Comment: im givin this shit 1 star. it aint even worth that. I am insulted by this n*gga and i'm glad there are individuals on this site who feel the same way cuz if we were to write these observations on any other site, his stupid little fans brand us as "haters". they justify their liking to him by stating that "he makin money". artistry and credibility are NOT based on bank accounts. I wish these little cunts would get that through their empty fuckin heads. everytime I read a response that goes "wayne hot, he makin money, he got swag"...i swear to christ I could slide a blade across their fuckin throats. wayne is GARBAGE and his entire young money crew embody everything that's wrong with the industry.

Comment: Jesus this sucks. I'm a guy who's listened to Lil Wayne back in his Cash Money days, and I can say this sucks. For a Rap/Rock album, this ain't no RATM or even Limp Bizkit (and even Fred Durst is a better rapper). Wayne decides to sing horribly. Some of the beats on here have some potential with some good guitars, synths & drums. Wayne, of course, is a love it or hate it on this- and it's mostly hate.

Comment: No I think this site has a perfect name... "Underground", period. And I also know that THEY know what reflects Hip-Hop culture, hence the reason why both Lil Wayne's "Rebirth" and N.E.R.D.'s "Seeing Sounds" are advertised through the site. And that goes back to what I was sayin earlier about how a lot of people think that music has to be either black or white. Like there can't be NO in-between, NO gray area. You can like it, or not like it. It's whatever. But you really cannot say it's NOT Hip-Hop at all, because Hip-Hop is MUCH more than just lyrics. That's all I been tryin to say on this page, trying to get people to look at the history of Hip-Hop and its progress over time.

Comment: Hey Chris, I am awake and already doing my early morning jog. Point taken. "Walk This Way" was just one song, but so was "Rock Box" and "King of Rock". Their entire rap style was Rock N' Roll-influenced. Plenty of Hip-Hop artists have used Rock N' Roll in their albums, like Lupe Fiasco, OutKast, and Gnarls Barkley. That's because Hip-Hop in itself is a fusion of a lot of different genres made into one. How can you call it a "sell-out" if an artist leans one way or the other. You're looking for "whole album" examples, so here's a better one for you... N.E.R.D.'s Seeing Sounds album. Both Hip-Hop and Rock in it's finest.

Of course he has good metaphors but he beat selection is stait up wack . O yeah, this is 2 J-Aura. "Walk this Way" was just one song not a whole album dumb#$%! THIS IS NOT HIP HOP, WAKE UP!!!!!

Comment: Man I love it. If artists use the auto-tune properly and creatively (i.e. sparingly), and not just abuse it, I think it makes for good music period. Hence Lupe's "Shining Down", Hip-Hop in it's finest. I haven't heard Redman's joint yet, but I will check it out...

Comment: LOL @ BrownBall. Respect to ya. I feel ya on that one, man, for the most part. But I don't think the hostility should be directed at Wayne though. I ain't defendin him or the Rebirth album on THIS particular comment, but... It seems like it's either black or white with a lot of folks nowadays, like there can't be no gray area when it comes to Hip-Hop. The gray area leaves room for experimental moves and sounds. I think Wayne is an average "lyrical" artist at best, maybe a lot worse to everyone else here, and I won't disagree with you. But I know FOR SURE, that he's way better of an MC than the likes of some other one-hit wonder artists who xerox copies of each other and fall off quickly. It's the supply and demand of the overall game right now. To me, the "supply" we all here love (the hottest intricate lyrics that an MC can possibly put down) is simply not in high "demand", due to the superficial, naive, oblivious, yet ambitious promoters of mainstream media in America today. BET, MTV, radio. Thank God that we even have places like UGHH that still promote a lil bit of everything. And so respectfully, I don't think that UGHH put Weezy on this site just to serve as a novelty poster that people can come by, point their finger at, and get a couple few giggles. I think they acknowledge the more positive "demand" of the game, of both a mainstream and underground Hip-Hop fanbase, for artists that can move the crowd and still test the waters for something new and fresh for the audience. To each, his opinion to that "supply" created in the process. By the way, for the more stubborn of ears here, my boy Lupe Fiasco is on the auto-tune now with the song "Shining Down" off his upcoming Lasers album. Hate or love the auto-tune movement, THAT song... is definitely going to be Top 5 songs of 2010, to me. We'll see how the year progresses, maybe Top 10. Either or, still HOT FIRE. Is that gray area I mentioned a lil clearer for everyone here or is Lupe gonna be scraped away in the Delete Spam box like Weezy? No, of course they are NOWHERE near the same lyrically, but still... I'm just wondering...

Comment: WOW… HipHop has not changed at all… People just don't know what HipHop is… at all. They see rap music and call it HipHop. I don't care which one of these mainstream gay-rods you see bopping their heads at awards shows, that support is as fake as the titles they claim. On that note 1) Weezy is not HipHop because he's not. If you know the sound then the question is irrelevant. This is not the sound… 2) SOMEBODY likely put this album up by way of the slip of a finger…likely the middle… drunken stupor because he sucks. 3) He shouldn't take the blame but realize his contributions to what EVERYONE has freely dubbed HipHop. Break Music or not… what the hell ever… this is not even an ascendant of THOSE greats. Who the HELL called it rap music then? I don't even care anymore about the history as much as I do the purity. The history is lost to some… I know it but can't school clowns because Weezy is winning Freestyle battles in people's heads against MCs he wouldn't DARE call out… EVER. When someone who never knew hears THIS garbage, they may see this clown as a pioneer. He has pioneered NOTHING except the clear path to trash. HipHop is no way other than the way it has always been… people just forgot what it sounds like. Weezy… would you like to demonstrate to us what Hip Hop does NOT sound like (proceeds to mumble some trash… make some elementary rhymes… chokes on cock smoke… $hits own pants) Okayyyyy… maybe you should excuse yourself, son. Any more questions????

This is a bad album but it will sell because 90 percent don't know what good music is, and he's on everything 24 hrs a day... The new Sade is fire thou....Little Wayne is a false

Comment: not feelin it. its for kids that like to sing along like karaoke at a club to a pile of dog shit. hardly any good rappers on the mainstream nowadays. theyre a few I dont mind. I miss the flows and real lyrical shit. most of the stuff on the radio now sounds like whack techno music with weak punch lines.

Comment: Yeah LARS, we might make a good MC duo, call the group "Bullet Proof Soul". That's hot, right? LOL Actually, that's not completely original. I got that from the title of a song by Sade. By the way, she has a new 2010 album out called "Soldier of Love" that is hot as hell and revolutionary in sound. It's been like 10 years since her last one...

