Comment: Ghost ain’t back. Ghost never left. He’s been the most consistent emcee the past decade, maybe ever. And don’t give me that LL Cool J crap. He’s been consistently boring the past decade. Ghost will rhyme over anything. And rhyme well. Drum n Bass, house, silence, whatever. Have you heard him rhyme over SoHo’s classic house anthem “Hot Music”? Bonkers. And I love the fact that he seeks out and works with other artists that are pushing the envelope (ie. Plastic Little, MF Doom, J Dilla, Mark Ronson, Prefuse 73). It makes it easy as a consumer. If I’m ever looking for a new artist to get into, I just go check out whoever Ghostdini has just done a track with and I know they are quality. Saves me from buying crap. Thanks Ghostface Killah! Anyhow, this joint is fire. Crack. Nahhh, it’s crackfiyahhhhhh. It’s Ghostface rhyming over the beat to Eric B and Rakim’s classic “Juice (Know the Ledge)” with the scratch sentence “Ghost is back” thrown in on the hook. Results? It’s simple arithmetic really. Ghostface plus Juice equals fucking awesome. Anyhow, for all the inquisitive out there, this track was left off of Ghostface’s most recent Def Jam release “More Fish” for one reason or another (perhaps clearance issues since it really is the exact same Juice beat). Fortunately for all of us who still like something more concrete than an MP3 in order to claim ownership of something, there are still white labels out there. This burner can be found on the vinyl “More Fish EP”.
