Summary

In this man are the traces of becoming. the display of veins strung into a multi-colored silhouette of a man born out of the electric dawn of the late seventies. Birthed from a songwriter father who struggled to unveil to his son the distortion world of drugs, song, and love, he discovered early that we are all in exile from one another. The boy grew up fascinated with the world of horror films, new wave pop, rap music, and graffiti. His spray paint fingers grazed dusty record sleeves, transformed a cheep home stereo into a mixer, and connected a young man with the current that changed his head. After years of journeying through sweat drenched undergrounds, and strobe light shadows, a man emerged. One who finds consolation in the fractal universe, one who has discovered love in a Technicolor death valley, and one who realized that those of the Diaspora of love can find community through song, he radiates wax for us. A man who is wired to the electric field of his past where he has loves and lost, and discovered the intervals of an off beat, kinetic world, he offers his songs as flesh, this music is an artifact of a man who shares his quantum of experience, who wants you to plug into his design, bridge the gap of our individual exiles, and discover the art of becoming electric through analog tape hiss.

Comment: I haven't heard the album in full yet, so I can't give it a rating. But you got plenty of closet fags on this site. Who gives a damn how he looks on the cover? Would the record sound better if he posed in front of the pj's with a rag on his head? Also, he's five times better than alchemist on the mic. Beats sound official too.

Comment: I like the beats...exile always had nice beats...I wish him and Blu will hook back up and produce another classic, cause blu beats have went downhill but his lyrics are nice...and exile beats are nice but his lyrics is horrible...so they need to get back together asap

Comment: Exile needs to stop rapping ASAP. You're not J Dilla, you're not Pete Rock, you're not the Alchemist. 9th Wonder needs to quit rapping ASAP himself. These beats are fucking dope, unfortunately I'd rather hear them in instrumental form. This guy has the plainest rap style, and the sleepiest bars I've heard in some time. Dope producers that suck at rapping, stop rapping. Also, the album cover makes me think Exile is a fat douche. When he's a fat douche/dope artist. Looking at the cover, I just think fat douche.

Comment: such a great album... i'm hearing heads hate on this, and that just makes no sense to me, 4 Trk Mind is full of great beats, hilarious rhymes, and an all around dope feel throughout the whole album. I think its my favorite Exile joint since Emanon - I know most people will think that's crazy but real talk. this joint keeps me bursting out in laughter and boppin my head, love the lo-fi aesthetic. for real if you don't think this is hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable you need to unclench your ass cheeks, relax and enjoy

Comment: what the deal?! Not going to say that the cover n actual tracks are not going to be good. But how long ago was it that that album title (4 Track mind) was already used by Mudkids?! Should have named it somthing a little more original is all i'm saying.

Comment: Dude Ex, LOL! That cover and the first 4 tracks are hilariously bad, I thought that shits a parody at first but the rest of the album is good to stellar. Still nobody could buy that album in a store without getting looked at awkwardly as hell!
