    Summary

Strange Journey Volume Three by CunninLynguists -- The first ever truly crowd-sourced album. Not happy simply "crowd-funding" a release via Kickstarter like so many other artists, Deacon The Villain, Natti & Kno asked their fans for no money -- instead they spent a year interacting with fans via social media & allowing them to vote on guest artists, suggest song concepts, letting them peek in on studio sessions & make decisions on album artwork. Strange Journey Volume Three will be released digitally, on CD & double vinyl worldwide via Bad Taste Records and will feature fan-selected artists such as Murs, Del The Funky Homosapien, Aesop Rock, Grieves, Celph Titled, Zumbi of Zion I, Tonedeff and more.

Comment: How can anyone seriously sit there and say Kno is not an amazing producer. The guy is tireless putting out 2-3 projects per year. You wait years for some producers to put out a few joints when this guys is putting out 20-30 joints a year--quality sh*t too. Listen to this album, Built to Fade, the last two Strange Journey's, his solo album, the album with Marq Spekt. Show some respect. Without guys like this hip hop is dead. Much props to Kno and the crew - you singlehandedly keep me tuned into hip hop.

Comment: Do I need to remind everyone this is not a full out Cunning album, this is just a teaser to what they come out wit consistently over the years. This was an album picked by a poll done by fans and retarded people making unrealistic picks because they don't know good hip hop. If you listen to the progression of Kno and the rest, you will see nobody improves, comes unique, and shines like these guys. Don't critic the critics, listen to the product, not the samples on this sh*tty quality.

Comment: Dannabis, exactly! I'm agreeing with your first two sentences. It's true, it's all Cunninlynguists die hard fans who are giving this 5 stars and saying this album is amazing. KNO, it's not amazing. Get it? It's better than a lot of stuff out there, but it's not nearly as good as people say. There are some bangers on here, but they're here and there. Why do people say KNO is this incredible producer? He's definitely not incredible, I'll tell you that. This is a decent project, but I definitely was disappointed! Especially seeing that everyone said it was crazy! Then I go and listen to it, and KNO, it's not crazy.

Comment: @Dannabis - Everything doesn't have to be a "head nodder" to be considered good music. The fact that every one of their albums and songs is creative and not just background music to nod your head to is an accomplishment in its own. Your palate for good music is lacking, my friend.

Comment: I think Natti's and Deacon's rapping has improved so much! You also can't compare this to any of their previous work. I always look at artists new albums as being their best work to date, unless they have gotten lazy. This whole album is dope.18 tracks? And for the dude who said there's not one head nodder, "In The City" is a banger. Have you not heard the Format? I'm confused.

Comment: It's not as good as Volume 1 which was awesome and it's prob a close tie with Volume 2. It's a very good listen and a cool concept. But you gotta give it a 4 as they let fans A&R the album. I mean who does that? That is awesome. Fans picked all the guests and the outside producers, props to these guys.

Comment: Wow this is way over rated. Everyone who gave this 5 stars is clearly a die hard Cunnin fan. But when I review this honestly I don't see anything more than 3 stars here. Not one head nodder. Every track is really slow and mellow. Way too soft for me. Love a lot of the artists involved but in all honesty not one track made it onto my playlist. This was a let down for me. This album is a 3 but I'm giving it 2 to lower the absurd rating it has. Older stuff is much much better. :(

Comment: Very good album, everyone of there albums stands on its own, with its own sound and sometimes theme, to compare it to Vol. 1 and 2 is kinda dumb, also remember this is sort of a mixtape in the 90's sense of the word,so it won't have the magic that piece of strange, death is silent, or oneirology, but these guys put so much quality in there work, these featurette's I like to call em sound so good, its a way for cunning to put their team on the radar as well as fulfilling childhood dreams and working with the best in the game.

Comment: Love CunninLynguists and this is their best work since APOS. Kno remains one of the best producers in the game and has been on a tear with dreamscrape production lately - Oneirology, Death is Silent, and now this. And Strange Journey Volume 3 beats those out handily.

Comment: Pretty much just the sickness here, been on repeat for the last 24 here. They do a good job of really having their own style, and pushing innovation. Hip Hop needs more of this! I've been dying for some new ish like this.

Comment: I really love CunninLynguists, but canít really feel this album, have listened to it three times. Vol1 and Vol2 is a lot better quality of both lyrics and music. Its ok album but nothing compared to their earlier productions.

Comment: This is quite the journey. All the lyrics are on point and the production is flawless. This one definitely surpasses part 1 and 2. Number 2 with Del reminded me a lot of Deltron 3030 yea that's what I'm talking about! 5 mics easy

Comment: LP is another classic! I noticed that the LP seems to be missing the song with Apathy and Celph Titled, they have it on their bandcamp page though. It is amazing and not sure why it was left of the commercial release?