Comment: WOW! All these comments for lil' ol' me and LARS? Thank you, I feel honored. Who would've thought just simply acknowledgin' a little experimental value in Lil' Wayne's record would have ruffled y'alls feathers so much! LOL It's really not that serious. If I come off as "self-righteous", I apologize, cuz I do not intend to be. I'ma stand behind my opinion of this album, but I'm not gonna press any further on it. Respect to those who gave it an honest listen, and I don't want you to hear it anymore than you have to. I agree with D-TRAIN, the underground IS a genuine movement of Hip-Hop, but I feel that not all of the MC's of the underground are gonna reflect the same type of flow that y'all are accustomed to. I am NOT sayin that Weezy is underground. But to me, with 16 albums in the game, Pastor Troy will always be an ATL underground legend. Killer Mike too, who made a STRONG stance with "I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind". I will also say that I am a mainstream lover as well because I know for a fact that Hip-Hop wouldn't be Hip-Hop without it. You wouldn't even have people in Sweden listening to it (LOL @ LARS) if it hadn't blown up globally through the radio. In fact, (and y'all should already know this, I'm not tryin' to play y'all or school y'all) Hip-Hop wasn't even called "Hip-Hop" when FIRST started. It was just "break music" until the industry dubbed it as "Hip-Hop", takin' from what was originally Grandmaster Caz's line "I said-a Hip, Hop, Hippy, the Hippy to the Hippity Hip Hip Hop, and ya don't stop..." I understand that Lil' Wayne is average at best as an MC, but my question to y'all is... 1. Why do y'all feel like Weezy is NOT "Hip-Hop"? 2. Why is he on this site at all then? and 3. Why do you feel like Weezy should take the blame for the way Hip-Hop is now? Let me get an answer outside the usual "FUCK this bubble gum shit, UGHH take this off!!!"

Comment: PREACH D-Train... LOVES that ISH!!!!!!! For the puppy Jamal who asked "...what the hell Aesop Rock be talkin about?" Wow... Aesop is in my Top 5. It is crazy that people can't wrap their minds around complexity. I am not challenging your intelligence, but maybe YOU should. Aesop is a genius. The dude is a poet. I saw him live like a year ago and could have passed out on the heat the man spits live. HipHop is sickening when it is raw. This shit has been overcooked and then someone tried to put hot fudge and whip cream on it to mask alllllll the broken flavors... can't be done and I cannot be fooled. I am by far, I will admit, not the best judge of what makes it HOT but I know what HipHop is. Clearly... as clear as a bottle of spring water... this is not that. The radio though... gets no run from me as it has previously pimped some old favorites right out of my deck. While I would LOVE to make more money doing what I do, I have afforded a decent life for myself and will not compromise the product. Someone could suggest I do it "that" way and I would make more money but what I NEED is to keep my job. Dig it? Does that make sense to anyone? (Wipes away one lone tear and flicks in into the wind *sob… sniffle*) Once you compromise the original ingredients the meal just ain't the same and less people will eat it. That is the best example I can produce. This is the WORST example Weezy can produce but the very best to define my views. Thanks asshole.

There is a reason Sandbox, Ughh & hiphop site have similar product.... Big ups to the hip hop site staff back in the days, Warren Peace & Pizzo had something special for a min and there still my peeps..Ughh is by far the king of the underground but they don't have ever artist... When I think of the underground I thing about, Def Jux, ABB, Stone Throws, Rhymesayers,Low Budget, BBE, Grove attack,Uncle Howie, Babygrande & Duck Down to name a few.......

I wish I could make people think before they reacct but thats impossible. But I make it possible for people to talk about hip hop so that the excitement is back. Sandbox has not been exciting since they shut down their vinyl section and moved locations. I personally have been to both locations and met with Smiley and Ed. They are nice people. But Sandbox has scaled as did hiphopsite. They all were big dogs, now we are just left with UGHH (which is not a bad thing). Sandbox and HHS used to have the BEST freebies. I haven't seen bullish like that since elementary school, and I used to punch those kids in the face. and take they shit. I listened to this album, I was definitely strumming my fingers for the tracks to end with about two minuets left to go on every track. pure trash, as was stated, this album is the equivalent of taking a dump on record. FUNKY MONKEY makes me laugh. in that deep Keith David voice. J-Aura you are unbelievably righteous, putting words in people's mouth. nobody said this site covers everything underground, you are creating opinions and arguments to rally against. you are a dumb fuck, plus all those "underground" acts you listed were bullshit. Willie the kid, killer mike pastor troy? refer to your local best buy section to check for that underground ish. best buy will probably have a better underground selection for ya dumbass than this site. travel up to new england and hit up a best buy, sure to be in stock. true heads know sandboxautomatic and discogs and even amazon has a better selection of old school shit, discontinued projects rare ish and stuff ughh doesn't feel like re-upping on. yo Megan foxxx I gotcha back kiid.

Comment: LOL @ "Megan Fox" For your information pimpin, "your wrong" is TWO words. LOL And two, I do review other strictly underground artists. I at least give em all a listen even if I don't get to buy the CD and drop a review. Being from NC, Little Brother, Foreign Exchange, 9th Wonder, and Ski Beatz will always be my favorites. I posted something on Skyzoo, PUTS, Strong Arm Steady, and others, but what's the real point of sayin something on every UGHH page if an album already has 40 some posts sayin "This is great, this is great..." and I DON'T DISAGREE WITH IT. I find better time with the critical debates. I know BROWNBALL, I've had a legitimate debate with him on Kid Cudi, and I respect his opinion. But you, are about as unfamiliar as your screen name's movie performance. I figured something else about you as well. You seem to think this site covers EVERYTHING underground. NO DISRESPECT to the UGHH site. I love this site, and I'm always checkin for new albums up here. But this site doesn't cover Pac Div, Willie The Kid, Pastor Troy, Killer Mike and I'm sure there's plenty other underground artists. And yes... I am a mainstream lover. I humbly respect rappers in the mainstream who stay true and have something innovative to add to the game. Play with your own scoresheet... (listening to that "Vibrate" too) Like I said before, if you don't like it, you don't like it. Cool. Don't bother me one bit. But when my love for underground music is questioned, pleez believe I'ma respond.

