Rap conglomerate, "The Demigodz", deliver their long-awaited full length album. After years of strongly cultivating their fanbase and branding their stamp within the underground hip hop scene, this supergroup of sharp soloists unite to create a force of witty lyricism and authentic, classic-style East Coast hip-hop production.

The crew consists of many recognizable names, including Apathy, Celph Titled, Ryu (of Styles of Beyond/Fort Minor), Esoteric, Blacastan and Motive. Each member has built up their own following over time --- and now they all combine to create a powerhouse album that their fans have always wanted. While Apathy, Celph Titled and Esoteric are also part of Jedi Mind Tricks' best-selling "Army of the Pharaohs" clique, the Demigodz are an old school crew that have a strong alliance with their Pharaoh brethren dating back to the late 90's. Additionally, the Godz have been highly heralded by Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, as he recruited them to be a part of his RIAA Certified Gold "Fort Minor" project and tour in 2006.

This new album is the first official follow-up since 2002's "The Godz Must Be Crazy" EP and 2007's "The Godz Must Be Crazier" deluxe re-issue; both top-selling indie hip-hop titles. "Demigodz is for true, hardcore hip-hop fans," Apathy says. "This KILLmatic album was made to reflect that. We always try to keep it grimy, dirty, creepy, spooky and f--ked up." The LP features production from DJ Premier, Marco Polo, Snowgoons, and Will C. among others, including Apathy himself.

Outside guest appearances include shots from R.A. The Rugged Man, Termanology, Scoop Deville, Eternia, Planetary (of Outerspace/Army of the Pharaohs), and Panchi (of NYGz).

Comment: I like how Ryu all of the sudden thinks he's a straight thug now, lol what corny BS this album is. Typical garbage that gets overrated on this site. Whack beats and zero originality at all. How hard can they act like they are track after track and how they are going to verbally intimidate you by telling how hard they are. Straight fictional nerd rap.

Comment: HAHAHA….So, I come back to this Killmatic forum and still see people saying ignorant shit and giving pathetic excuses as to why everyone is not saying this album is great. Not that this matters that much, but have any of y'all muthafuckas seen KILLmatic in ANY top albums of the year lists?? I haven't seen it in ONE LIST. You idiotic fucks just can't get it through your heads that Apathy fucked on the production tip. NOO. It's not bad at all. It's just not that GOOD! "The Godz Must Be Crazy" is 5 times better than this album. Fuck off to all of you pathetic fuckheads who can't give valid arguments. All you say is that we're "hating" because either deep down you know we're right, or you're just a dickrider who doesn't really know much about hip hop, and are one of those faggot backpackers who give any underground hip hop album 5 stars. Fuckin morons…HAHA….

Comment: Loved this album. Instant classic. One thing that bothers me though is how the group has shrunk overtime. Open Mic, Louis Logic, L-Fudge, Spin 4th, Rise, One Two, Jabber Jaw, Metropolis are all absent from this spectical. (Apoligize in advanced if I left any original members out of the list). None the less though it is an excellent album.

The fact of the matter is in these comment post there will always be fucktards putting their 2 cents in that don't know shit... (mostly lil Wayne groupies). Apathy, Celph, and the entire crew puttin it down on Killmatic hit the bullseye and delivered what we all knew to expect.....DOPE SHIT! Big ups to Apathy for the production. 5 Stars through and through. Demigodz baby!

Comment: Only negateive thing to say about this album is the fact that I copped this cd and left it in the car for at least two weeks without even looking at it. But once I did...WOW!!! Instant underground classic album. My joint is Just can't Quit, but theres alot of other one on here that are just as good. You haters need to get a damn life because this is what real hip hop sounds like.

Comment: I like 14 out of 15 tracks on this album. Its better than what most rappers or groups release in a decade. All members have a moment of shine in this album and the production is tight, regardless of what you may have heard. TOTAL LETDOWN. I'm not the only one saying this. You wanna know good beats. Good beats are what you heard on Celph Titled's album, "Nineteen Ninety Now." Those were fuckin ill beats. Apathy fucked up.

Comment: REAL FUCKIN TALK. Apathy, you know you done fucked up, right? You know you done fucked up?? You idiot!! When did it ever come across any of the Godz minds to say "hey, I think APATHY should produce the album." Are you fucking serious?? The beats are fucking WACK on this album, pointblank, period, and I can ASSURE you, THAT is why this album got a 3.5 instead of a 4.5. Yo AP, "Dead In The Middle" was FIRE, but the rest were total and utter shit. How could you make such an ill beat like "Dead in..." and then make total wack shit after that? Look man, it's been 11 fuckin years since yall put out your debut EP, "The Godz Must Be Crazy." That shit was fucking bananas compared to this, Celph Titled on the boards was a muthafuckin animal! Just about every beat was FIRE on there! And you're gonna call the album KILLmatic, knowing the anticipation for this album is HUGE, and you're gonna go and fuck it up by your shitty production...I don't even know what else to say. Fuck that, I downloaded this album. I have never ONCE downloaded ANY Apathy album, official mixtape, or anything. Even the Premier beat is pretty shitty. Better than the one on "Honkey Kong" for sure, but that's not sayin shit. Even the three or four beats that weren't yours were wack too?? What the fuck?? I can't believe I am literally pissed off about this album. Apathy, you're a fuckin hip hop connoisseur, you know what good production is, and you put this garbage out. And Louis Logic leaving the group, that's another fucked up thing, because he was an ANIMAL and the chemistry you, him and Celph had was incredible. I agree with this rating. 3.5 at the MOST. Maybe even a 3. Seriously can't believe you didn't have either CELPH or CHUM make the beats! WTF AP?

