    Summary

Philadelphia based producer Haj of Dumhi continues his string of impressive indie releases with ‘The Jungle'. Using Ethiopian jazz samples as the foundation for ‘The Jungle', Haj has created a bed of layered drums and horn driven beats as the basis for the project. Also utilizing voice snippets from a wide array of sound sources, he develops metaphors between survival in the actual jungle with the challenges that face many inner city youths today.

From a vocal standpoint, The Jungle is anchored by legendary Philadelphia emcee Reef the Lost Cauze, who appears on four of the albums eleven tracks. Reef and Haj first worked together on the 2008 Dumhi release ‘Yoga at Home' and have developed an undeniable chemistry over the course of several collaborations since. The album also features up and coming indie emcees such as Philadelphia's Random, Ethel Cee, and Burke the Jurke as well as NY emcees Che Grand and Elucid among others.
