Comment: i think maybe only three members of the Crown City Rockers went to Berklee College of Music and thats how they probably met EDAN and I might be confused about Moe Pope if he did also attend that college but he was once a member of Mission and he really was a member of Electric Company now know as Project Move. My man Shane From San Mateo who use to own a small record shop that specialized only in Underground Hip Hop from the late 90's from independent Hip Hop labels during that time. His shop was called Below the Surface, he now owns a Barber Shop/record shop called San Mateo Zoo. I did cop that Mission EP in 99 from Below the Surface, Shane put me on to this one when it first dropped when he first received the new arrivals, and he told me he knew personally either it was EDAN or Headnodic at the time, I could be wrong thats what I remember him telling me.

Comment: i member they were known as MISSION then they transplanted from Boston to the city of Oakland and then became Crown City Rockers. EDAN the Humble Magnificent produce for a song titled 'Testing' I assume this was right after Architecture and also going to Berklee college of music with Moe Poe who was also part of Electric now known as Project Move, much respect to Insight. I remember catching a show at the club Avalon in Santa clara and I remember Kat on the Keys and she was quite amazing. Raashan battled Max on some fast rapps over a drum. and Woodstock did a routine on his MP1k. on the song titled 'B-Boy' the video featured a cameo by a friend I went to college with Jardy Santiago who has a youtube channel. He reps Soul Sector and HeadHunters Crew out of the bay and the Zae. didnt expect him to be on a Crown City Rockers music video, sorry bout droppin names but its a small world. much respect to Dj Platurn of the Oakland Faders crew. I just remembered I missed a dope show at Mighty SF...45LIVE headlined by Prince Paul, PB Wolf, Dam funk, J rocc, Shortkut and Platurn. cant believe I missed it.

Comment: The Crown City Rockers are musicians who incorporate live instrumentation, often composing and playing original Jazz tunes, as well as producing top notch Hip Hop beats using samplers. They're just a joy to listen to, and especially to watch live. Definitely one of the best albums of 2004. Pick it up.