Comment: Love this album from start to finish...maybe only 1 song I didn't really like. To everyone saying they wanted Rise on this... I don't really think you do want him on here. If you've heard any of his recent material in the last few years it is horrible and he has wayyyy fallen off. Listen to the Rise and Avid Record Collector album for instance... Where is the Rise that was killing verses back in the early Demigodz days? He seems to have lost it, so he definitely wouldn't add to this album and all it would be is a disappointment for those expecting him to rap like he did in 2001. That said, the rest of the crew really did great on here and Ap, Celph, Eso, Ryu haven't missed a step... The beats are strong here and the sound is dark (which I like).. I'd hate for these guys to go back to the goofball silly rap that plagued a lot of their early stuff. Just like dude below asking for Majik Most to be on this god would that ruin the vibe. Dude is funny but too much of a clown and does not fit on here. Plus he wasn't a DGZ member anyway, only a homie of Ap and Celph's. Either way it's a dope project and you should all be happy that it got released and appreciate the work that was done here.

Comment: I love the production here, actually exceeded my expectations. I figured this crew would have lost their steam but I was wrong. Everything is good here, the lyrics/flows and the beats. Some cool scratched hooks here and there but not overdone (I hate the generic fake Primo cuts that plague every underground release nowadays). Subject matter is lacking but that's not what you listen to a Demigodz album for. They did have some cool concepts/themes like Just Can't Quit being a weed type of joint, Tomax and Xamot tackled G.I. Joe perfectly, Captain Caveman stuck to its theme quite well. Every MC in this group is top notch.... of course Apathy and Celph Titled really stand out because of their colorful mic personalities and killer lyrics but I'm definitely wanting to hear more from Motive and I've been bumping nuff Blacastan material. Eso and Ryu are veterans as well and they definitely came correct on everything they spit on. Overall it's a dope album...positively worth a cop.

Comment: All this talk about bad production? What the fuck are you guys listening to otherwise? I hear bangers on here. Drums crisp, ill samples, basslines, change-ups, thematics.. wide variety of sample well respected producers like Premier, Marco Polo, Snowgoons, etc? Plus Apathy really delivered (Dead in the Middle is a HEATER)... Did fans expect another "Godz Must Be Crazy" with GOOFY ass beats and outdated stab-chops with typical kick/snare/hi-hat drums? Did you really want another 2002-sounding Demigodz album? I really don't understand it...

Comment: Have no clue how anyone here can say production was weak or a let down. Not sure what theyre smoking. This album BANGS all the way thru and sounds so sonically good. Celph muthafuckin Titled is the man here on the mic and Apathy obliterates every track as well. The rest of the crew are all solid. I love the Primo joint and only wish the album was longer.... Definetely cop this one, you wont be dissapointed.

Comment: Good album not great because of the sluggish production....Lyrically they all went in and it may have been a classic if the production is better.... Some cats you read their review and they never talk about the weaker points of an album.... I digs these cats but the production was the downfall.... Apathy's production was very solid to me but snowgoon, Teddy Roxpin & will C was very bland...

Eso rocked two Premo beats in 2013. Apathy is in my top 10 MC's. DOPEST tracks Dumb High, Never Take Me Out, Just Can't Quit, Worst Nightmare, DGZ x NYGz, The Gospel According To..., The Fallen Angels, Captain Caveman and Audi 5000