As I read 3000's name I am listening to vibrate as soon as I get home. Say what the phuk you want, the Love Below is sickening fantastic. This dude is just horrible... only that... nothing else... I saw LARS was all souped about the DVD... this is a phukkin' gimmick if I ever saw one. What HipHop respecting realist gives a SHIT about a free DVD with the release of pure trash??? Not angry… not jealous… only confused. I hope this album goes triple phukkin' RUST!!!! Meagan Foxxx… damn girl… stay true. You belong here. Comment: Read between the lines next time "Megan Fox"... No... I did not compare Rebirth to The Love Below. Rather, I took Lil' Wayne's transition, from the Tha Carter series to the Rebirth, and compared it SIMILAR to the transition of OutKast, from high-lyrical albums to more R&B/Soul/Blues-inspired songs. In no way, shape, or form am I sayin' that Weezy is a better artist than 3000, but I will continue to compare the transition. Other comparisons include Phonte's moves to Foreign Exchange, Q-Tip's move to Kamaal The Abstract (one of the biggest underrated albums of 2009), Kanye's move to 808's & Heartbreaks, and Cee-Lo's moves to Gnarls Barkley. Hate em or love em, all of these albums are special in their own light and give the artist versatility. And no... I do not think I have everything figured out, but I do have YOU figured out. I see your pathetic hatred has given you a tunnel vision. A good majority of people up here gave this album a bad rating because they don't like Lil' Wayne period. That means there's a good chance that they haven't even listened to one minute of it. That's cool or whatever. That's their choice and I'm not here to persuade them, but technically, that doesn't count to overall reviews of THIS particular album. If you have given this a true and honest good listening to, and you still don't like it... fine. Don't listen to it anymore. Just go and listen to whatever "stuck-inside-the-box" MC that feel like, find some personal time to change that "washed-up-before-she-even-got-a-good-start-all-looks-no-soul-actress" screen name, and go flap ya gums somewhere else instead of consistently coming back to this page just to hate.

Comment: I'ma speak on behalf of myself, because 3 stars was, and STILL is, my fair unbiased rating of this album. I ain't even gonna resort to name-calling, especially as a response to some lame naming himself as "Megan Fox". By the way, as fine as she is, she was the SHITTIEST actress I've ever seen in Transformers! She should try just modeling, but I digress. Hate him or love him, Lil' Wayne has more than just 2 good tracks on this album. It has an entirely different feel than Tha Carter series, and therefore, has to be reviewed differently. It comes from the EXACT same view of when my boys OutKast reigned supreme with "ATLien" lyrical status, and then Andre 3000 went and dropped "Hey Ya!". It took a good while for the rap game to accept the music for what it is. And now, with this album, you just have to have an open ear for the sound. You can't just say "Hey Ya!" is trash compared to "Player's Ball". Same artists, but the songs are creatively crafted differently. So with all due respect, you might need to learn a little something about world music in general. With a little less respect from an "idiot", you need to let your nutsack drop before you get up here talkin' about someone else's. In fact, next time grown folks talkin', ya need to close your mouth... For those with an OPEN ear, another track that is fire up here that I didn't mention before is "Runnin'" feat. Shanell. Definitely reminiscent of that Evanescence or Paramore rock sound. But hey... That might be a little too "pop" for some to give it listen... clowns...

Comment: This album ISN'T as bad as people say. If you can look past your hate of Lil' Wayne's status for like 50 minutes, you can actually enjoy a pretty decent rock album with the Rebirth. It's not goin to necessarily convince you that Weezy's a great artist. Pharrell isn't necessarily the greatest lyricist either, but he still makes good music, and this album is very reminiscent of N.E.R.D. in overall sound. The drums go hard in "Prom Queen" and "One Way Trip". It's got some good guitar chords in "American Star" and "Da Da Da". Of course though, my favorite is "On Fire", the one I mentioned about earlier on this page with the sample from the movie Scarface. Overall, it's definitely a different feel for Lil' Wayne and I respect the craft. Unfortunately, not too many people are appreciative when you step outside the box...

Comment: Lil Wayne?...Thats enough for me to not even consider listening to this trash. I admit, I used to listen to Wayne and thought he was good, but then I started listening to underground stuff and after comparing the two, I dont see how anyone would prefer mainstream rap over underground...or even listen to it at all!

Comment: Of course, mad props to Supernatural when it comes to freestyling, and I ain't gonna put Lil' Wayne above him. Supernat set that world record for the longest continuous freestyle of nine hours, so I would only put the TOP lyrical heavyweights next to him. To SIOR DA MC, I'ma definitely do somethin productive, like lookin in the mirror. Hint hint. We ain't the only ones commentin up here. My post will make it what? 242... In my last post, before it was deleted, I was trying to compare just Drake to Lil' Wayne. And now, "On to the Next One"... Comparing Drake and Jay-Z, LARS? In the words of Ed Lover... C'mon son! Not only do they not have similar flows or subject matter, but they are not even in the same league lyrically. Now I'd might give Drake a comparison to someone like a... let's say Nelly. Someone commercially decent, appeals to the ladies, but might fall off because of his "soft" swagger. But Jay-Z? C'mon son!

Comment: I agree with you for the most part EUROHATER, but I don't think it's right to blame Cash Money Records. The mid-to-late 90's, to me, wasn't a "downfall" era in all of Hip-Hop, only in the area of Afrocentric lyricism. It became a resurgence of "ghetto"-centric lyricism. This focus of materialism, drugs, and gang violence has ALWAYS been there in hip-hop, way before Birdman & Cash Money and Master P & No Limit. During the times they were first making music, THAT was the type of local styles that were coming up in New Orleans. It is not the artists fault that MAJOR record labels commercialize their style by making "formulaic" copy rappers in order to increase their revenue. It's the exact same thing with the "screwed & chopped" movement out of Texas or the "crunk music" movement out of Georgia. Either you love it or hate it, but personally, I respect the true innovative artists of the time. Also the mid-to-late 90's saw the rise of OutKast, my personal favorite rap group of all-time. Another plus of that time was rise of the "neo-soul" movement through Erykah Badu and The Roots. Hip-Hop is a constantly changing entity. You compared the Rebirth possibly being like Kanye's 808's & Heartbreaks album. I think that album was quite genius. Forget your hate for the "auto-tune" movement. Despite that one thing, 808's & Heartbreaks represents raw emotion through somber melodies and enhanced basslines. It's NOT Kanye's best album, but still groundbreaking. I think Lil' Wayne's step to the Rebirth album will not only be like Kanye's 808's & Heartbreaks, but also Q-Tip's step to Kamaal The Abstract, Andre 3000's step to The Love Below, and Phonte through Foreign Exchange. A lot of people want Hip-Hop to stay a certain kind of way (even me), but unfortunately, it will never happen.

Comment: I checked out Jay Elect's "Exhibits A, B, and C" with Mos Def. I gotta admit, that joint is hot as hell. I knew he's a good artist, but I caught myself sleepin on how lyrical he is. Also, I heard on the grapevine that Lil' Wayne's Rebirth is being pushed back yet AGAIN all the way past June 2010. It's mainly due to Weezy goin to jail coming up in February. He's gonna be serving a 1-year sentence for a gun-possession charge in New York. I wonder how much that is gonna effect the Young Money mixtape movement...

