Comment: On of the few albums in the last 5 years that deserves a perfect 5 star rating. The best Mos Def album, beats are un-touchable. Get a copy if you haven't heard it yet, it's really dope.

Comment: Mos hasn't had a good album since Black on Both Sides. This one is just gay. The beats are weak and the lyrics are weaker. Make room for emcees with real talent. Stop putting out garbage ass albums n*gga.

Comment: This album is the only album capable of pulling me away from Black on Both sides, although it is not as good as BOBS it is still the Hottest HIP-HOP Album I heard since the classic Black On Both Sides Album. Mos Def is a Hip-Hop Monster period.

Comment: A generally tight effort. No where near as good as the classic debut 'Black on both sides' but more dope than 'The new danger' and more creative than 'True magic' even though I liked all those joints.

Comment: Actually interesting comment: The picture Mos' art director (or he) ripped for the album cover is a screenshot from the film "Killer Of Sheep." The backside has no relation. Music is aiight... Mos is just tired tho. Nigga should stick to perfecting one craft.

Comment: I agree the beats are just too weak on this shit. Mos has passion and can always spit, but damn I can't listen to wack beats. He is trying to do something different, but it aint working. He hasn't had good production since his classic 3rd album. Maybe he needs to relax on making movies and try to come back because hip-hop at a side, or part-time job man...

Comment: The album is tight. Its a new experience in flows, and beats. Similar like when Ghostface was experimenting with his albums. The ones of you on this board giving him low ratings something wrong with yall. Rarely I had to fast forward a song in my ride. Theres other CDs out there where I have to fast forward maybe 3-5 times. Whats cool is the 5-18 year olds who know little of traditional Hip Hop can enjoy this CD.

Comment: well this is no follow up to black on both sides.. but if youve paid attention to his career u know da brother is experimenting with ideas. this seem like the album he was has been trying to make.. finally he pulled it off. abstract mixture of somewhat Indian inspired melodies mixed with mos def graphix lyrical diversity. mos is more mos than before he lets u in and u completely grasp the brother is an abstract individual with an eccentric taste for sound. if you dont like this album leave mos def behind cause this is the artist hes grown to be.. for better or worse.. lets keep the game diverse and let mos bring us more shit like this.

Comment: This album is very incomplete if you listen to it..... The best production is done by Madlib... There is 6 cool songs out of 16, that's not a good ratio....Lyrically he did his thing & changed his flow but the boards needed some real help... To be honest with so many great producers no underground album should be lacking in production... I want to support a great artist but the product is just average... Best jawns are Casa Bey, History, Pistola, Revelations, workers comp & Auditorium...

Comment: Mos Def is one of my favorite emcees of all time, however the production on here is strait wack, I don't know why he just won't pair up with some of the best underground producers out there that would compliment his style like, 9th wonder, 88 keys, black milk, Hi Tek, Jake One, Slakah, and such. I've heard better beats by no names off of myspace.

Prod is soundscape lovely, the cover is in.taking ... Fine work to add to this incredy pool of '09 a year in hip Hop to go down as a great

Comment: Get it if you like emcess with sharp talent and some balls to make some art. Mos still gots the same skills, some of the production is a little off for me, but I heard 9th is a dick to work with and charges a whole lot. He's a dope producer though. Workers comp. This is nice work, and good to listen to for the most part. Especially Auditorium.
