    Summary

General Steele of Smif-N-Wessun returns with a new project entitled Amerikka's Nightmare Part 2 - Children Of War. Just last year, General Steele released "Welcome To Bucktown." General Steele's new CD is an epic look at the condition of our country and what each young black male & female who possess the knowledge, intelligence and drive needs to do to take a progressive stand against any powers that oppress him or her. General Steele touches on a broad range of topics including health care, education, unemployment, family values, warfare and religion.

Comment: I like his delivery on this album and the fact that he is tackling today's political and spiritual issues. I just wonder as to what made him go this direction with his lyrics. Never heard him this strong before. I like it and I recommend it.

Comment: steele was kickin some shit on this one. he is still the man, comin out hard, intelligent and creative with a fresh style and delivery to a very overexposed topic in the underground hip hop scene. everyone talks about big brother and the man, and how fucked and hopelessly evil the world is, but when steele does it it comes across as wise and creative. he has a proactive way of keeping the style fresh as fuck. the one part that brings this album way down is the cheap rock beats. somewhere between a psycho+logical- records rock metal remix and a cheap apathy beat (see: on & off the mic). and on the majority of the songs that don't have rock beats(only four or five have rock beats) you have very similar military snare drum patterns. that marching rolling snare

Comment: Odd to rate b/c its such a dope concept themed album, with mediocre beats, but effective beats nonetheless, and important lyrics ... The rock style beats seem an aloof attempt to capture a Chuck D P.E aggressive flow, but fail in that regards, if someone gave this too DOOM, or Madlib, maybe Rza and one of his bands, or a dude like Count Bass D and let them give us a remix and we may have a classic

Comment: I like most of this album (Amerikkka's Skemin, I Had A Vision, Amerikkka's Nightmare [Remix] and Tomorrow's Children are my favourites), but not really feeling the rock beats on some of the songs.