Comment: i feel you on this topic and is why I didnt take it to an f lars and f j-aura level lol. I was only mentioning ace & edo as emcees that have been in the game for a minute with true talent, not necessarily the A&E album. I do however like that ncaa vs nfl analogy but I like the nfl better lol. I just dont understand how this dude is on "top" or the new image for rap music in the industry today when there is so much better talent out there. thats my beef with this whole topic. I think that this generation with music is in a state of emergency unlike back in 92'- 96' where the music wasnt watered down and was great to listen too. I remember turning on the radio and hearing raekwon joints and that was the shit. now its gimmicks and same content with the same watered down beats that I and so many others cant relate too. I dont hate the dude, I just think wayne as an artist is mediocre at best. I will refer back to the EMC album, it has great content, the story lines with the skits are right on, the emcees are great and show their talent with flow, delivery, and tight metaphors and finally, the production is tight and consistent throughout. this is hiphop, this is what it takes to be a great emcee with a great album and content. lil wayne in my opinion is what you are seeing on his album cover, image. much respect my dudes. ill check out that jay electronicas "exhibit c" album. yo j-aura, dont turn into a laker fan while your out there homie lol, big ups!!!

Masta Ace & Ed OG made a so-so album, they are getting the props they deserve: ON A SMALL SCALE. Comment: Respect man. I welcome anyone who has a LEGITIMATE comment of why they don't like Lil' Wayne. LARS made an excellent point. The same reason that keeps bringin Weezy haters back to this page may be the same reason why he is on top of the MAINSTREAM game right now. I ain't defending that he should be UGHH, nor am I saying that he is WAY better than MC's from the underground. Of course, that's because underground artists generally are hungrier for the crown. Who don't know underground Hip-Hop ENALIST? Well let me break it down for you like I broke it down for my roommates who are radio heads and don't understand why I bump so much underground. Underground to the mainstream is like college football to the NFL. When you watch college football, you'll see receivers and runningbacks playin their ASSES off to impress the scouts in hopes to get drafted to the NFL. Unfortunately, not everyone makes it. Players already in the NFL are considered the best in the nation at their position, BUT because they're already established with a contract and large sums of money, they are often liable to slack off and play like little pansies. Now you can choose to ONLY watch the college level to get your football experience. But even then, you gotta give props to players like Peyton Manning or Chad Ochocinco or Chris Johnson that keep the pampered professional league exciting. If you can relate to that, THAT is my position on Lil' Wayne.

Comment: whoa whoa whoa lars, I clicked on his name because I know that you guys are up on here and I try to conversate not just about lil wayne but about other cats. I do NOT care for lil wayne at all but I do like politicking about it. You guys can like whoever you want but you aint going to piss on my leg and tell me its raining. this dude isnt that good. ive heard his music and again its not appealing to me because its not my thing. the point about the guitar was just stating about the whole gimmicky persona that this dude has. andre has more credability ever since 93 with outkast. that dude can rhyme no doubt and gets my respect. I dont care if he dresses all funny and wears wigs but he can produce some great quality music. prince plays about a hundred instruments including the guitar so yeah hes got that on lock. I think you all like wayne because hes portrayed the best in hiphop and your catering to him and the likes of him. is he the best? um no, why cant you praise the fashawn album or him as an artist like you do for wayne? you guys got my respect but dont bag on me because I dont like wayne and what he represents. I aint going to say anything else about this matter but I think you are "disillusioned" about wayne as an artist. what he looks like and what he can do and say are two different things, and trust me, ive heard what he has to say and it aint much. and just because he gets praises from phonte, jay-z and nas doesnt mean anything. Id like to hear what masta ace, edo g and other cats that have been busting their asses off in the game for years would have to say about him. they would probably give some kind of political answer but we know whats up. And lars what top rated emcees? there aint anymore top rated emcees. this shit is in the underground homie. everyone else in the industry has fallen off. peace lars and j-aura

Comment: Not vouching for the lame rapper 50 Cent, but Weezy does get props from top MC's in the game. Even Phonte has said Lil' Wayne is his favorite rapper in the game right now. There's nothin wrong with his album cover, cuz I know, and you know, we've all seen cheesier and shittier attempts at an album cover. Is it bad to pose with a guitar? You mean like Andre 3000 or Prince? Definitely not a negative. In fact, it's very relevant as it preludes to his style shift in this album. I agree that Weezy is too widely known to be promoted through UGHH, but I ain't gon shit on him havin a commercial status. Don't let his disillusioned ego of "Best Rapper Alive" sway you from listening to him altogether, because a strong majority of his music, besides the mainstream image, is genuinely good music.

Comment: Yeah that leak ain't official, just like the 100 other leaks that come out months before an album's release. Purely a marketing strategy, but ya can't knock the hustle, it keeps the authentic versions highly anticipated. I do know of one official track that is SLAMMIN'... Comment: Close. The Clipse were born in the Bronx, but raised in VA, and that's where their experience drives from. I can understand why some don't care for T.I., but he's commercially and lyrically sound. The same for David Banner too, particularly with his last album, The Greatest Story Ever Told. He'll drop some heavy conscious tracks in there, and then next song comes a mainstream-style head banger. To each, his own opinion on them. But Killer Mike is one that stands out from all of them. He is highly underrated, and it's why he calls himself the "Outcast of OutKast". Killer Mike has always gone hard lyrically. His beat production style changed up a little as he stepped away from Aquemini Records. His last album, I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II was a sure-fire underground classic. I know I'm lookin forward to that volume 3 coming up early next year...

Comment: Oh naw, Little Brother is Southern as they come. The country accent may not be as distinct, but it's always been there since the beginning. Anytime I hear 9th Wonder's production, it registers as a Southern sound to me. He's worked with so many MC's from NYC and all over, sometimes it's hard to differentiate between songs. It happens with The Neptunes' and Timbaland's productions as well. VA is South too

Comment: D-TRAIN and DATNIGGABEON1, I feel your pain. "Michael Jordan and Raging Bull" LOL that's a good one. I fully agree that a lot of artists on UGHH are better than Weezy. And yeah, the majority of his testimony may be fraudulent, but I still don't count him out of my list of top Southern lyricists. I look at it like this. Considering just rappers in the mainstream, Lil Wayne drops enough punchlines and throws in realistic subject matter at small sporadic times to put him above your average commercial rapper. It's that kind of ideology like on the song "Zealots" when Lauryn Hill said "...And even after all my logic and my theory / I add a muthafucker so you ig'nent n*ggas hear me". I think Weezy has SOME skill. It might not be high-lyrical or always authentic. But it's enough to give his Rock N' Roll transformation worth a listening to in this upcoming album. Typo... I was addressing D-STROI more so than D-TRAIN.

