    Product Details

Immortal Technique, the most radical revolutionary rap lyricist to hit wax, combines with Green Lantern and a gang of like-minded MCs to produce THE 3RD WORLD, a furious mixtape which is perhaps Immortal Technique's best work to date. The title track is a compelling summary of all the Harlem rapper has proclaimed in his past verses, as he reworks Jay-Z's "Where I'm From" into a scathing diagnosis of the state of the world in the 21st century.

Tech also breaks down the power structures behind NYC gentrification on "Harlem Renaissance," deconstructs accepted understandings of "pimp" on "Reverse Pimpology," and examines corporate privatization on "Open Your Eyes." Violent, angry, and unabashedly challenging, THE 3RD WORLD is everything hardcore hip-hop should be.

Comment: I just can't play this album enough since I saw Tech live at the Troc. in November. Well thought out lyrics and sick beats. Beats on track 2 are hypnotizing. Favorites are 2,7, Hollywood Driveby, I made a mistake, and the two with Poison Pen--11 and hidden track that closes the album. Cool to meet Tech for the first time. He's true underground and makes time for his fans. If you can't take the real go listen to Soulja boy and rest of of those clowns who sellout so the 1% rich can try to control and kill hip-hop. Viva La Revolucion and long live the underground! Ready for Volume III.

Comment: In the past we so call hiphop decade alot albums collabrations, super groups been thrown against the wall and hope shit sticks. Then there's Immortal Technique he's not also battle mc he makes good raw music shit that u wanna press rewind. The callabo with Lantern not as hot as vol.1 and 2 or silenced revolution but a banger. Their's some songs that could be air play but nowadays u have to settle for T-queer and Lil mumble's. Through it all he's just ill hopefully he goes back to vol.1 and 2 hunger...out

Comment: Give it a chance. I didn't like it a lot at first and was bout to trade it in. I kept it and grew onto it. No doubt it's not like the Rev. series, but it's legit and targets the industry AND the gov't. This coupled w/ the Rev. series is a contended for G.O.A.T.

Comment: That is true...there are a lot of D!## riders who did jump on the bandwagon because he's "political" or because he's latino. A lot people came out of the woodwork for him, but got no love for Hip-Hop...there's a real problem there! This is probably his worst album..Revolutionary 1 was the best album he put out.

Comment: 1 can appriciate the knowledge u drop for these young bucks. they certainly need it but we need to be careful wat we inspire them to.its not the governments of the world that is the problem but the people who run them n there economy ex. cuba, russia, english empire, roman empire, religion itself n the US. 2 those I say "power tends to corrupt n absolute power corrupts absolutely" 2 u IM-tech I say "when u blame others u give up ur power 2 change".i am for the knowledge u speak!!and to put it clearly the best shit put out there by tech is POVERTY OF PHILOSOPHY

Comment: Where's the accapella?!? Dropping pure knowledge as usual ... but most of them beats are awful! We ain't askin a lot, just a simple headknodin' beat so we can absorb the lyrics to the fullest. Still supporting the cause though, but I hope the upcoming LP won't lack from behind the boards. PS> no matter the complexion of the president, the house will always be cocaine WHITE and the lawn, blood money GREEN! Allez tous vous faire foutre bandes de salopards! viva Hugo Chavez!

Comment: This has got to be the tightest album of the YEAR! Wit so much knowledge, US histoty, anti-globalism, curruption and so many other topics covered in this album it's no wonder n*ggas can't understand the pure talent, raw skill and balls that Immortal Techinque got!!! Death March, 3rd World and Parole are clear examples of what im talkin about! And the fact that Green Lantern mixes the project jus adds anotha level of authentisity.... This is what Real Revolutionary Sounds like snitches! Even tho u dont need it, much respect from true hip hop latinos Tech! But please RMX Lickshots cuz the hook is weak...

Comment: It's a shame he's gotta ruin all that lyrical talent with the bullshit he writes about, fake street communist clown ass shit. Industrial Revolution might be the tightest song ever written by any man, ever, period. But this angry clown and his verbal diatribes gots to move on. Does this clown really think if Obama or Mccain wins makes a difference? We need to be parents to our children first. My Mom and Pop made me go to school, made me do my homework, made me have a curfew. Bush, all these politicians, they got nothing to do with us being poor, it's you, do something. And HEY IMMORTAL! Give me something I can nod my head to while I count all my earnings, and maybe I'll float $14.97 your way. But this crap? Never, Hip Hops in trouble if this clown is the #1 seller on UGHH... RIP Dilla.

Comment: Immortal technique cant do anything bad, brotha has mad skills and a crazy grip on our social system and its flaws. that said the 3rd world is disappointing.. It seems like he was more concerned with the production than with the substance of each track. His last album came out years ago and they were instant classic. With so much time preping up and touring he shoulda came out with deeper dirtier and soulful music. I dont think he sold out but it sounds like hes buying in...

Comment: Truly dissapointing. Beats were poor and so was the rapping. Tech is redundant. Why even put out a CD if it's only makes one reminiscent of Rev. Vol. 2? Instead of another revolutionary CD, we get a diluted attempt...

Comment: Tech fell off. The beats and the rhymes on this cd a disapointing. Rev. vol. 1 and 2 are both classics this cd was an error hopfully the middle passage has some differant producers. Seems as if 2 and 2 equal 3 on this disc.

Comment: I give it for track 1 and 7 where hot, chino xl stepped up on his verse, the only songs I couldnt really deal with because the beats didnt match that well, payback had some dope lyrics, lyrically it was a pretty good album, but I hope the middle passage is doper

Comment: Yet again Tech shows his prolific stance against this weak mainstream shit, however DJ green lantern needs to stick to his day job of looping the candy coated suckers boggin down the radio waves. Tech is just to much depth in what he brings to this art form to be translated though elementary beats that lantern laced w/ a side of a lot of weak collabos.

Comment: three stars strictly for the lyrical content. Dj green lantern please dont ever do a colab with an underground legend. Your beats hurt my ears, I had to suffer through the beats and strictly listen to the lyrics, which were good as I expected. Immortal ditch this green lantern guy and let em work with main stream rappers.
