Summary

I wrote "This is Our Science" about the last 7 years of my life touring, traveling, drifting, and working. About the friends I've made, the lessons I've learned, and the stories I've lived on this endless exploration into my art, my mind, and the world at large. Throughout this adventure, there has always been a place that I kept my stuff while I was gone, sometimes in boxes in a basement, sometimes on a bookshelf in a bedroom, but I have never had a real home. I always said, "the world is my hometown, and all the countries are just neighborhoods I like to visit", but that definition never felt right to me. Something was missing.

It wasn't until I really started writing the album that I took time to sit back and reflect on this life lived without an anchor, and it became clear to me: home may never be a place for me. I won't find home in a building, or in my bed, home will be in my stories, my memories, and more than anything...my friends.

Comment: "The worst sh-t i've ever heard in my life, not even hip hop." wow, I guess it's only good if it's what Tim considers to be "hip hop". My biggest problem with "under ground hip hop" heads, is that most won't give any other genre of music a chance. Funny, since with out every other genre of music, "hip hop" wouldn't exist!

Comment: This album is Nuts! An instant classic and one of the best albums of 2011....hands down. Between the powerful, melodic production and the insane cathartic energy which spews forth as projectile vomit from an overdose on dope (tracks like 'This is our Science', 'Dimitri Mendeleev') Astronautalis proves himself one hell of an artist who has a lot to say. I understand not everybody's gonna be able to feel this album like I do. But, if you like good music buy this album and support this dude! "To you this is as crazy as it gets, to the man with bruises on hands it only makes sense." - from the song 'This Is Our Science'

Comment: It's definitely unique. I agree with the Hip Hop Fan, I'm all for people "being themselves" but seriously, what the fuck is that he's wearing? Or better yet, what the fuck does it mean? I give him an A for creativity cuz you can't knock that this dude is on his own shit but I'm still not sure about this whole Doomtree thing. Not really my style but I'm trying...

Comment: This album is fantastic. It's an evolution from his earlier works. Please support this album. It worth the money. Astronautalis is a story teller extraordinaire. This is most definitely Hip Hop music. Go see him live and see if your mind isn't blown.