I have been listening to hiphop for a very long time and this lil wayne gimmick I dont get. the difference between nas and lil wayne is lyrics, flow, nas has the voice and on top of that the credentials to make a legit album. im not blaming mainstream either, im simply stating that lil wayne cant hold the nuts of 99.9% of the hip hop artists on this site alone period. if he doesnt make sense or has any substance to his music then who cares about his albums or status. I dont

Comment: Hold on, I'm confused. DATNIGGABEON1, I could have sworn earlier on this page that you said Weezy was the G.O.A.T., as in "greatest of all-time"... In the case that you might have been being sarcastic, you said it twice in two different posts. Correct if I'm wrong, not tryin to call you out... As far as Weezy's flow back in the day with the Hot Boyz, it was MAD corny. That only builds the case against him. Lil Wayne has surely evolved now from those days, "Dr. Carter" is an excellent example, take it how you want. The beat is bangin and the lyrics are somewhat above par, but they ride perfect to the concept. Who stole who isn't a valid factor cuz there ain't no patent office when it comes to subject matter in music. Everything gets recycled eventually. " ain't Vince Young, so don't Clash wit the Titan!" - still one of my favorite bars from that joint. Call it wack all you want. (how about that 5-game win streak, NFL fans - another discussion) Long story short. Being in the mainstream is not a "bad" thing, cuz if you think about it historically, Hip-Hop wouldn't be Hip-Hop if it wasn't for the mainstream. The heart pumps and thrives now in the underground...

Comment: watever.. I love nas's untitled,,the best concept album i've heard yet....i'm sorry lars, that dr carter doesnt impress me..i think ive heard it maybe twice and nothing stood out...i'm sure if I posted the lyrics to that song it would seem elementary..xzibit already did's dead, it's over..Lupe rapped about reesurecting a killer out of a coffin on food and liqour(better beat, better lyrics, better concept) You dont see dickriders praising it as the pinnacle of concept raps???? Why? because nobody has to put lupe on a higher plateau then he already is on.. i just listened to 1 min of that dr cater just now, and that shit was hot trash...he's trying to rap like and underground rapper (rapping about rapping about skills) but he has no tight similes or wordplay of the early 90's underground rappers..for some strange reason he cant seem to stay on the same subject...the only song I ever liked was "hollywood divorce", but thats a few outta a 1000 songs that he did...i think the only lil wayne I ever owned was his features on b.g's and juveniles albums, and the old hot boyz,,but thats it..

Comment: To the headz Nas, Jay Z & Em all have great skills but have chosen to sell out to the commercial crowd... Nas had Illmatic, Jay Z reasonable doubt & Em pre Dre but now they all make bland pop records for teenage girls......Weezy, Drake, Wale & Wayne aren't worth mentioning..... I'm not hating on what they do but there not for ughh or any other underground site... J-Aura Jay z's album is horrible & filled with terrible guests, Nas's last album was bad also.. Hip hop is not as good as it use to be but I can say it's still fresh and worth supporting...Especially all the young new talent that keeps poppin up...Lars BET has nothing to do with Hip Hop, we know more about the art than mugs that works for BET, MTV Or vh1 & thats my word... Much luv to UGHH for all the real catz that you support, I would be dead if I didn't have this site to listen to some real hip hop, just get rid of all the fake wanna be commercal shit and were solid !!!

Comment: I agree with LARS, it justifies a lot. Nas' Hip Hop Is Dead fell short on listeners, but it made a strong message across the game. The same goes for Jay-Z's song "D.O.A.", which represents the exact feeling a lot of people up here on UGHH feel... "Die Auto-Tune, Die!!!". Yet they can't even get that credit. You can't blame mainstream MC's for tryin to stay in the mainstream with mainstream hits, hence the repeated name of "mainstream". But at least give props to the ones that add something positive to the game and open people's eyes to some things. Nobody human is perfect, so don't expect your MC's to be either...

Comment: Jeezy, weezy, Drake, Eminem, Kanye, Wale, Nas, Jay Z & Kanye are all SOLID ARTISTS! Wayne did bute Jim Jones's style..I can admit that! LOL Here is a quote from a well respected MC in the game, NAS, about Lil Wayne (i think Nas knows alot more about hip hop than many of you here...): "AllHipHopcom: Do you think it says a lot that you changed your album title and people were outraged with it, but Lil Wayne breaks the one million in sales mark and they say he is saving Hip-Hop? Nas: He is. I heard the song "Dr. Carter" when he breathes it, and to me that is the best s**t ever to hear…that "Dr. Carter" song and [Lil Wayne] breathing life into Hip-Hop. You know n****s, they're cheering, Lil Wayne love Hip-Hop. He does in his BET performance at the Hip-Hop Awards "I am Hip-Hop" and he said it at the BET Awards performance he said it again. It's in the end of the Nelly video. Some girl even has a shirt on that says, "Hip-Hop Ain't Dead."

Comment: I agree that Lil Wayne is "alright". I'm not frontin that he's the sickest lyricist, but he is worth a listening to. You can call Weezy a biter, but honestly, it's hard to find a concept that is COMPLETELY original. All styles and formats eventually get recycled, therefore, "Dr. Carter" is not a bite, cuz I've heard worse. Also, it is true that he's not a REAL gangsta. I understand 99.9% of gangsta rappers today aren't "bosses" anyway, because if you think about it logically... If you really ARE a "boss", then what the fuck you doin' rappin?! Obviously, you are not makin enough money just being a "boss"! People are so amazed by swag nowadays. But I know enough to look past image and mainstream sales and get down to straight lyrical fundamentals. I respect Lil Wayne because he has that freestyle fundamental...

Skip "a hoe"..the bitch n*gga never got shot, but shot himself in the chest...his similes are hella corny..even Kanye has better similes..and how is dr carter a better song..saafir, rass, xzibit, and the liks are way better rappers then wayne, so it wouldnt make sense 4 wayne trying to be a "dr" to help out a rapper's least tyga is better..farrrr better then that bitch wayne

Comment: He's got clever lyrics. It may not be always consistent. Some lyrics may not any sense at all. Some don't make sense, but if you think about it, it kinda does if he had worded it a little different. That comes with his pure freestyle method, similar to Jay-Z's. I've been hearing a lot of hate towards Jay-Z lately too. The Blueprint 3 may have been a miss, but he came correct on "D.O.A."

