    Summary

Chops' production is like no other product in hip hop. Chops is a true musician crafting all of his tracks from the music inside of his soul and rarely resorting to sampling like most hip hop/ rap producers. After collaborating with each artist while the song is being recorded, Chops uses post production to custom tailor his tracks to the artist's performance, delivery, and vibe. Chops' music has incredible universal appeal, yet retails the unmistakable Philadelphia vibe. Chops first came to recognition with the Philly-based hip hop group the Mountain Brothers. The group's self-released debut album, Self, Volume 1 (1998) earned widespread critical acclaim among the music press. Chops' Virtuosity delves into the world of Chops' groundbreaking production. Household names within the hip hop game have lined up to collaborate with Chops in this masterpiece entitled Virtuosity.

Comment: This is another great album coming from part of the Mountain Brothers crew. The beats are solid, and he's got mad talent. Check it out, make sure to pick up the Mountain Brothers and Chops last CD.

Comment: Everyone must cop this album. Hard-ass production and solid lyrics which make Chops-'Virtuosity' a pure banger. 'Comin' From the Lower Level' is a gem classic featuring emcees like Phil The Agony, Ras Kass, and BK's finest Talib Kweli. Chops uses a combination of ill symphony sounds and bass clicks that will have people head knockin'. Chops will be banging in the Hip-hop history books for years to come schoolin' these industry niggaz on some real Hip-hop.

Comment: I don't agree with producers making solo albums, simply because most of them can't rap or put out garbage, except for Dre (he had ghostwriters), Pete Rock, Kanye and a hand full of others. To me Chops did what all producers should do when they put out albums. That's make your beats and find some good MC's that can rip to them, and the result is the near classic that you have right here. Cop it now!

Comment: Listening to the snippets, I really get a vibe going on behind the screen of my computer. 2 kitties on my lap shaking their heads frantic on the beats, that's a good measuring point for me. The album looks like a story cause of all the interludes, I wonder where it'll take us. Loved it, gonna get it, bounce.
