Comment: Kool Keith and Sir Menelik should team up like an EPMD album and crush all the wackness going on in the rap world these days. I would get 2 copies and keep one in the plastic.

Comment: This album is very interesting and kept me laughing the whole time. This dude still raps about peeing on audiences and throwing used diapers at you and leaving a turd in every toilet in your ten bedroom house! If you have a warped sense of humor definitely pick this up, or Kool Keith will leave diarrea on your car, he said so himself on track 5!

Comment: HAHA! I like you astro. You're honest. I am crazy. But I just like to get people worked up on message boards. I get off on their reactions. Best Kept Secret ain't critical, BUT, I wasn't expecting it to be. I just think songs like "pop bottles" and "party started" were just garbage. Vibrato and mechanism nice were pretty dope though. I'm just brutally honest. Some people call it hating. I'm not hating. If it's good, it's good. If it's wack...well, you know the answer. Just really really don't feel his tracks at all. I don't know what to say. It's like, I think Lil Wayne is garbage. So if I say all his shit is wack, am I being a hater??? I think it's just my opinion.

Comment: LMAO @ General zod ...i'm junkaz you're kutmastakurt... ....drug abuse and multiple personality issues. at least everybody out here can see that you ain't criticising you're just hatin.. you probably have personal issues with junkaz (the real one) or with kool keith himself..who knows....by the way the god of rap on the docdoom2 is a hit got it on heavy rotation..but kutmastakurt didn't have a good album since sex style. I could agree with you on most though..tashan ain't octo ...best kept secret ain't critical beatdown dr doom is ok... but the way you're straight dissin ppl...doesn't sound good. and calling me junkaz is just another way to diss him that's a shame ppl would jump on fan threads tryin to down people's work..? I'm giving this album 5 stars you're giving it half a star or none ...cool ..we're done..

Comment: @the jeneral, I was referring to the last Ultra album "best kept secret". Have you heard it? There are two tracks that are extremely purposely done for commercial/radio appeal. Doesn't sound ultra at all. "poppin bottles" and "party started". Listen to those tracks and tell me they are not wack. Sounds like they are trying to do something "with the times" instead of being ultramagnetic. My opinion. Dooom2 smokes tashan dorsett. That album was a piece of shit. Something I wouldn't even let my dog hear. Beats were waaaaay better , and the lyrical performance much more entertaining. Simon, run for your life and creepin are way better than anything on both of these crappy, lazy tashan albums. @livin astro(junkaz) at least I liked some of your album i.e the tracks you didn't produce. hahahahaha

Comment: Hold up homeboi, I just read that shit you put out General Zod about "TRYING TO STAY RELEVANT WHEN YOUNG KIDS DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT ULTRA AND NEITHER DOES THE RADIO". Lol, that's why this site is called UGHH cause it don't appeal or apply to the radio or the mainstream...thought you knew that by now. You seem to know your hip-hop (as far as stating Red Alert and Ultramag) so when you sayin' young kids don't give a shit about Ultra, lol who gives a shit about that. I'm not tryin' to appeal to the youth. So what if they don't like Ultramagnetic, point is I dig the mafuckas just like I dig, Kane, Special Ed, EPMD, Main Source, Tribe, Nas, N.W.A, The Liks, Jungle Bros., KRS-1, Kool G. Rap, and so on. Thought this shit was about appreciating the music and the talent behind it...not trying to stay in with the times of kids 13-19 lol. WTF was that all about homeboi?! No my dude you sound like a hater or a follower at best. Come on man, change that phrase or somethin' or just don't say no silly shit like that cuz. You was doin' good with your own opinion...lol, then that shit just went left field.

Comment: General Zod, I already know BAIT was released on DJ Red Alert's album. They just rereleased CRITICAL BEATDOWN (at least here in Japan) with the 12in. vinyl of BAIT featured on the rerelease which is definitely a dope track. I mentioned Ultramag cause after reading some of these reviews I think a lot of these cats think Kool Keith is a new dude in hip-hop when in fact bruh's been doing his thing for a minute...I'ont really care for the Tashan joint either, but Keith got a little longevity than most dudes out now so I'm paying homage.

Comment: The Domingo and Marley Tracks are cool. Tr's joint is ill. I agree with the other cat below. Otherwise this album is not very good at all. If you want a good recent Keith album, checkout Dr.Dooom 2. This is horrrible....