Comment: i disagree jamal. first of all aesop is complex in what he writes and is somewhat hard to understand but has a lot to say none the less. I know your not comparing the two but mentioning aesop in the same comment as lil wayne is premature. ive heard waynes stuff and still not impressed. his voice is annoying, his metaphors are ridiculous and not in a good way, and his whole steez is gimmicks. there is certain artists that should be on certain sites and lil wayne in my opinion along with the birdman, 50, and even jay-z or even fat joe shouldnt be on here. cater them to the allhiphop site or mtv, cuz you know 90% of every review for these cats is gonna be negative just for being on this site alone bcuz heads on here dont pay mind to this except for a few. no disrepect jamal, much love for your opinion. yo oak,lil wayne will have us in a fury? cmon man. yo lars, HOT!!? cmon man. yo J-aura much respect dude, I aint saying f lil wayne but I aint praising him or his music either. there are so many more emcees out there deserving of lil waynes "crown" in being the rap icon, sorry hiphop icon.

Comment: man I'm serious when I say this. underground can be garbage too. for instance what the hell does aesop rock be talkin about?! I understand where most people are coming from with the hate lil wayne (especially me being the 'underground hip hop' fein I am). But if you stop trying to hate and listen to that last album wayne came out was actually descent. not great...not bad...but good enough to give it a listen. listen and try to listen. I understand that little kids listen to him but man you got to understand that before you hate just listen. I'm by far not a mainstream lover. I know more underground than the average cat and I love underground. but you can't deny that lil wayne spits lyrics...and that's something that hip hop in general is missing. so in all realness...he is allowed to be on ughh. Jay Z had garbage albums. Raekwon has....hell even mos def has had some coasters. But good hip hop no matter what category it comes from can be good.

Comment: See now that's what I'm talking about, THE BROWN BALL... somebody WORTHY of a debate... Alright, I feel everything you sayin, but this is the deal. We already know that his rhymes are subpar, but you have to understand and appreciate his pure freestyle method of establishing those rhymes. Sure, there are PLENTY of MC's who freestyle much better, but a lot of times when they freestyle, it will be a mix of "off the top" and older pre-written rhymes. Still hot nonetheless. People like Mos Def, Lupe, Phonte, even battle rappers like Cassidy. The thing that gives Lil' Wayne his popularity is the way he commands a freestyle in the booth. A few punchlines may be pre-written, but I know for sure that 90% of it comes off the top of his mind. He'll even slip up every now and then, but what does he do? He'll pick that bitch right back up and keep runnin with it. You gotta respect that... And for the record, he DOES give props to other artists. His mentor Jay-Z, artists of his generation like Kanye and Jeezy, and the many different artists that he's willing to collaborate with... "Gotta work everyday / gotta not be cliche' / gotta stand out like Andre 3K / you gotta kick it / kick it like a sensei / you gotta have faith / you gotta, gotta, wait wait... I think I lost 'em..." Comment: Weezy… wasn't she an annoying over bearing blowhard from… could very well be Louisiana. In any case… there was a time when I first heard The Carter that I thought he may be onto something. Upon FURTHER listening, I realized what he was onto was becoming the very next gimmick in a long line of pretend crowns. The dude sucks. His metaphors and similes are definitely subpar because he isn't a poet. He just says words that rhyme. So does my 5 year old daughter as does my 3 year old nephew and very much like Weezy, appear to be pleased with themselves at the height of their youthful soliloquy of chaos . The thing is they have a lot of learning to go in their young lives and Lil' Wayne has probably reached the pinnacle of his skill set… highly minimalistic. He is overdoing something that could have built him a fan base but when he is offering NO props to anyone, barely an influence, please believe me I am waiting for him to say the right thing to the wrong EmCee. DOOM said it best… "What are ya'll rappers or strippin' males… out of work jerks since they shut down Chippen Dales". There is no fire in Weezy's words and no flow in his mouth. This dude should STOP passing go. Can we end this cat already? 2010… the year of no gimmicks. I vow with all I am.

Comment: Another UNCOMMERCIAL Lil' Wayne quotable, from the SOUL, directed at whoever voted for Ex-President Bush: "I knock on the door, hope isn't home / Fate's not around, the luck's all gone / Don't ask me "What's wrong?", ask me "What's right?" / And I'ma tell ya "What's life?" / And did ya know? / I lost everything, but I ain't the only one / First came the hurricane, then the morning sun / Excuse me if I'm on one, and don't trip if I light one / I walk a tight one / They try to tell me keep my eyes open / My whole city underwater, some people still floatin' / Then they wonder why black people still voting / 'Cause your president's still chokin / Take away the football team, the basketball team / Now all we got is me to represent New Orleans / No governor, no help from the mayor / Just a steady beatin heart and a wish and a prayer."

Shit... having an education doesn't make you a "nerd" anyway you little fuck, but I'll take that title with PRIDE. I even ain't gon front up here like I'm some killa-ass goon-ass gangsta, but I'm well connected enough that if you come round my way talking reckless like that, you WILL get dealt wit! ...wit a quickness LOL! Luckily for me, I made better options with my life and I'm on the road to success. So go ahead and type up some half-ass ignorant-ass response to this. Meanwhile, while you doin that, go ahead and count the change in ya lil piggy bank so you'll have enough money to move out ya mother's basement! Now excuse my back...

Comment: Oh you right about that, they do have to "pay for play"... but I'd rather do something like that at this lil' club called SugarBares on the corner of Randleman Road back in Greensboro LOL. It's a damn shame how radio stations have changed so drastically. I think LOCAL radio should still represent new LOCAL hype and talent (and I know Phonte spoke out about coming back home and still be called "local"). It's all either just some shit they don't care about, or it's pure conspiracy by the industry. But I will not the finger at Weezy...

Comment: Being an MC, requires you to move the crowd, period. It's not necessarily about "what you say", but it's also "HOW you say it". Both of em have to go hand-in-hand, and that's the way REAL hip-hop music has always been. Real, true school, underground, street, authentic, whatever kinda label you wanna throw on it. D-TRAIN, if you don't like Wayne, it's understandable. His rhymes ARE cut nursery school-simple in a commmercial-like fashion, but he freestyles a majority of his verses, and hits decent punchlines from time-to-time, just like his mentor Jay-Z. I think this album will be experimental in sound and prove his versatility. And to DATNIGGABEON1, define "make hits for the masses". Because Little Brother makes some of the best fusions of excellent lyricism, clarity, subject matter any average human being can relate to, pumped over house party style and experimental beats. Lack of "hits" is purely lack of promotion from mainstream TV and radio. Shit... take the "hit" record both them and Weezy was on, "Breakin' My Heart". All 3 verses hit hard. Pooh comes in proper, Phonte's verse was top notch, and Weezy hit with back-to-back punchlines. 9th slayed that beat with them sharp-ass snare claps. Hook was catchy and direct to the point. And like I said before, the song keeps up with "what is said" and "how it's said". UNFORTUNATELY - and I was still living in NC when it came out - it was rarely bumped through Carolina's local radio. Why? Exploitation, commercialism, the greed of capitalism, you name it. The "masses" are gonna like WHATEVER is pushed in heavy rotation through the airwaves.

