Summary: What The Hell?
Comment: Damn, you could've fooled me! This sounds like a long lost track off of Pete Rock's "Petestrumentals" album! Anyways, DJ Roddyrod is doin' it beat wise with the likes of Cy Young & Kev Brown! If you peeps liked this, you need to check that "You Don't Know the Half" album! It's on fire! It has Brown, Roddyrod, & others on it. Peep it!

Comment: Who's Roddy Rod? He's the DJ/producer for Maspyke, shame on you for not knowing that.
Anyhow, the production is ridiculous and the lyrics are cool. I'm diggin this track heavily, peep it if you know what's good for you.

Comment: The beat is just stupid. Real simple but dope. Imma be looking out for Roddyrod on the boards again. Cy Young and Kev Brown hold it down on the mic but Roddyrod steals the show here.

Comment: Does DJ Roddyrod want to be Jay-Dee? I don't know, but "Take Notice" sounds like a lost outtake from Slum Village's excellent “Fantastic Volume 2” record. In fact, it sounds like a mix of "Untitled," "Fall In Love," and "Once Upon A Time" (the Pete Rock produced track) from the “Fantastic” record. Those reverbed guitars and bass thump are Jay-Dee trademarks, and to be honest, if you didn't tell me the Roddyrod produced this track, I would've sworn Jay-Dee did it. Kev Brown sounds like a mystery Slum Village member, with more talent, while Cy Young sounds like J. Sands' clone. It's a good track, but in terms of finding his own niche, DJ Roddyrod doesn't move much beyond imitation. Nevertheless, if you like the Slum Village of old (back when Jay-Dee was still a member), this might bring a smile to your face.

Summary: I Don't Know Who's "Roddyrod". . .
Comment: Is, but this beat is stupid! The lyrics are average. A definite late evening, hot weather cruise jam.
