoenix, Styles of Beyond, 7L & Esoteric, Eternia, and upcoming albums from Cypress Hill and Edo G. This is an impressive body of work and is much anticipated by faithful fans that Apathy has steadily accumulated from his long list of indie vinyl era 12" singles, album-like mixtapes, epic double disc It's the Bootleg compilation and relentless domestic and international touring. Sure to be contender for Hip Hop album of the year, Wanna Snuggle? smashes completely through the sophomore jinx and delivers timeless rap music for you and yours.

Comment: This album is currently underrated at a 4 stars. I think a lot of people just didn't really GET it. Apathy is hands-down the greatest rapper out there right now, and that's not to stay that he's my absolute favorite but he knows how to write. Demigodz and AotP fans get a little disappointed with Apathy because he doesn't do nothing but "bangers" all the time. He actually diversifies himself into a broader range of music and what he feels like saying. If you like good, true, hip hop that has meaning to it and isn't just a bunch of battle raps then cop this album. If you have a problem with that then this probably isn't the disc for you.

Comment: I love Ap to death, but this was a soft album. Had it's good points but overall not that great, definitely not up to par with other Apathy releases. "I'm a Demigod" is a banger fo sho, thats some classic Ap shit right there. He is still one of the most talented mc's in the game though, if not the best. His punchlines, multi's, wordplay, and subject matter is usually second to none. He didn't lose me as a fan with this album, but I just hope he comes harder on his next joint.

Comment: One of the top albums of 2009 an amazing entry from Apathy. Some production lacks certain fire people are looking for but I strongly feel it works with the subject matter of the album and what hes flowing about. Ap keeps getting better with each release and he was straight fire from his first release. Can;t wait for the next one. Cop it

Comment: let's face it people, apathy sucks dick at producing. any emcee from aotp that started to make beats is better than apathy. celph titled and eso could roast ap in a beat contest. apathy's production was even less of a present force here. usually I would say his stuff is okay, he was fine on that get busy committee, majik most, demigodz, apathy & celph titled, but here for his own album, he pulled out some of his weakest most generic batch of beats yet. terribly bland production, cheap eighties rock guitar riffs and cheap snares, messy snares, and strums from guitars, not a good mash up. check the song with blacastan(!!! don't sleep on this dude master of reality album of '10) the cheap guitars make me cringe and laugh my ass off everytime I hear them, its so cheap. it souns like he used mtv music generator as a back drop for this shit. no tracks are overly bad just too many, with sparse effort scatterd throughout twenty one tracks you know you got an average at best release in your hands. ineverremember: "long bloated tracklist of average apathy songs" word

Maybe I need to listen some more but I don't think so. Production is a C- on here. Rakim's album is much better than this, Brother Ali US, Cormega Born & Raised, Haha even 50 Cent Before I self destruct is 10 times better than this!!!

Comment: Yo...This shit is pretty fuckin ill, considering the fact that Apathy did pretty much all the production; His production is better than most other producer's shit, sadly..But compared to his debut album, "Eastern Philosophy," this album doesn't COME CLOSE!!! I was actually very dissapointed when I heard this. Some of the beats are like "WTF?" and there are just too many songs on here. His first album was so cohesive, this just seems to be a bunch of random songs, but I mean it makes sense because it's called "Wanna Snuggle?" So that kinda shows there really isn't much direction with the album. Still good hip hop though!! But I was letdown compared to his amazing debut!!

Here's a word of advice: This album uses less hard beats, it's more of any easy listen with dope lines and dope beats, if you want harder beats go for eastern philosophy

Comment: HA HA Hollings your hilarious...Im curious why you spend time on this site if your evaluation of a musical genre is based on the album artwork... Im sure this will be sick tho. And props to ap for an original album cover, why not hes an original rapper. And who wants a typical hip hop CD cover anyways, their a dime a dozen, just like the shit you hear on MTV and the radio.
