Comment: This song is straight heat. Kanye laced Common with a beat he could get raw on. It nice to hear Common spit that way again.

Comment: After working with both Kanye West (“The Food”) and Last Poets (“Panthers” with Dead Prez), Common resurrects himself from his often criticized Electric Circus LP. Common has been spitting on really good tracks over the past year (see Kanye West’s “Get ‘Em High,” “Jesus Walks Remix,” De La Soul’s “Days of Our Lives,” and Boulevard Connection’s “Claimin’ Respect Part 2”). Common is making it clear he hasn’t gone too far left field for his fan base and seems to be returning to his back-to-basics approach that made him a renowned MC and artist. I figure, if Common can do some tracks with Dug Infinite, I’d say his album would be a masterpiece.

Summary: New Song
Comment: I like this new song by CommonSense. The one and only Lost Poets are on the song as well. The beat was done by Kanye West and it will be a sick freestyle joint. Great video too.

Summary: Common Is Back To His Senses
Comment: Common is coming real fresh and Kanye delivers a tight beat. Definitely feeling Common's new ish, and he is showing why he is Chi-towns finest.

Summary: He's Back
Comment: I'm looking forward to Common's new album. Kanye seems to have revitalized Common although this beat is average. ?uest Love is supposed to have produced over half the album, and with him and Kanye, Common is back in business. Chi-Town forever.

Comment: You know I really don't like this record all that much. The vocals are pretty solid as far as Common goes. And it's definitely an improvement for Common. The beat is pretty good, especially for Kanye, but Kanye ruins the whole experience for me with his Puffy influenced involvement in the chorus. So I will give this a reluctant thumbs up only because of Kanye, and I'll wait for the version that edits him out of the chorus. Until then, proceed with caution.
