Summary

Known for a unique blend of hip-hop and alt-soul, Grieves has co-produced 14 new tracks with B. Lewis, combining organic pianos and guitars with synthesizers; a dramatic backdrop for his vocals. Reflecting on growth and maturity, Winter & The Wolves is about the instinctual fight for survival. Finding yourself alone, facing hindrances to your livelihood, and having the courage to overcome them. Tackling subjects like addiction and heartbreak, Grieves signature combination of humor & gloom depict the inner turmoil between abandoning the dreams of his youth, and carving a new path for himself.

CD Packaging: Custom Die Cut 6-Panel Digi Pak, 12-Page Full Color Booklet Containing Album Lyrics.

Comment: LOL @ looks like McGlovin! Haha nailed it. I've tried to like this guy and I just can't. I've never liked anything he's done except for one song called 'Bloddy Poetry' and that song lasted on my playlist for about 2 days followed by a swift delete. Hate his voice, hate his delivery and YES I HATE THAT SINGY FLOW! Are you trying to get on that radio with this garbage? Grow some balls, call up Ant and maybe get a good beat and get into it for fuck sakes! You sound like a pussy! Stop ruining my hip hop. Fuck does Rhymesayers see in you. Only thing I give this guy props for is the fact he produces some of his own stuff…

Comment: Borderline 4 star. Lyrics and flow are on point as usual, too much of the production was soft/same-sounding though. Not that Grieves was really rapping over a lot of head nodders before, but still. Little too meh on the production for some of it. Although with that said, it's still been growing on me more and more.

Comment: Tired of the haters. I saw Grieves on the Happy Holidays tour at Abby Pub with Mac, Soulcrate,& have been hooked since. Most of these commentators do not know what they are looking to listen too. Grieves(with Budo)is another great innovative artist~(anyone can be a rapper), but he is beyond a rapper. I hate when people search for another young slug, which is NOT going to happen. Grieves is special and intelligent that can write better then 98% of true underground artist. I will buy every album and vinyl. (PS: I was one of the 10 people/fans there in Urbana, IL during the crazy death storm, which also introduced me to macklemore in his San Fran Giants jacket. I'm grateful I made the trip. Thank you Benjamin & Ben. You changed my life more than you could ever know. -Andrew Chacho, Champaign-Urbana, IL

Comment: hahahahaha, funny dudes on the internet be trolling for sure! on some real shit tho, I for one know the difference between real and fake MCs.. and unfortunately I do believe Grieves to fall under the latter category :( srry, yall. Slugs def. gotten weak in the more modern Atmos shit, but any fool with a set of ears can recognize a biter and Grieves I have to agree si just thatt. ol' SLuggo never should have signed dude to Rhymesayers. period.

Comment: Grieves is a phenomenal artist. His lyrics are incredibly illuminating and authentic. A voice forged in inner struggle is the most authentic of all - and makes for one hell of an artist. That's why Slug signed him. Not really familiar with B. Lewis but definitely looking forward to this release.

Comment: funny that the previous comment said "straightup clown' and includes Slug in plain text and I really have to assume that Ghoul The Fly dont know a thing about Rhymesayers and wasnt really a underground head since the mid to late 90's about 18 years ago. SADCLOWN BAD DUB now look that up! now that I thought twice about the comment it almost seems like a complement to grieves lol SAD CLOWN GET IT!!! probably dont know the difference between EMCEEING AND RAPPING and brainwashed to think like the rest of the trendy ass teenie boppers to think its all about trendy raps and not using your mind like Emcees do.

Comment: WOW last time the Zae of course San Ho that is... had any relation to Rhymesayers (Atmosphere) Eyedea Abilities J.E.L. and also the Anticon camp at the time to be exact in 2001 or 2 or maybe 2000 was when the Cactus Club in Downtown San Jose was around, on the corner of 1st and san salvador sofa district. Well im talking about B. Lewis straight out of the Zae, who also did a remix for 'Scale it Back' a Dj Shadow Song with Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano. something you would probably expect like at a venue like Low End Theory or a Broiler Room Event. Grieves and B. Lewis is quite a combination. and the mid west definitely still got flava..... and...im...out!!!
