One of the most renowned and continually relevant hip-hop emcees of all time, GZA returns with his long awaited fifth solo album, Pro Tools, which features guest spots from RZA, Masta Killa, Justice Kareem, True Master & many more. An original member of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, GZA has established himself as a perennial force in hip-hop over his 13+ year solo career. Recently, GZA's contributions have driven the phenomenal success of the 2008 Wu-Tang Clan reunion album 8 Diagrams as well as two of independent hip-hop's recent flagship releases: Think Differently Music: Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture and the DJ Muggs/GZA collaboration Grandmasters.
With an entrenched and rabidly loyal fan base, "Pro Tools" marks the long awaited return of one of hip-hop's most revered and respected emcees.
True heads stand up...The Genius has finally returned.

Comment: I bought this MONTHS ago and never listened to it... opened it and never heard it. Rockin it now and GZA is STILL insane with the lyrics. One of the best lyricists in teh entire game. Seriously... had to scroll to be sure I didn't diss this but I didn't. I was half way to a very public balls kissing apology. Way up. Style is fresh as the salad bar in the morning. Dude is NICE!!!!!

Comment: Copped a vinyl copy of this within a week of release in the US and the doe was well spent!!!No where as good as 'Liquid Swords' but no one expected that! Gza has never sold out and in his solo joints has produced hiphop in its purest art form! Pencil the 1st track happens to be the peak of this album for me as both Gza and Rza killed the mic with dope verses!!

Comment: GZA's killin' it as usual. Tight as a deadman's neck tie. I used to listen to the WU as a kid and who would've thought they could save hip hop from it's bitch ass commercial demise? Banging, they're all bangers in their own right. Cop that shit.

Comment: A decent album obviously as it's coming from the Genius, but I don't see how any of these people are calling it a 5star joint. The first few songs are great and 'paper plate' is the real banger... but other than the first 3 tracks and that the beats are a disappointment. If your like me, you have to buy it just because its The Genius, but be warned it's not one of his best LP's.

Comment: it's ok, I really don't feel the hunger anymore and the mind tingling beats aren't there any more. it lacks passion. I liked rza latest album, how ironic that him and nas used the same song "no matter how hard you try u can't stop us now". they do better together. the are not ghostface, or raekwon. the beats sound fimiliar.

Comment: dope album. Lyrically off the hook GZA well real heads know but O % percent Finanace speaks for itself. But some of the beats are a litte off for a GZA album, Short race, Firehouse(where is Gza on that away come on what a wasted track)Life is a Movie at first listen I was like what the hell RZA's been smoking, but a few listens, it's dope. The thing of Rza that he is just trying to come up with something different. Think about he was one of him and Primo the shit in the 90's RZA was so ahead of the time with his 90's production. Anyway about this GZA I rate it Third of his best albums 1st of corse liquid swords and then that grandmasters. Gza should have more kats from Babygrande rec on their. LIke duh Hell Razah, Black Sky Blue Death, maybe at least one kat from that Snowgoons u know. But like I said Lyrically Gza is at his finest just sounds like they could made this album a true banger, but that's the industry. By the way my copy got at best buy got curse words scratched out. Does not really make a diffence, but would like to know if all the albums are like like. peace to the real heads

Comment: Damn, GZA is one of the few emcee's that new cats can't bite, he's too metaphorical to be copied by dumb asses. And, I REALLY hope this isn't pushed back...but I can wait, it'll be worth it.

Comment: I;m with you FrankyBunz, Gza is my favorite too. To me he's the best one in the crew. All I gotta say is Liquid Swords is classic and no one can touch that one. Alot heads sleep on him, but he can destroy alot of cats out there with just one verse. Trust me.

Comment: -GZA strikes like a quiet assassin. If this is the cover, it's pretty ill. GZA got deep lyrics/metaphors for days:"Energy is felt, once the cards are dealt, with the impact of roundhouse kicks from Black Belts..." Keep swinging them swordz yo!

Comment: This could be a monster, or it could be an absolute dud. There won't be an in-between. It'll be hard for Gza to top Grandmasters, though.

Comment: If the rumour about Bronze Nazareth doing production for this is true, I think we may have a candidate for album of the year.
