Comment: You know, I am a fan of the progression of the "artist". I like it when musicians challenge themselves to try new things, expand their sounds, but Kool Keith, Kool Keith has gone too far. Stepping away from his solidly enjoyable roots to pump out weak albums that only further pad his embarrassingly over laden discography. And "Digital Engineering" is just one more step down the wrong path. TomC3 actually manages a pretty banging beat here, hard, early-90s drums over a series of synthy jabs that really drive the song. Itís Kool Keith who missteps, half-mumbling a stream of nonsensical, barely audible sci-fi rhymes that honestly made me cringe on first listen. And it is sad how miserable Kool Keith performs on his own comeback track, but itís even sadder that his crap performance isnít that big of a surprise.