Comment: To J-Aura, your question about him being underground or not he is overground and he is everywhere.... 106 n park won't play little brother because that is not there audience, cats are programed to believe that garbage is good because they here it everyday all day..... They only play ring tone music and kid stuff... Wayne can rap but that doesn't make him an MC, good or even interesting... His beats are terrible for one and his music is catered to Teen girls and radio listeners.... Hip hop cats don't watch MTV, BET or listen to the radio because our music is not there... We go to UGHH & college radio stations.... Cats have the right to like him but I can't see how... I'm glad that I'm not down with the 80 percent that like him, real hip hop travels in small packs fam...Lars and J-Aura I respect yall but on the real have you ever heard LIl Wayne being played at a b-boy battle or a a real hip hop show by a real DJ ???? There was a time when LL was a real MC and put out good records...I support real hip hop and thats where my loot will go, if little brother were to change there style to get on the radio then it they wouldn't be for me anymore, get your money but stay true to your craft...

Comment: I'ma defend LARS on this one. I am a fan of Lil' Wayne's music, but that does not mean I adore him with "posters" and "bedsheets". LOL Anyone who buys the bedsheets needs to get a life. Nor do I think he is the "Greatest Rapper Alive". This is Underground Hip Hop Dot Com, but does it make an artist NOT underground if he becomes highly successful? What are you really saying? That I should stop supporting Little Brother if they were ever able to be invited on 106 & Park? I simply respect Weezy's style. An artist who was signed at a very young age, who was originally cheezy sounding at first, but then perfected his craft in the booth, got to a such a skill level where he can just step in and freestyle a verse, and put out and get featured on some 100 mixtapes a year. He's not my favorite rapper, but I know he has a love for the music. I think this Rebirth album (the official unleaked version) will be a fresh new direction for him...

I know hundreds of Jamaicans who come down for Carnival every year. Okay a lot of the islands have "issues". Americans had an "issue" with Sweden referencing the Obama socialism issue and calling out Sweden as the model that he was following. So if you wanna say issues yeah the islands have "issues". P.S. this is the first time you've chosen to discuss your opinion and not attack someone. I suppose if you would tone it down more often, ughh wouldn't shut you down.

Comment: Let it be known that I do respect the Caribbean. The Kool Kerc mention is old news to me...I was born when he was developing this artform while many of you were still swimming in daddy's nuts. But Kool Herc is not Trini, he's Jamaican. One thing I know you cannot do is confuse a Jamaican for a Trini or Haitian and vis versa unless you want a verbal lashing! lol I am well aware that Trini's do not have the same accent as Jamaican's as Trini's like to "sing" when they speak...But I do love those Trini women..especially the ones mixed with Indian...they are sexy as hell! Not to mention running neck and neck with Haitians & Latinas for the best puss puss around! But don't sit here and make it seem that all from the Caribbean are all for one and one for all..ya'll have issues with each other and like to stick to your own separate cultures...Back to hip hop...Special Ed is one of my fave Trini rappers...In respect to Lil wayne's "Dr.Carter", Swizz Beats DID NOT copy 9th Wonder..that beat is a common hip hop break beat by David Axelrod titled "Holy Thursday". Many have used it before and will use it again. If you can flow over a break beat then you get props, but not Lil Wayne...why not?...well, cuz people are haters because he makes club joints. Even Nas had to respect "Dr.Carter" going on record to saying that he wished he came up with that! The concept of that song is great and still he gets no respect from you guys...who's the REAL hater here? hmmmnnn?

Comment: LARS, your comment about Trinidad was not necessarily racist, but it was offensive cuz you made it seem like they are a 3rd world country, which clearly they are not. They have internet. As far as Lil' Wayne is concerned, I love Weezy but he is definitely not the G.O.A.T., not even the South's G.O.A.T. I'll start the Top 10 Southern Lyricists Poll... 10. UGK 9. T.I. 8. David Banner 7. Scarface (and The Geto Boys) 6. Cunninlynguists 5. Lil' Wayne 4. The Clipse 3. Ludacris 2. OutKast 1. Little Brother

Comment: Lars said "Outside of the commercial tracks it really had some substance.".... that's my point exactly. Who would ever know? With all of the R&B collaborations and very commercial releases I don't know if he's a lyricist. I heard the Breakin' My Heart track with Little Brother and was unimpressed with his attempt to sound lyrical. I'm a Hip Hop fan for twenty six years now so don't try to explain this "just to sell a record" gimmick. The eighties and early nineties was all about "wack contracts". So when Master P and Lil Wayne's own camp started hustling their music independently, why how many years later you are trying to explain to me what he's "trying to do" by releasing commercial tracks. I've seen it all. And Lars, thank the Caribbean for this music you supposedly enjoy. The Caribbean started this music (google Kool Herc) plus Phife, Lil Fame and The Juggaknots are all Trini, just to name a few. And J Aura (respect to you) but I checked the Dr. carter track and before I could start to listen, why did Swizz Beats jack 9th Wonder's production of Cesar Comanche's Lamb To Lion track off the Paper Gods album (which was released in 2002). What frustrates me the most is when there is already a lack of originality in the music and then it's not even a fresh sound when something "acceptable" comes out. The intent of the track is okay but again he is trying to do a track dissing wack rappers? Really?

Comment: Hey JosiahFadder, there is DEFINITELY truth behind what you sayin about the media, but you can't point the finger at Lil' Wayne. KRS-One's 9/11 issue is bigger than hip-hop. Any revolutionary movement from blacks or the lower class will be frowned upon, and any ig'nent shit that will make the elite class wealthier will pushed, marketed, and enforced. Look at what happened to the Boondocks. They started spittin the truth about BET and got banned, then offically shut down. All the meanwhile, shows like Family Guy and South Park can demean whatever they want to... Back to the original topic, underneath a lot of the nonsense mainstream bull, Weezy does throw a few tracks with some real talk heartfelt shit. The reason he doesn't make his whole album that way is because obviously he wouldn't sell as much commercially. It's not necessarily selling out, but it's strategy to survive in this shit ass game. If you don't believe me about that, relisten to "Tie My Hands" and "Dr. Carter" on Tha Carter III. Weezy is NOT the "Greatest Rapper Alive", but he is definitely a heavyweight as far as top Southern lyricist... "you ain't Vince Young, so don't Clash with the Titan..."

