Comment: all im saying is I had enough of the emo bull shit 'my mommy didnt wipe me enough' music on hells winter, I got the point about cage, why not flip something new and creative instead of peddling this emo crap trying to capitalize on a bunch of depressed teenagers, and as for camu tao, everyone has dead friends its a part of life no need to dwell on the shit or rap about it fuck

Comment: Not feeling the intro-ish part, but I actually like the parts where he's spitting. Some line are pretty ill "at the funeral pull out my dead dick", "how you suck the life from the dead is even too low for you". I'm willing to give it a chance, but we gotta hear the whole album. You can't just jump on a scrap. Yes, this dude has changed. We never consider what these artists go through, we just want them to make great music. Making great music comes at a great price... sometimes death. This dude genuinely wanted to die, but he didn't. Think about that shit.

Comment: ehh, not great, not terrible. I think most of the artists on def jux in general have gone downhill in the last few years, not just cage.

Comment: It's not melodrama, it's progression. You don't have to like it, that's an opinion, but you're showing a firm bias with the "scenester kids moist" statement. And Fat Joe IS just in it for the money. I have no doubt he believes the shit he's blabbering but if you think Cage is making some huge amount of cash you're livin in a dream world. You absolutely cannot refute that Cage has a sick flow, don't place anything Fat Joe has done in the last 8-10 years into the same category. And btw I'm pretty sure you could get a copy of D.I.T.C self titled if you really need to live in the past.

Comment: Yeah, let's be melodramatic, shall we? We shouldn't listen to it if we're not feeling it? We're not buying the fucking thing, we listened and made gave our 2 cents. People don't give a shit if he's "grown up," if it's bad music then it's bad music. It's just more of a shame when they used to be decent to listen to. Take Fat Joe for example. Used to make some dope shit in D.I.T.C.. Then look at his song with Ashanti. Are we not supposed to give him shit for that, or should we say that he's grown up or that he's speaking from the heart? NO muhfucka, he's going where the money is! Can you imagine how much money this dude is making because of this emo shit? Think about that while you're wearing your albumless Cardboard City shirt listening to your Def Jux podcast.

Comment: Cage actually makes some intelligent, relateable track about Camu Tao (R.I.P.), and yet you take the time out of your busy, busy day to write a review and hate on it? Don't fucking listen to it if you ain't feeling it.
The old drug-glorifying, insane-asylumy Cage is dead. Quit bitching and moaning, because he's not about to go do another Leak Bros. album or drop another Agent Orange. He's growing up, why can't you?

Comment: I like it...the intro is a bit stupid, but the acual song is great. El-P is great

Comment: It pisses me off that whenever a rapper grows up, gets his shit together and matures, people want to cut the music down. If no one ever dared to speak from the heart music would be bullshit all over the world... And Cage made Agent Orange over and over he'd either be dead by now or out of a job. Wake up People.

Comment: It's this kind of shit that makes me embarassed to have ever told people to listen to this guy. When you ask yourself, "can it really be that bad?" the answer is yes.

Comment: what is with Cage and this indie rock emo bull shit, this is supposed to be rap, I loved Cage's writing style and imagery he used on movies for the blind but this shit is weaker than that icp shit, yeah I guess the old cage is dead, and probably spinning in his grave listening to this bull shit
Name: Jungle Megalah (Posted: 4/8/2009 1:39:00 AM; Partial IP: 184.108.40.206)
Comment: Man, this shit is terrible. Okay El-P production though. I'm sure the intro will get all the scenester kids moist.
