I copped most of the stuff they put out. but honestly this is overrated. some tracks are boring as hell. some of the beats could have been better looking at the list of all the producers on this joint.. dont just give 5 stars because its underround hip hop. this is just aight. I even prefer the helpless dreamer than this one. |

Comment: Even though u can't really call this an actual album, this is and will be THE best hip hop compilation of 2012. Mello Music are on top right now and thanks to the likes of Oddisee (who has since become my favorite producer), Apollo Brown, Gensu Dean, they have created a modern hip hop classic, the MC's are mostly on top as well but it's all about the beats here, especially from Oddisee, maaaan his beats are on another level, he has to be the best pioneer of the modern real hip hop evolution in sound progress, along with Kno of CunninLynguists. So far I got this as best compilation and best album so far.... errrm... that goes to Planet Asia with Black Belt Theatre. 2012 is shaping up to be yet another successful year for real hip hop. If only most of their fans weren't broke like me, i'd be copping every album. This is gonna be my first purchase though. peace |
