Name: Catharsis (Posted: 4/22/2004 12:18:00 AM) Summary: This Is What Hip Hop Music Should Be Comment: First off the beat is crazy. Chops is one of the illest producers out, regardless. The cutting is ill too, adds a real Hip-hop vibe to the song. Talib Kweli spits, Ras Kass spits as expected. Phil da Agony does an alright job on his verse, he is a little out of place rhyming with Ras and Kweli. Basically, this sh*t is crazy. | Name: purehiphop (Posted: 4/2/2004 2:03:00 PM) Summary: Hot Comment: Not much to say about this joint but that it's a classic. | Name: Headsky` (Posted: 1/19/2004 8:05:00 PM) Summary: Unf@ck-witable Comment: This beat is awsome and the lyrics are undoutably dope what else can you excpect from these emcees. | Name: lank_link (Posted: 1/15/2004 2:35:00 PM) Summary: Nice Wu Samples Comment: Good feel to the song, I think Phil the Agony is a little out of his league, who's still tripping of his first single? Ras and Kweli, top notch lyrics. Chops brings nice samples from Wu's best and an upbeat tempo. | Name: bill_tek (Posted: 1/12/2004 4:57:00 AM) Summary: Rugged Comment: All I can say is...It's hot! The beat is hard, rugged and hypnotic. Peep it yourself! | Name: MonadeDrinker (Posted: 1/10/2004 2:51:00 PM) Summary: Hot Beat, Hot Rhymes Comment: The beat had me from the beginning, hard as hell I gotta give it up to Chops for bringing the heat. The line up of MC's is the best from coast to coast and all three of them deliver an A+ performance. The Wu-Tang sample in the hook is nice and when Phil, Ras, and Kweli's names are scratched at the end, it caps of a spectacular display of lyricism and production. | Name: hiphoptime (Posted: 1/6/2004 11:44:00 PM) Summary: Dope Song: What More Can I Say? Comment: Chops does an excellent job on the production of this song. Phil, Ras, and Talib each rip it up and that Wu-Tang sample compliments the song very well.
| Name: Decypher25 (Posted: 1/2/2004 12:09:00 PM) Comment: Chops is branching out to non-Philadelphia artists this time, getting Left Coast legends Phil Da Agony and Ras Kass and combining them with BK’s Talib Kweli. Chops goes for the jugular with a grandioso beat and orchestra sample that all 3 MC’s spit straight heat with. Killing the mic first is Likwit associate Phil Da Agony with his aggressive flow, second up to bat is clever wordplay verbals from Ras Kass and last but not least, Talib completes the solid effort with his conscious and catchy punch lines. Chops lays layers of scratch samples from U-God, Inspectah Deck and even cutting up the respective MC’s names at the end. An incredible effort by Chops reminiscent of his joint with Bahamadia and Cali Agents “Special Forces” a couple years back. Cop this to set the New Year straight. |
