Comment: C'mon .. that beat is grimey... and I only gave lyrics average, cause it's average Aesop Rock .. still godly..

Summary: El-p, What The Hell Happened???
Comment: Too bad I have to agree with practically everyone else, but the beat sucks. (I'm an El-P fan, so I'm sorry to have to say it like it is.) He's done much better--you certainly won't find it here.

Summary: That Beat! Ahhh
Comment: god, I was excited when I saw this track, being an Aesop fan, but that beat, ahh it is SO BAD. Just a compilation of crazy insane techno sounds and instruments and is extremely repetitive. The lyrics, on the other hand, are nothing short of sick- as usual for Aesop. My advice, if you want to keep your sanity, keep away from this track. It is not worth risking your brain cells to listen to this.

Summary: Cannot Stand That F*ckin Horrible Beat!
Comment: El-P is capable of great things....but he is also capable of beats which cause brain damage, like this one for example, it's extremely repetitive and just plain ugly (a bunch of bizarre techno sounds basically). Not only is it f-in sh*t, it also distorts Aesops lyrics (I didn't catch all of them due to the sheer loudness and ugliness of the beat)which is a crime against hiphop (depriving people of Aesop's lyrical gift is a crime!)...but I will let El-P off, because he has dropped some of the best beats I have ever heard (The Fondle Em fossils remix being amongst his best!)...just steer clear of this unless you want an exceptionally bad migrane.

Summary: Gave Me A Headache
Comment: Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Aesop, but the beat to this song gave me a headache. The lyrics, on the other hand, were dope as they always are with Ace. But the production was sad, it was like El-P took a keyboard, pressed two random keys, held them down and let Aesop rhyme over it. I think any other beat would have made this song really dope.

Comment: "Damn yo, you hear that new Aesop Rock joint?" Yeah, I did actually, and this one isn't worth the hubub, bub. Although the message of this piece regards "the vandalism of the culture by the masses" and perhaps not the other way around, the real thing that got jacked here was good production. Upon my initial listen, I was feeling this song, but was stricken with monotony once I recognized the repetitiveness of the loop. I'm sorry, but a sole riffing constituting the beat isn't what El-P is most known for. There is no switching up on the track to refresh its overall feel; therefore I have to make up for it by switching my headset off.

Summary: Aesop Is Always On Point
Comment: Now the beat is ok, but Aesop is super lyrical, one of indie's finest. What he needs to do is rock one of my beats.

Summary: Not Aesop Or EL-P's Best But Still
Comment: Granted, this is not the most mind boggling Ace Rock has ever come, and El-P comes with a kind of lazy loop, but it's still an enjoyable track. Even though Ace is not at his best he's still ten times better than 95% of the other MC's out today. Plus he's repping for the elements and his style is always amazing and it's actually still getting better. The beat doesn't suck either, it's obvious El-P didn't put too much effort into it but I was nodding my head. Basically don't hate, Ace Rock is one of 2 MC's that even deserve the consideration for the top (the other being Sage Francis of course), and El-P is most likely the best beatsmith out. Just because they put out a fun song that's less than classic doesn't mean everyone should get in a line and start hating.

Summary: Production Lacking
Comment: For some reason, Aesop and Producto don't work as good together as they should. Their collabo on "Labor Days" didn't fly like it should've, either. Aesop should stick to Blockhead or his own beats.

Summary: Not What I Expected
Comment: Aesop Rock should stick with production by Blockhead. This beat is okay for the first 30 or so seconds, and then gets old real quick. Aesop brings the usual, I'm pleased by his performance, but the production is really poor on this track. Not really pleased with the Aesop Rock/El-P combination.

Summary: Well Aesop Doesn't Move Ahead
Comment: I'm a big El-P fan in the production area but this song is not what I expected. One of my best friends has always told me how Aesop Rock was the deepest, illest emcee he has ever heard but I guess I can't get into a man who sounds exactly the same in all his songs with a monotonous tone that doesn't help bring out the message in his words. I think this beat is awful, a dirty sounding horn with a fast school fire alarm in the background. If you love Aesop so much that you are in denial and can't admit this song is one of his worst, there is something wrong.

Summary: Okay I'll Give Him A C-
Comment: You might as well listen to the RZA if you're going to listen to Aesop.

Comment: A definite classic, production needs a bit more though.

Summary: I'm Kind Of Getting Tired Of Aesop's Recuring Lyrics
Comment: I'm kind of getting tired of Aesop's recurring lyrics, he says the same shit a lot, but it works at the end. I just think he needs to be more productive with the lyrics and bring some freshness all the time. It's kind of like reading the same book over and over. It's enjoyable but you just want something new.

Comment: I'm really trying to see the value in Aesop Rock. My brother seems to think this man can do no wrong and he's not alone in peers on this forum. I'm just not certain I "get it" and I think myself pretty forward thinking in my love for hip hop. It's way too wordy... the whole multi-syllabic style gets old.

Summary: Can't Go Wrong
Comment: Aesop's lyrics are always on point (if not way above it), but the production is par, not great but not bad either.
