Chopped strings and bouncy drum programming gives this record that signature Primo feel, definitely. And with a lineup like this, you know top notch vocals will be present. Highly recommended.
Name: Shade (Posted: 1/7/2005 6:44:00 PM) Comment: The “Boulevard Connection” got some top-shelf support here. EDO.G. was deep in the game when most of these rap cats was still peeing their pants. Common keepin’ it thorough still, and Masta Ace on point like you know. The production is really crisp with a nicely scratched chorus of some old, familiar joints. Context definitely leaves the impression that he was influenced by Primo, but turns in a solid instrumental that stands on its own. EDO.G is definitely the standout part of this single though and deserves the shine.
Name: Mash_Comp (Posted: 1/2/2005 4:49:00 PM) Summary: A Totally Solid Song Comment: This is one of those dream 12-inches from 3 very confident and respected MCs. From Boston's EDO.G to New York's Masta Ace and the Chi-town anchorman Common, this song is so amazingly good that you must put this in your rotation. Context's dreamy, Primo-like beat helps the MC's shine but takes nothing away from the lyrical importance of this song. Pick this one up.
Name: MarcusBee (Posted: 12/29/2004 12:12:00 PM) Summary: I Gotta Have It!! Splash!! 6th Sense!!! Comment: Cop this!!!It doesn't matter what kind of beats these cats are on because they always, I repeat always, bless the mic with such precision. A must have for any Common, Masta Ace or EDO G. fans.
