    Summary

Nothing Was the Same is the third studio album from Canadian rapper Drake and follows his hugely successful 2011 release Take Care. Enlisting the help of Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Big Sean, TLC, and Rick Ross, to name but a few, in the recording process, the album sees Drake deliver a collection of electronic-infused rap and R&B tracks. The singles "Started from the Bottom" and "Hold On, We're Going Home" are included.

Comment: Why is this bullsh*t even on here? It's just commercialized, water-down, garabage the corporations control. What do you expect. Started from Degrassi now we're here, in this generation with grabage hip-hop on the radio.

Comment: I cant rate this guy cuz honestly there is a lot of good rap out there, underground cats still doin their thing so I have no time to listen to this fluff, but I just have to comment on this guys cover, almost like hes tryn to recreate classic nas album, or biggie smalls, dude this guy grew up in forest hill, grew up white, not on the front lawn with a pick in his hair, while his cousins braded hair, and gangsters sold crack on the corner, although I think this guy is pretty good song writer and great r&b style singer, this guy doesn't belong on this site. ohh and started from the bottom? I think u kind of started on top no?? I mean one second ur on popular kids show then ur gettn all this play with no record deal, I think u had a little help, either way, drake is talented and deserves everything he has, but I rather hear u say, "started from the top and now I wanna see how long I can stay, while making good music" doesn't have the same ring to it tho,

Comment: Bottom line is there's way more interesting music out there to cop than this the ratings will speak for itself. For instance I just ordered Omar's "The Man",solid album but in the end I guess some things seem better when it's free.

Comment: Can't we all just get along? Too many trolling comments and opinion's here lol. You guy's need like a date with a nice lady friend or something lol. By the way Tanya Morgan's: Rubber Souls is a good album if you a real head go check it. And this Drake CD? I will leave that up to you and your life decisions lol

Comment: @Popeye:If the answer was relevant to you(not that it matters) this album was given to me as a gift lol. I'll leave you with this...The accessibility of owning a lot of music or any CD is preference whether bought, given as a gift or whatever. Their is only so much time to give a listen to few things; and yet I find the time to listen to a lot of albums, sounds and instruments; and not just Hip-Hop. I don't limit the ideology of Hip-Hop to just the underground it was always within the mainstream whether some like it or not. And you a real head? Wu-tang would give Drake a Hip-Hop pass like Ghostface Killah did. Understand? But these are just my opinions...

Comment: @Popeye: What many cats like you don't understand is that Drake worked with and supports real Hip-Hop music even though he is mainstream. Like co- signing Slakah the Beatchild and Slakadeliqs...The "Soul Movement Vol.1" album by Slakah, reminds me of dilla when he was with the "Soulquarians" collective. Drake also did a few tracks with Little Brother like "Think Good Thoughts". I feel that the so called real heads are jaded by the labeling of artist being mainstream and tend to diss an artist. It's okay though...listen to whatever you can and cannot...You can't see me.

Comment: @Popeye: What? I listen to everything from funk, soul,R&B and Hip-Hop so you will never understand my personal tastes. I support Oddisse's music as well as invincible. Yeah Invincible can spit; and she is one of the best MC's to do it. I have her shapeshifters album. But I heard some music on this site I will never buy or don't have time to get into. It's my preference. I prefer what I like. Their are mainstream artists and underground artists that are dope. My ears and the worlds. Got it? Good...

Comment: @Popeye...I feel you bro. I do not even look towards drakes direction but find it facinating to view comments on ughh with the commercial emcees that ughh puts on here. It's comic relief for me. I was only implying that people from canada (Drakes homeland) see through this cat as mediocre. I bet if he pulled his head out of his ass, he could make comparable legit music that people would listen too. But until then, he caters to the masses of "radio". Btw, I enjoy the KOTD movement up there in Canada. keep up the good work. and to answer your question, no I wouldnt. Peace

Comment: wow, even the canadian heads on hear hate on drakes cakes lol. I don't have an opinion on this dude nor will I bash him. I will just simply say that he is not my cup of tea. I will also say that I scratched my head listening to track #3. What is that? Why? A lot of these radio pop stars dumb down bars in their songs just to make a dollar. I get the fact that everyone needs to make a dollar but come on, have some dignity when you step in the booth. Common should have just finished him off like a mortal kombat fatality. @fsadfa - I really don't have an issue with "mainstream" hip hop because some cats out their make decent music. I respect Lupe, JCole and even some of Macklemores shit but keep in mind, "mainstream" for me growing up was "icecream" by Raekwon and "resurrection" by Common. Radio is A LOT different now. Lacks substance and track 3 on this cd proves my logic. UGHH is in the business to make money so you can not hate them for putting cd's like this on their site, but on the other hand, I do understand the frustration from people on here. Good debate fellas...peace!

Comment: @Trav trolling. For starters I damn well know we don't listen to the same shit, wack is wack,i'm gonna give you an example right now,Invincible was on Oddisee's joint "Don't Sleep" remix.she spit more fire on that track than fake Drake did on all of his albums combined,so don't talk to us real heads about having an open mind.

Comment: Most of you reviewers don't have an open mind when it comes to hip hop music. I bet most of you that gave this album a low rating didn't give this a thorough listening. This album is dare I say is better than most underground shit I hear or have heard. Ya'll are some haters masquerading as the end all be all as to what is good music. And I bet 9 times out of 10 I like the same stuff you all like. This album is solid. Peace don't hate. Hotep...
