Skyzoo & Torae - 'Barrel Brothers' CD Now Shipping
5/23: This album has been called for by their following since 2006! The idea behind Barrel Brothers is what the people have asked and come to know the two wordsmiths for; pure lyricism. Skyzoo, known for his picturesque storytelling and jazz/ orchestrial background, and Torae, known for his gritty Coney Island depictions of life with a vintage but modern lyrical approach, have briefly put their normal forte's to the side and crafted this album with one game plan in mind; lyrical exercise over hard New York City soundscapes. The current resurgence of NYC hip hop is perfect grounds for two of its premier flag holders to continue doing what they never stopped doing in the first place; representing the city.

Redman - 'Whut? Thee Album (Re-Issue)' Vinyl Now Shipping
5/23: The last of hip-hop's great party albums, Whut? never had to take itself too seriously and Redman made sure you didn't either. His weed-fueled rhyme-flow sizzled on the album's many P-Funk inspired tracks (courtesy of EPMD's Erick Sermon), and many songs ("Time 4 Sum Aksion," "Rated R"), jumped with an energy that tore the roof off and burned the house down. But more than just churn out bouncy club anthems, Redman showcased a wit ("How to Roll a Blunt") and laid-back flair ("Tonight's the Night") that helped plant his foot as one of hip-hop's most vibrant MCs. Over the years, Whut? has been commonly esteemed as a classic hip hop album, and along with Muddy Waters, it is widely regarded as Redman's best work.

Apollo Brown - 'Thirty Eight (.38)' Cassette Now Shipping
5/23: All singing on the album comes in the form of brief samples, some high-pitched and sped up, others left untouched. Taken together, they amount to glimpses of an emotionally affecting narrative, enabling the listener to fill in the plot and words between the booms and baps. Brown enlists New York mercenary Roc Marciano for the soundtrack's two features. Each CD comes packaged with 5" inch vinyl featuring the aforementioned Roc Marciano tracks. Quite possibly the first time a CD and 5" inch record have ever been sold together, cop yours before they're gone. For fans who desire the full analog experience, there will be 180-gram vinyl.
