    Summary

2014 release, the 10th studio album from the Hip Hop star. This concept-driven project is executive produced by No I.D. - who came of age in the '90s as producer of Common's first three albums. The title of the album is inspired by his troubled hometown of Chicago. "We came up with this concept NOBODY SMILIN [and it] was really a thought that came about because of all the violence that was going on in Chicago, or that is going on in Chicago," Common explained.

Comment: Not bad for a piece of sh*t album, lol. I'm playing, it was alright people, you just have to understand I don't think he meant this album to have bangers - it's just grown man rap.

Comment: Sounds better than alot a sh*t that's rated 5 stars. Half the reason hip hop isn't what it used to be is the fans with no rap aptitude. I laugh at the kids. Stop hopping on band wagons and hating. I don't hear any wack trash. This sh*t is solid.

Comment: I haven't listened to a Common album more than once since Be. Common's movie w/ Queen Latifah was better than this sh*t.

Comment: Big fan of Com and NoID but everything up until Kingdom is wack ass trash. Uninspired beats and Com stumbles with his flow on half those tracks as if he was drunk and high as f*ck. Also some of those cameos make me wanna rip my ears off. LWFC is my favorite album ever but Com should have stopped making records after Finding Forever. UMC was garbage, TDTB merely alright and this now has GTFO factor 10 as well.

Comment: Followed thru w/ the concept production. This doesn't sound too clean and has an edge which is refreshing nowadays. It seems like most rappers chase the radio or mostly do mindless club tracks just want to play it safe. They are afraid to take creative risks. It's NoID I don't understand what people expectations were but he doesn't do hard or have nicest beats in the game. Seems that people wanted him to be someone he's not. The only negative thing can say some hooks were weak.

Comment: There are a few good tracks on this, actually this LP is better than alot of albums coming out these days. Beats def dont compare to previous works which are legendary this is just a appeal to the masses album. Don't forget it has to be trendy to keep up with all the super garbage snap-crackle-pop stuff on the radio. Don't forget he was in T3 so he's not just a regular mc anymore, he is a superstar.

Comment: Am I listening to the same thing these other clowns "reviewed"? This might just be too "real" for the uneducated "Hip-Hop" listener of today.

Comment: Lyrically Coms still got it, but most of these beat just doesn't do for me. It's ironic that he's the same cat that made "Hungry".

Comment: I love Common, as he's one of my favorites of all-time. Having said that, it took me 3 listens to understand the direction of this project. Respect to the Chi. Granted, this isn't my type of production, but Common did spit, in a different way, and No ID is clearly marked in the history of the music. My two gripes are (1) too many cameos, but that's a personal gripe and (2) not enough melody, which is also a personal gripe. "Real" is a track that sits in the pocket I'm referring to, but who am I or anyone else to define Common as an artist. In a serious state of life, I believe in balance and I rely in cats like Common to deliver the music to counteract the plight. I understand the project, but just not my cup of tea. 3.5 to be exact on the rating system.

Comment: You gotta be from Chicago to understand this album. Alot of Chi talk on here that you lames wont comprehend. I do admit thou No I.D. could've came a little harder on the production. Rewind That and all the bonus tracks are FIYAH!!! I got an exclusive addition to this album that came with four bonus tracks. The fourth bonus track is called City To City which is dope also. Salute Common for making this album. It's a War going on in my city but it's been like this since the 70's. Kill Em All Gang 2 19 4
