    Summary

While Asher Roth's fratboy-ish debut single, the mellow and supremely catchy "I Love College," may make hip-hop cynics tab him a rap dilettante, the Caucasian MC proves to have much more depth on his 2009 opening volley, ASLEEP IN THE BREAD AISLE, featuring an impressive guest roll (Cee Lo, Jazze Pha) and reverent throwback beats.

Comment: This dude has talent.Hip Hop originated from the streets. It was a medium for a people unheard to express themselves to be heard. This dude is talking about his life. Sure he wasn't brought up hardcore gangsta, but he sure does make good music. Without talking all the time about shooting n*ggas and selling drugs. I tell you this he's better than a Souldja Boy any day and look who's featured on his albums cats like Cee-Lo, and Busta Rhymes. I mean i'm sure they wouldn't have associated themselves with Asher Roth if he was a rip off. This Album is tight. The producers and his rapping skills is dope and I can feel him on a couple of songs. I have to admit I didn't give this dude a chance and only recently paid attention to a few of his songs, but have to say he's good. I can't hate. Good music is Good music. As for these White Pride motherfuckers, Stop your racist shit. Like the Comment from kate. Liking an artist just because he's white? are you stupid? That's like saying you like to eat shit because it's brown. I bet you it doesn't taste good.

Comment: I totally agree with the reviews of album. After hearing the greenhouse effect I myself was very disappointed in the album. I actually like is flow, the content is ok, the beats below average, the production so so, guest spots were better but overall the album fell mad short. What I can't agree with is the personal attacks on the kid. Who cares that the first album he bought was dave matthews does that mean he doesn't like or represent real hip hop. Not everyone is born in the same environment and introduced to the same music at the same time. You think beinf in bumblefuck, Pa he was going to buy a Big L album, or Illmatic. He wasn't around that sound. I think he has some talent just has to get better beats and switch up the flow a bit. As far as his image and who he his well hopefully he don't change he can't go back and unpurchase that first cd or be someone hes not, the same way most you ignorant haters won't learn and let someone be who they are.

Comment: His uses the same basic 1,2 flow on basically every song. His story telling isnt compelling. His "perspective" is played out "Rich Get Richer, Poor Get Poorer" ??? Really?!?! Go on youtube and look up Asher Roth 05. You will see him making horrible music, and driving around in a huge truck with his "then" logo on the shit. Dude is a clown and his dad plays golf with the people who signed him.

Comment: lets see, after listening to the greenhouse effect mixtape I really had high expectations. I really cant believe he wanted to beef with TI.lyrics were ehh and beats werent that good.he has skill from other things I have heard but I guess with the style hes going for his full potential wont be reached. but hey its only his 1st album. I kind of expected the album to fall short when I heard tracks on the local rock station.

Comment: Asher Roth is a disgrace to hiphop. Totally jack'd Eminem for his flow (not his lyrical content, but his delivery & tone). He's single handedly giving white rappers a bad name (bringing it back to the Vanilla Ice days). Dudes a rapper & the 1st cd he ever bought was Dave Mathews???....Come on now. Bottom line, if you're a fratboy or a teenage girl, BUY THIS CD! You'll love it! If you love real hiphop, don't waste your time or $

Comment: You can't even front, this dude has skills. Some of the subject matter is lame, but his music is creative and catchy. It's by no means a classic but he's no where's near being wack either. I've listened to the album and it's above average....3.5 stars from me. It's definitely better than alot of underground sh-t that's dropped the last few months. It's worth checking out, no doubt.

Comment: Fuck asher roth. He is a whack emcee and I am ashamed he is from where I live. They try to compare this loser to eminem, but he is no where near eminems lyrical abilities. Fuck asher and his lame subject matter, lame flow, and horrible wordplay. The only reason he is even doing anything is because he is from a wealthy family and they paid his way through the game and the ranks. T.I. almost knocked asher the fuck out. Dude is a fake.
