Comment: This is a very great follow-up to "The Listening". They kinda went with the same concept, but instead this time its a television broadcast. The beats and rhymes are great as expected. Cop this you will not be dissapointed.

Comment: What sophomore jinx? Hip Hop heads asked how could Little Brother possibly follow up one of the best debut albums in underground history? Well, the smart kids knew that 9th had some tricks up his sleeve, and based on their recent projects and undeniable growth of Pooh and Phonte, WHAT ELSE DID YOU EXPECT? I know it's only been two weeks, but I already feel like this album as a whole is BETTER than The Listening. To be honest with you, albums with this much anticipation hardly ever live up to the hype. The Minstrel Show not only exceeds all expectations, but it defines 'hip-hop' in it's true essence. The album is flawless, all 12 songs are incredible. Two tracks are the theme song, two are amusingly witty skits (one produced by Nicolay), and the other is a comical song by Percy Miracles. 9th made all but one of the beats, 'Watch Me', which is produced by Khrysis and is arguably the best track on the entire album (not hating on 9th of course). Pooh spits real serious on the track and then Phonte just comes in and kills it, not to mention Jazzy Jeff closes it out by cutting up classic LB lines. The album initially blasts off with 'Beautiful Morning', an ill melodious instrumental with stuttering drums and hungry verses from both emcees. Phonte’s biographical solo 'The Becoming' is real tight and 9th gives Pooh a magnificent sluggish beat that he flows perfect over for his solo 'Sincerely Yours'. Obviously the video single 'Lovin’ It' is fire, Elzhi has a real nice verse on 'Hiding Place' and the finale 'We Got Now' is appropriately saved for the last track. 'Say it Again' is a tag-team banger, 'Still Lives Through' showcases some more of their lyrical skills, 'All For You' is guaranteed to be playing in your head for the next 6 months, and 'Not Enough' is stunning in everyway. 'Slow It Down' should be the song that makes Little Brother a household name but because of the 'Rap City's' and 'Direct Effect’s' of the world, a hidden treasure will be overlooked. The Minstrel Show is an addictive uncontrollable head-nodder, for you not to feel this album entirely is unjustifiable. If this was a decade ago, the 'old' Source would have no choice but to honor it with 5 mics. This album to me has reached sacred status, 10 out of 10.

Comment: Don't know what all the hype is about this LP. Sounds average at best to me.

Comment: I only got this album, because they already made their credibility on 'The Listening', 'Chittlin' Circuit' and various compilations and collaborations. I thought they were going to get better lyrically. 9th Wonder still shows his productional strength on this album, nothing hasn't really changed too much about him. He makes the group! I still have love for Phonte and Big Pooh, I just feel that they haven't been stepping up since their previous joints.
