It's been over 10 years since Fredro Starr of Onyx dropped his last solo album. The growth and experience of Fredro really shines throughout this whole project. If you expected him to be loud and gutter and the beats to be hard, then you get schooled better. Fredro's vocals really compliment the beats of The Audible Doctor, his flow stays smooth throughout the whole album and the content is very real as well. Maybe it's the sound of The Audible Doctor, who produced all songs and recently teamed up with 50 Cent & Jay Electronica. Fredro shines with topics, storytelling and stays authentic. This is classic 90s street sound wrapped up in a 2014 New York state of mind and should not be missed in any good hip hop collection.

Comment: Fuggin go ahead Fredro. I don't know what I expected but it wasn't this. This is pleasingly surprising. I appreciate the sound here, 100% unexpected. Hit the road on tour, where can we see you?

Comment: This is Fredro as he should be sounding; gruff and heartfelt. AD did a good job on the boards. No classic in my book, but a listenable album through and through with some real good tracks on it. My favorites are “Everyday Hell” and “The Truth.”

Comment: Well it's all brought together Fredro. Good music, thought provoking lyrics. Longer would be little, because I would have listened longer.

Comment: Wow, I didn't see this one coming. No ridiculous album full of awful shouting like I'm used to from him and his Onyx brethren. It was cool in 1993 but come on, now it's just pathetic. However, this is an instant classic and will be the first Fredro album I have ever bought.

Comment: An amazing job with this one here! Simple but evident of how nice & crystal clear Mr. Fredro can lay down the foundation better than 98% of these rappers nowadays. "Everyday Hell" touches every poor SOB living in this concrete hell with a classic instrumental. "That NY" is a certified throwback. "This Ain't My Day" is an anthem to many of us unfortunately, lol. "Polo Wars" hits like gold for us RL heads & obsessed collectors of the pony & bear. Grind Time battle vet Philly Swain reps his sh*t alongside with Starr in the untouchable "Hit man 4 Hire". Other than "Racing" I liked it all! 5 star banger for me, only thing that can surpass this & Wakedafucup for 2014 will be perhaps Sean Price's "Niggletius" if it actually even drops this year. Other than that... this is the sh*t right here!

Comment: I have to say, at first I thought this was going to be wack. But after listening to these tracks, damn was I wrong. Good music, sick lyrics and definitely not the nonsense I was expecting.

Comment: No doubt, most definitely couldn't blame a soul for possessing doubt regarding the quality of any solo release from Onyx, but don't sleep on this joint. You might find yourself, at the very least, pleasantly surprised with this record. Not at all what most people are probably expecting, if there lays any expectations at all. This is very reminiscent of a missed era in hip hop from the past. Feels like a release from an artist fresh on the scene, hungry, full of passion, and with something to prove, not something designed by one of a group of artists who gained fame with records like, "Slam" and "Throw Ya Gunz". Such a welcomed departure from what we've come to expect from these Brooklyn cats.

Comment: I picked up the last two onyx CDs, little bit interested to see what this one brings to the table, being an old school Onyx fan. Hopefully this will be good, let's see a track listing, then you got my interest.

Comment: I think this will be better than the Onyx album although it gets old fast, we all know they ain't as hard as their music.
