Description: God damn, I know I'm about two weeks late on this Dilla tribute show. But hey, I spent eight hours this past February 10th at a record convention fishin' out a grip of 45s that would make you jealous (and for a section 8 price). So yeah, I don't know if I will be able to do a Dilla show every year, or, well, even if I should. But, I would say that judging the way by which Dilla has posthumously released hella albums in the last year it won't be too hard. James Dewitt Yancey was ill before most of the people who now ride his jock even knew it (you hip-hop necrophiliacs). Point is, we were all bumpin' those Pharcyde and Tribe records, listening to and lovin Dilla, without maybe knowing it. Some people are just catching on and errbody wants to make beats like Dilla. But, you gotta get sick of the suckas who didn't live near Detroit who try and say they were down with my man since his 1st Down days. Shhh. Regardless, dude was mad versatile and killed it on all fronts. I think this show is a testament to that skill. Lots of banging shit on this mix and I got real nuts with his unreleased instrumental LP that surfaced last year. I dunno, just sit back and enjoy this. Everybody knows February brings some nice things. NBA All-Star weekend (yo ESPN, license "A Friendly Game Of Basketball" from me again so I can make $ome mo money), me and Chief Chinchilla's birthdays and good deals on winter clothes. But unfortunately it brings the absolute worst holiday of all...Valentines Day.
Chief Chinchilla and I are so disgusted at the thought of such a terrible awful holiday that we're dedicating an hour of our lives to make your Valentines Day as miserable as ours and we're letting the hate marinate for an entire month (February is short so the next show will come a week late in March).
This one day is just a way for Hallmark to make some bank. But oh no no no, not in the land of Gator$-n-Fur$. Actually, we DEMAND all Gator$-N-Fur$ fans boycott Valentines Day this year and celebrate Black Thursday instead...meaning WEAR ALL BLACK on Feb 14. No red & white, absolutely not. If you're in a relationship, we aint hatin. Dinner is cool, but no big a$$ f**kin teddy bears, no candy, and lord jesus no cute HTML glitter myspace comments. I'm deleting those this year. If you and your partner are over 18 and have a myspace page just for yourselves as a couple...you're disqualified. You suck.