Comment: I got three different personalities with different opinions. They all think Junkaz is wack though. And you are not giving an opinion. You are asking a question. Big difference. Agree with Dookie Brown. I think the TR LOVE tracks were nice. The rest were straight trash compactor joints.

Comment: Nobody is expecting critical beatdown forever. I'm just expecting something good. Are you saying "pop bottles" and "party started" are ultra tracks? That shit is garbage. Trying to stay relevant when young kids don't give a shit about ultra and neither does the radio. You sound like a hater. Hatin on peoples opinions.

Comment: @CRAPA are we talking about the same guy ??? lmao lets end the discussion now it could last forever. I agree Lil Wayne should pick up some of his beats though bc he ain't nothing but ORIGINAL and PRO (amateur? you really sound like a hater and where the f*** did you hear something from him that could sound like lil wayne anyway ???) i've been diggin most his most of his stuff except the french releases and the homie is talented indeed.. didn't know he was from france until I cop the DVD on the first tashan. Would you happen to diss a brother because he ain't from the states ? that's retarded. anyway the legend of tashan is a good project not keith's best album but its still fresh and the artwork is rad can't wait to get the vinyl i'm a TRUE Kool Keith & Ultramagnetic fan @general zod the best kept secret you can't expect critical beatdown forever ...ya'll stuck in a time zone. drop your ipods and go get yourself some bass...... anybody giving this release less than 4 stars.... go kill yourself (peace out crapa :)) best cuts : supa supreme Tashan... above sea level flow smooth

Comment: Yo Jeneral...first off, Bait was never on Critical Beatdown. It was on a Red Alert album. Second, did you happen to hear their last album "best kept secret"? SHit should have stayed a secret and never released. Third, this is supposed to be a review for Tashan Dorsett, not ultramagnetic.

Comment: I'll be the first to admit that over decades Keith's flow has been questionable, but the man and his crew known as "The Ultramagnetic MC's" is damn near legendary. The 1988 album CRITICAL BEATDOWN is by far one of the best albums ever produced by a hip-hop crew next to the EPMD's, Native Tongue's, The Juice Crew's, Wu-Tang's, and etc. So for that reason alone I have to give dude his respect and props because he's been doin' this shit since day one, even when I had ULTRAMAG's shit on tape in the walkman back in the 3rd grade and shit. Listen to shit like "BAIT" off of the CRITICAL BEATDOWN album and maybe you can hear/see what I'm sayin'. Weird, offbeat, intelligent, paranoid sometimes? Hell yeah! But the man was an icon in hip-hop's golden years so for that, respect is given!

Comment: Shit I've listened to some of Kool Keith's shit and I always liked it. Alot of people would flat-out dis but I would always stand up for Kool Keith, now I don't know what to think and I don't wonna check other people's opinion but some of these "new" producers plainly SUCK DICK, they spoil the style of a very credible artist who could've done this album by himself.

Comment: nah, not hate. Just don't like his beats. That's all. In my opinion , he's boring. And amateur at best. I can sit here and critique his stuff, but to the point...it's boring. Un-original, un-inventive. Sounds like stuff Lil Wayne would like. Which I think is very non creative stuff. In my opinion, there is no heart or soul. It sounds very synthetic. The sounds are tired and have been overused. Never sent Keith beats. I'm just a fan. I know my place. And I have a right to my opinion. You put your stuff out for evaluation, you get evaluated. Peace out Junkaz.

Comment: @crapadelic I respect your opinion you have the right to dislike his sound .But sayin'he's garbage and trash is pure hate its not about giving your opinion. I LOVE Junkaz sound period. There is a difference between critics and hate you just sound like you're hatin (fo real - whats wrong homie? you sent keith some beats he wouldn't pick up ?)@ Milly Vanilly : got you homie. Oh and all you fans thinking Kool Keith will get stuck into Dr Octagon forever : YOU're wack as hell. RIP octogon.

Comment: @livin astro. Not talkin shit. Just my opinion homie. Junkaz is garbage. I really hate his beats. Sound like keyboard trash. He should probably be working with Lil Wayne or some other down south bullshit. Cuz that's what his crap sounds like. tashan Dorsett was wack because of his beats and Keith lazy flow. Marley and Domingo are dope. I just can't stand Junkaz. Just my opinion. Keith is and will always be a legend and one of the greatest of all time. Not junkaz though. Straight trash.
