Comment: I am agreeing wit Klaus on this one and am giving it 4 stars. Knowledge Nick brings back that time in hip hop where lyrics were poetry. Think Fashawn, Blu, and other West Coast MC's who have tried to bring back that soulful spoken from the heart kind of hip hop. Knowledge Nick falls right in this category. You will not be disappointed with this album, Nick can only go uphill.

Comment: Do you ever hear a song and try to guess the decade it was made? Synthesizer? Probably 80s. Auto-Tune? Modern day and why are you listening to that? Knowledge Nick’s “The Transcribed Sentiment”? Uh...hmmm... I would have guess 1990s. Even the album cover and photography features the Memphis hip-hop artist with a large boom-box, not a tiny iPod. The album isn’t retro. It’s not a homage to the old days. It’s a fresh new work that would fit in well with The Pharcyde and Tribe Called Quest. In fact, Knowledge Nick’s style reminds me of a sped up Phife Dawg. The tracks with guest rappers stand out with my favorite being “License to Kill” with Jason da Hater. “The Flow” and “Slave to the Rhythm” with Royal T (and Infinito 2017 on the latter) also have been on a repeat playlist for me. The album is a DIY project of Knowledge Nick who has been making a presence for himself in the Hip-Hop scene including performances at Mic Check Hip Hop Unification Summit and his record release show at Young Ave Deli. “The Transcribed Sentiment” is available at Spin Street and online download at Bandcamp.

Comment: Lyrics, Dope, Off the Chain are a few of the words that could be used to describe this album and they ALL would be correct. Knowledge Nick spits his Heart and Soul on this album in a way that will move you like hearing ATCQ, Dela Soul, etc for the first time. This is a MUST have album and worth more than some of the Hip-Hop albums that are being sold for more. Support Real Hip-Hop Support Knowledge Nick.