Comment: First off I want to say I am a huge fan of all of artists involved. Styles of Beyond is my favorite rap duo ever and I have purchased every LP/Single/EP/etc.. by everyone in the DGZ collective. I'd put Ryu, Apathy and Celph Titled in my top 10 MCs of all time any day. Nineteen Ninety Now, Honky Kong and Reseada Beach still get spins daily in my household, let alone going back and listening to classics from them all. Czarface is incredible been listening to that on repeat these days, Boston Pharaoh/1212 hell all the 7L & Esoteric releases are classics to me. The collective's first LP The Godz Are Crazier is a bonafide classic and I still enjoy listening to it quite often. Perhaps due to over two decades of classic upon classic released by all these super talented artists my expectation level for this LP was at such a high level that nothing they could release would please me but I must say I am a bit disappointed. A lot of the production was just ho hum to me. No songs sound bad by any means just they aren't that exciting and sound just average run of the mill. Lyrically Celph Titled kills with this metaphors and punchlines as always and while no one drops a total dud of a verse I feel like many of the verses were lazy and phoned in. I have heard everyone on here excel at the craft of writing and delivery and I feel they just didn't put their best foot forward on this project. I want to love this LP, I really do, and perhaps over time my expectation level will wane and I'll learn to appreciate it more than I do. Also perhaps with all the quality music they have released in the past couple years that I still listen to regularly is holding back my appreciation for this project? I hate saying anything negative about these guys cause they really are some of my favorite artists ever but for now it did not live up to the hype as I had hoped. I will continue to listen to it and continue to purchase and support all of their music and artistic endeavors! DGZ!

Comment: Man I loved this album...I thought the beats were super bangin' and the sound quality/mastering is top of the line. Apathy really impressed me with his production ("Dead in the Middle" just simply is a heater) and I enjoyed the other tracks from the heavyweights like Premier and Marco Polo. The MC's in this crew are on another level and I can't stress how many times my jaw dropped at some of the lyrics on here. Celph Titled stood out quite a bit due to his unique voice and extremely clever punchlines (I dunno how he doesn't run out of them or fall off, amazing)...Apathy sets off most of the songs and murders everytime the mic is turned on. Ryu of S.O.B. is always enjoyable as part of DGZ and I wish he was on more joints as well as Esoteric who impressed me on this album. Motive is a solid MC and one of the best newcomers I've heard in the last couple of years is Blacastan. I have all of his Brick Records releases and they get heavy rotation in my crib. I give this album a 9/10 and it's very much worth the purchase. I'm especially appreciative they pressed it on double vinyl as not many albums are coming out in that format any longer..... To the people trashing the production on here, I have no clue how you can come to those conclusions...Probably just kids trying to shit on these guys for whatever reason. There aren't many albums this good that are released in a year...Looking forward to anything these guys do in the future.... And bring on that damn AOTP "In Death Reborn" album already too!

Comment: This might be one of those albums it takes me 3-5 years to lower my standards enough to accept as a good album. So far after listening to it I hate it. Not one good song on it, just the typical shitty beats with boring verses using the "super group" title to push out another terrible album out.

Beats are dope, so glad they featured Eternia on a track, shes def the illest female emcee and her history with the DGZ is well written. Really really pleased with this release. Czar & Grimy were great lead ups but this album deef deserved the cleanup position. Oh My God, DEMIGODZ

Comment: Nice album. I'm a rather recent DGZ fan,(2 years max) and I can say it album is nice decent really, production being handled mostly by Ap killed it. Ap is a dope producer but he shouldnt have done so many for this. beats from 7L, Celph, C-Lance would have been nice. Lyrics are dope, but beats not so much. I feel like Ap's Army of the Godz should have been place for killmatic. Giants On The Earth Nice intro Demigodz Is Back Dope track many get annoying with the rocky sample Dumb High Nice track Never Take Me Out Good track Just Can't Quit Kush track, track I don't really like, wack in IMO scoop shouldn't even be on Killmatic Worst Nightmare Nice primo beat, but I was expecting better for killmatic yet alone for the demigodz Can't Fool Me Annoying beat, listen to it, you'll see why DGZ x NYGz Start great and drops, Beat wise but isn't too bad, shouldn't have the intro Dead In The Middle Dope track sample was creative,. The Gospel According To... Good track Raiders Cap Dope track beat is nice The Fallen Angels Nice beat. Was expecting something more epic for a title like that. Still good. The Summer Of Sam Dope track, snowgoons merk Tomax & Xamot Only AP & Eso, nice track. Captain Caveman Dope track Audi 5000 Dope track

Comment: Man I really thought this would be a front runner for album of the year. The lyrical performances were on point, but a lot of the beats just ruined some tracks that could've been straight fire. Ap's beats on wanna snuggle were way better than this. Should have got 7L on this joint after the bangers he put out on czarface. Celph killed it and wish there was more ryu but his jawns were all sick. Demigodz has one of the illest clicks but the production is lacking. I'm not saying all of it, just those half ass joints that could've pushed this album to another level.

Comment: Just saw Apathy & Celph live here in Athens, dudes took rawness to another level. Early purchase for us, can't play it at this time of night but from the 5 -6 tracks I've heard both online and live, this sounds mega. All six of these emcees are some of the best to ever do it. Their EP from years ago trumped whole LP's at the time on creativity, talent and ruggedness alone. The underground has its worthy supergroup and this 1st full LP is the crowning achievement of a decade's worth of hard work, beats & rhymes. Props to Apathy for keeping the unity and not just being a frontman but the backbone of Demigodz.. Best bunch of emcees and Fuck anyone who dares to differ. Peace from the east