Comment: Look, at the end of the day this album would most likely go platinum because MTV, Bet and VH1 would push every release. KRS1 got attacked by Fox News because of a line he did on a track about 9/11. Why do they have the time to observe a lyricist like KRS1 and Lil Wayne can spit all the smut he wants. Because once a black musician doesn't threaten to revolutionise it's ok to play. Be "ignant" and say nothing meaningful and they love you. George W got two terms in office and that is what the history books will show just as Lil wayne being a mega successful "rapper". The fact that he sucks doesn't really matter just like Lars being an idiot. So what, if you like underground hip hop then support the artistes and let the dick riders do what they do best. So if you are mad that ughh is retailing this garbage let it slide and let Lars and friends have no fuel to light their bag of shit.

Comment: My old brother gave to me his old time Little Wayne CD's and I found they give entertainment to me ! Not just me alone, but, at my party there were no less than 12 friends and we all danced to it as crazy for many hours and had good fun to the rhymes ! They even asked me who is the rapper called on these songs because the style was amazing for them ! If this music can be famous just for this then it is good for the rap market and of course we need more of it. It's good to have a cover that looks like rap also.

Comment: Raped and killed? Wow you have issues man. Did dad not hug you enough as a child? I also can name many mc's who have hotter 16 bars than Wayne, but you can't name too many that can make better SONGS today. Hip hop has gone past the 16 bar beatdown son. Serius Jones can kill Lil Wayne in 5 seconds in a battle. But put them in the studio with the same beat and I bet you Wayne will exit with a hit record while Serius Jones walks out with some random sounding mixtape joint.

Our so called heros from the 80's and 90's lost that I say to them, move out of the way and let the new jacks breathe new life in this...lets see where it all goes. Do I still get the same goosebumps I used to get from music made before 2000? NOPE..however, nothing makes me angrier than a lazy azz Rakim dropping bullshyt tracks after making us wait 8 years. A waste of time in my humble opinion. At least wayne is trying to do something different and expand his horizions. Lil Wayne in 2000 and Lil Wayne in 2009 are 1000% different..for the better...Lil Wayne...GODSPEED MY MAN...GODSPEED....

Comment: When are you people going to learn. Hip Hop has to grow and not stay the same to survive. What happened to all the other genres out there that stayed the same. They all died. For anything to survive it has to adapted and change to where it is still breathing. There is nothing wrong with rap. And for people to keep saying that it is dead your wrong. When Run DMC was running the show that was a early from of hip hop. And as it went on and on it manifested and start to change. Hip hop now is the most popular form of music in the world. More people listen to hip hop than any other genre that has ever came out. Why??? Because we have learn to not just people to hear us but also to listen to us feel us as a sub-culture. All over people are listening to Jay-Z and Lil wayne. Not just the hood no more. White people are listening more to hip hop than they would years ago when they was saying it was horrible music and thinking their form of music was better. Hip hop connects generations of gaps for the better. And all of you ignorant people who wants it to stay the same and say its dead you are the ones who holds us back from coming one society rather than different ones. You rather hate on a artist for trying to make this enjoyable for everyone (even though they make more money off it) and have you sitting next to a person on the train listening to music that you can relate to you and you have a discussion about the music, and then it gets you a good job because this person is in management. Grow up and let this music grow up too. Trying to hold back this music is inevitable. We have a hip-hop born President and you can see the difference between him and Bush. He can relate to those that are down in the streets and make up rise because the has something that relates us to him. So John shut up and let us as a sub-culture rise to make one society and possible peace. Hip-hop is made for something bigger than you liking it. It's meant for a more important role.

Comment: i click on the album details expecting to become angry, dissatisfied, disgusted, sad and then angry again. I wanted to see if this bitch n*gga was doing a whole rap/rock/pop/cock-in-jaw genre style for a whole album. but I see that there is already a battle between good and evil in regards to the talent level of wayne. its hard to believe some people like lars saying a milli was a lyrical masterpiece. okay if rosie o'donnell's titties are worth fucking. I don't dislike him personally but my hate for him is that he is the embodiment for dog turd pop music today that DOES NOT represent TRUE hip hop. I have no interest in analyzing his music only to kill myself slowly with doomsday thoughts and a stress overdose. basically how the fuck are we lettin a faggot from europe, sweden no less argue with us about our urban culture's creation. I really personally believe that it does not mean as much/communicate on as advanced of a level to the consumer if they have not had to deal with these conditions/grow up like this. I know that's not fair, but basically i'm trying to say while you chill in your forest of sticks and trees we can connect with this music on a more literal and personal level than you can imagine. faggot. i'm so offended because of the royce da 5'9" shit. come over to the D and say that bullshit

Comment: All of the rappers I mentioned are really gay, not just in terms of rap style, but they choose the warmth of a man in their bed or bathwater. Nothing wrong with being gay, but when you say Lil Wayne is gay, I will have to disagree and sadly inform you of some of your underground heroes of yester-year who actually are participating in homo-erotic manuvers in their personal lives. Just setting the record str8. ;)

Comment: TO NATURALIST...If you EVER hear Lil Wayne flowing over a beat that DJ Premier made specifically for him, that will be the official death day of hip-hop. Lil Wayne has never been underground and will never be. As far as being on this site, it's called underground hip-hop dot com. It's not that I don't want any other genre on here (i.e Reggae) but why would you have something on here that is SO anti-underground hip-hop is beyond me. I hear you with the fact that you're not trying to knock his hustle but I think he has a problem with selling records. I think he would be just fine as far as sales go without this site. Oh and lastly, he is not an artist. An artist is someone who creates art - whether it be through sight or sound. Lil Wayne creates catchy pop tunes to sell records and make money. By the way, this is not a personal attack so don't take it that way. I just had a problem with most of the stuff you said. Sorry.

Comment: I mean Lil Wayne can rap. But he is def not the Greatest rapper alive! I don't really listen to his music but he does have some good party joints and he def had the mixtape grind buzzing for a lil' while. But I can't knock a successful Blackman's hustle down. Most artists rap for the love, yes, but also to feed their family. So I can't say don't sell Lil Wayne's CD on UGHH. If You don't like it then don't buy it, I'm not buying it! One thing is for sure, he really needs to let go of the voice synthesizer and get some real Hip Hop beats going. He needs to link up with producers like Primo, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, Havoc, real DJs and Producers like that for his music to be categorized as HIP HOP. Step up your HIP HOP game Lil' Weezy!!!

Comment: it's a sad thing that nowadays somebody's level of "coolness" is measured the amount of jewelry they got. But thanks for sayin that... it once more proves what kind of people listen to this (c)rap. I don't give a shit about someones "bling" and it most certainly doesn't say jack about how dope you are.... so instead of kissin' his rings he can kiss my hairy ass.... And that ain't hatin', that's an opinion.
