Product Details

2011 EP from the Hip Hop duo. One of the most prolific and original groups in hip hop, the infamous Mobb Deep are still a very active and significant rap outfit in today's music scene. Hailing from the rough streets of the Queensbridge neighborhood of Queens, NY, the duo has been responsible for delivering some of the most popular and forever current classic anthems in rap music. Tracks like 'Survival Of The Fittest', 'Shook Ones Part II' and 'Quiet Storm RMX' have remained significant throughout the years and still rock crowds from NY to Tokyo. After almost two decades in the business, Mobb Deep have most definitely graduated to 'cult group' status. They are being embraced by a new wave of cutting edge music listeners while still being supported by the original core of hip hop aficionados.

Comment: fucking up sales? mobb deep did it to themselves releasing wack shit over the years. this is another piece of wack shit. this crap didn't sell because even the most loyal mobb fans know its weak. quit lying to yourselves. havoc is a complete bum at this point, his beats are garbage, he lost confidence in them so opened beat duties up to bums, he sounds terrible on the mic, has no quotables, he brings nothing to the table. prodigy has some lines here and there, but he's still rapping in slow motion like he's recovering from severe head trauma. it's actually unbelievable how bad these guys fell off. nas sounds awful, nas has been a washed up shell of himself, going on 10 years now. he also appears to be brain dead, releasing wack albums with bob marley's half white, hack of a son. hip hop music is terrible these days, new acts are pathetic, and the old heads all stick around way too long and fuck their name up dropping a ton of weak shit. after revisiting this EP it's even worse than I remembered. go away mobb deep, your shit is tired.

Comment: Ben says, "dope music"?? LMFAO!! I don't think so, homie. Some people just don't have good taste in music. I'm a fan of MOBB's classics but pretty much everything after "Murda Muzik" is garbage. It's 2012 and I'm still diggin' for rare back in the day gems that I may have missed. As far as I'm concerned, real hip hop died long ago.

Comment: the first and last song are the best but the hook on the black cocaine is wack as shit, needs some cuts or change that shit and would be vicious with that beat. the other tracks are okay but not really comparable to their classics. once again legends lower the bar

Comment: As much joints these cats have put out over the years, one half ass LP and all of a sudden we should stop checking for the Mobb? All those street anthems they made, the answering disses from both Jigga and 2Pac, even the songs considered club y'all wanna diss??? I swear this new rap shit is fuckin' up alot of peoples train of thought. I'll say this about that lp, its not great but who respect like the Mobb do? Hopefully when their real album drops next year you poser ass fans will remember what you said about how they should retire. Meanwhile all these whack ass rappers are selling millions for nothing....

Hav and P used to have so much style back in the days. The fuck happened!? Also, these dudes can't make good videos anymore either. You'll know what I mean if you see the terrible "Dead Man Shoes" vid.

Comment: WTF!! Happened 2 mobb deep kid. The only tracks I was actually feelin' was "conquer" & "get it forever" w/nas. I also agree with other reviewers as well that after "murda muzic" they fell off big time even though I always thought that when they would come back they would "drop" a banger but I just lost my "faith" on 'em str8 up. 2 me both "infamous(95) & "hell on earth(96) are CLASSICS!! "juvenile hell(93) is near classic & "murda muzik(99) is dope but it went "DOWNHILL" after that str8 up.

Comment: @MyGlock, I couldn't agree more. They're trying to blend the old Mobb Deep sound with the sound of the current and it just doesn't work. They need to hit the lab and come back with that recorded in a dirty basement gritty sound that made them who they are.

Comment: Not a good EP by any means. The beats are wack, Hav and P sound mediocre at best and the price is outrageous. I think it's safe to say that Mobb Deep should retire. They should have retired after they dropped the terrible "Infamy" album back in 2001.

Comment: shit is TRASH. mobb deep fell the fuck off. havoc's one beat sucks. alc beats suck on this. havoc doesn't spit one dope bar, and prodigy's flow/delivery has hit an all time low. so sad. mobb deep fell off worse than just about anyone. still working, but this shit is a failure. even the track with nas. boring beat, boring verses. nas sounds washed up. mobb deep is definitely washed up. first mobb deep project in stores in what, 5 years? and it sucks. free agents mixtape destroys this crap. not checkin for anything mobb deep ever again. my favorite group, finished.

Comment: I've been a Mobb Deep fan for years and even though I feared the worst when they signed to G-Unit and I strayed away from them after hearing the 1st single they released with 50 while they were there, I'm not above giving this a listen to see if it's worth buying. I'm also glad to see it's being released on their own label (hopefully that means no more G-Unit collabos... ever). My problem... $9.97 for 5 tracks? I think $2-$3 less would be more suitable for the amount of material being offered.

Comment: they're really trying to sell 5 songs? the joint with bounty killa is trash. prodigy sucks on that joint, bad. one of his worst verses ever. mobb deep can still be dope but they're clueless. no one wants an EP, and no one is going to buy this. they want an LP produced by havoc, alc, and sid roams. been away for years and they come back with an EP. out of it. mobb never used to drop weak shit, everything banged. since infamy, mobb deep has dropped a fair amount of weak shit. this looks like weak shit, single sucked. we'll see.

Comment: 5 tracks isn't uncommon for an EP. The real album is comin out next year I guess. But I'm a Mobb fan for life, and they always get respect from me regardless of how much they changed/suck/fell off. They changed the game. Though, people do shift directions from time to time...they just have a different vision of the shit they want to make. I don't really like or agree with it, but it is what it is. The fuck can we do, but buy it or don't buy it? Talk crazy faggot shit on YouTube? Send the nigggas hate mail? That shit don't matter in the long bill. All we can do is accept the releases for what they are, and keep it moving. If you don't like what Mobb Deep puts out, shut the fuck up, throw on The Infamous, or Hell On Earth, and play that.

Comment: Damn love or loyalty for hip-hop artist or their music at all (laughin'). I don't know how some of you dudes can out a hip-hop artist/group/crew/whatever because you didn't get excited about a certain album. Man the Mobb is always gon' get respect from me cause of the shit they gave to hip-hop music. All you dudes sayin' they suck now or they should retire...yo ya'll wasn't hollerin' that shit when The Infamous came out and for the record the Mobb had bangin' ass music when they were with Loud records and even when they went with 50's club music makin' ass. Every album they made had some dope shit on it. Point is it's funny how some of you guys know the Mobb history and catalog but still wanna diss...I'm glad I aint a hip-hop artist cause with fans like some of you dudes who hate like a mafucka who needs enemies or fake ass!
