Comment: i played this album at first and almost threw it in the trash angry that I had been ripped off. something stopped me and im glad because this album has a funny way of growing on you. its very unique in its approach which creates for a very replayable and enjoyable listen. this may not be for everybody i.e if you are a jedi mind tricks/ apollo brown fanboy you probably wont enjoy this very much. its a pretty consistent sound throughout and I only had 2 tracks that I felt really should have been left off ( back on the road again, cali hills) lyrics are great on both but the beats are just not up to par with the rest of the album. and if you cant stand the skits download the digital version and you will still be left with 12 songs equating to a good listen for those who cant sit through the random clips of blaxploitation and comedy skits of old. I felt ode to the ghetto lacked a certain maturity that oj simpson managed to capture with guitys lyrics. and the consistent sound makes for a really enjoyable listen with something to discover with each listen.

Comment: Too many dumb madlib interludes beats are esoteric and boring. Best tracks are OJ Simpson, trendsetters, and coroner's music. Disapointing album for two dope artists.

Comment: Ode to the Ghetto spoiled me pretty bad. These beats are horrible. After hearing this album I'm starting to think that Madlib has lost his edge. 1 Star for Guilty, 0 for Madlib.

Comment: This album is all skits and interludes and almost zero lyrics. I would save your money, this is weak for Guilty and Madlib.

Comment: This album really grew on me. After the first couple plays I wasn't feeln' it. Now I love it. Very clever radio spots/skits mixed throughout. One track has kind of a commercialized hook but when Guilty starts to rhyme my concerns fade away. DO NOT LET THE 3 STAR RATING DETER YOU FROM PICKING UP THIS ALBUM. It is street certified by The White Rapper! (Leroy Jenkins)

Comment: MADLIB RUINED THIS ALBUM!!!!! Guilty would have been better off rapping over a metronome click track. When the beats and the vocals come together they are pretty decent. But all of these interludes put me to sleep. I actually had to put them in a different playlist to try to get something that sounded anything like a rap album. Don't get me wrong, Guilty is DOPE....Madlib is also DOPE, but so many interludes and cheesy comedian cuts make this album impossible to enjoy.

Comment: this album is ahead of its time, just like madvillainy. not saying it's just as good, but it's decent. there are a few skippable tracks, but I seen how madlib went with this; it seems like he wanted the album to flow together like a music trip.. He forgot that the majority of people have short attention span and want something quick to get into, I suggest the strong arm steady x madlib album, for easy lsitening..

Comment: Something's seriously weird with this website that people rated this album to 2.8 but somehow June Marx and Lone Ninja are getting like 4 to 5 star reviews... Guilty can flow and Madlib has some of the best production around, but I guess it doesn't sound close enough to pre 2000 wu-tang or early Necro to be "dope" around here these days... Maybe I'll try to make an album with over 10 year old sounding production and monotone raps with no flow to see if I can get a 5 star rating on UGHH

Comment: I can totally understand Madlib's artistic way of approaching things. But Man! Way too many interludes, and long for no reason. I like to bump my music but before each song I'm totally confused. this project might have been better in the hands of OhNo. lyrically I think Guilty is on point but the beats drown him out. I can barely nod my head. but you know what? I'ma shelf for know it maybe I'm just not ready.

Comment: This album is horrible, too many interludes, tracks not long enough & weak beats.I thought this album would be more like the Percee P albums...I was wrong...I hope Madlib remixes this album like Percee 's P 2nd album...One of worst albums I've purchased this year.

Comment: COUPLE OF THING. MADLIB BEST COLLABO WORK IS " MADVILLIANARY" THAT PRODUCTION AND ALBUM WILL NEVER BE TOPPED. AFTER THAT HE DEF HOOKED UP STRONG ARM STEADY WITH MASSIVE HEAT ON THEIR ALBUM. O.J. SIMPSON ALBUM HAS TOO MANY INTERLUDES, WAY TOO MANY. SO ANNOYING. I GOTTA SAY THO, THE ACTUAL TRACKS ARENT BAD AT ALL. NOT AMAZING, BUT DEF DECENT. I ALSO BELIEVE HE COULDNT GIVEN GUILTY BETTER PRODUCTION THEN THIS. DECENT ALBUM THOUGH...

Comment: Body doubles, Bama's, and long interludes... I apprecieate another invasion, just not of the blind. This "artistic" work to perpetuate cowardace deserves NO purchase... Intermittently layed, nominal punchlines between empty threats and token shufflin just don't f@#*in impress, let alone move me. Virtuos production, absoloutely surmounts rapidly drowning, underweight rapper sniffing his own lines. Guiltless tracks: 5) New Heights 12) Hood Sentence 23) 100 Styles (second half) all three are rare form, the rest is filler and TARNISH... Structurally speaking, I'll wait for the instrumental. Attack the wack, attack the wack, attack the...

Comment: This album is hard to take in for a Guilty Simpson album. This album sounds just like the medicine show 1 which I liked alot. Now on this album I wasn't expecting all the interludes. I was expecting something like The Stoney Jackson album where Madlib just did the beats and let the MC's take care of buisness. Instead Madlib takes over this album and doesn't let Guilty shine. This is more of a Madlib album than a Guilty Simpson album. Album is great only if it didn't have any interludes.

Comment: They were trying to recreate the madvilliany magic, but everything flowed well on that classic album from start to finish. Nothing flows well on this oj simpson album and that's why it's a fail. there are only 2 salvageable tracks for me - hood sentence and mic check 313

Comment: WTF is that interlude bullsh*t?!? You gotta delete half the album to even get something close to a coheisive listen and its not even that good then. How can you make an album with the focus not on its actual songs, thats just wrong.

Comment: Agree w/ the popular opinion here..madlib gets carried away with his comedy records and random sampling for half of the album..and that doesnt include to two back to back 4 minute interludes WTF..i get that its OJ Simpson but the main focus should have been GS gettin nice not Madlib going off on sample solos..but fuck all that cause the tracks are BANGIN 3 5 6 14 17 21 n 23 all r dope .

Comment: madlib overshadowed guilty simpson the whole album, after every track was some wack interlude that madlib must have shit out in two seconds, slow down madlib and concentrate on one project at a time, this had potential to be classic if it was 17 tracks long with no interludes, just straight guilty, but this was the madlib show once again

Comment: ehh..should of been more of a focus on guiltys lyrical skill..but it seemed like it was more instrumental experimental..the best beat on the album was 100 stylez to me..and it was only a minute somethin long...i would of gave it a 3.5

Comment: Solid pace (as per preview) ... Madlib is a genius at both production and projects and few can handle him, he's a problem! and Guilty per usual brings it with hard hitting, yet intelligent witty lyrics ... I dig the longevity this one seems to have, and the rtrn to projects by so many emcees and prod.

Comment: The album's aight, WAY too many interludes and skits. Out of 24 tracks, there are only like 11 of that are actually tracks that Guilty spit on. That's not even half and that's kind of shitty.

Comment: solid album and good addition to any hip hop heads collection , however at 24 tracks I wish there were more tracks with guilty than just 12 - this sounds more like a madlib album featuring guilty simpson.- not a full collab album .

Comment: 4 out of 5 stars The whole album is a banger. However, I wish that there was an abbreviated version without all the bullshit between verses. In my opinion Mablid puts too much fluff in the tracks. Is this the Baroque period of artsy hip hop beats or what? No, matter, Guilty saves the day his verses are ill. The entire album is available at Stones Throw. Check it out.
