The original concept was a hip hop page dedicated strictly to promote himself as a DJ. The page debuted in September 1997 and was entitled "DJ Quest's Slammin' Hip Hop Page" (it received an average of 40 visitors per day - not very good). After surfing the web for months, Quest realized that there was no good source on the Internet to find dope, underground hip hop. Therefore, in February 1998 he began UndergroundHipHop.com. Since then, UndergroundHipHop.com has become the #1 source on the Internet for underground hip hop. The site is currently receiving over 40,000 visitors EVERY DAY and has over 55,000 people on the mailing list (both of these numbers are always on the rise).
