Nature first came to the world's attention in the mid-90s doing intros for DJ Clue's mixtapes, solo and alongside early mentor/rival Nas, and his notoriety peaked with his collaborations with Nas, AZ & Foxy Brown as The Firm, although ongoing collaborations and associations with Tragedy Khadafi, Mobb Deep, Cormega, Capone & Noreaga have kept his fanbase aware of his presense in the game. He returns to the arena with "Pain Killer", a lethal injection to the stale state of Hip Hop in 2008, a seamless sequence of deft lyrical deliveries over innovative beats. His debut on Columbia "For All Seasons" is considered a classic by many Rap fans, alongside "Illmatic", "Ready to Die" and "Reasonable Doubt", as one of those early '90s full lengths that succeeds start to finish. This new album, evidence that Nature has not been growing stale since his last release, is a showcase of today's up-and-coming beatmakers, anchored by more seasoned producers Dub Sonata and Scram Jones. Nature's confidence is evident by his sparing use of guests that compliment his style; N.O.R.E., Prodigy, Doo Wop and Kool G Rap each provide a verse here or there, as well as a rare microphone appearance by board man Scram Jones himself. The effect is a return to "Illmatic" - era albums, with the focus being the emcee, rather than the crew, and it's a quality listen.

Comment: Dope album, another reason why Nature's still got it. This dude needs to be more consistant, but at least when he does drop its quality music. Despite a few older tracks this cd is a gem, it'll grow on you. There's a few weak tracks, but the majority of them aren't skips. Give it a solid listen and you'll enjoy it.

Comment: I give this LP a 3.5. There are a couple garbage song. All in all, its a solid album. If you liked "For All Seasons", You should like this. Did Soul Unique really call Nature an "up and coming rhyme sayer"? Pretty sure he's been out since 95-96 numbnuts!

Comment: Has about 6 hot tracks. But other songs wack due to suspect beats or suspect hooks, or run of the mill lyrics. Nowhere near Nature in his prime ie his first solo album or on tracks like the foulness "stay on some gat shyt peep the firms top draft pick collapsing on the opposition, soldiers is captured.....24/7 the same shyt another customer posing as a decoy partner kinda muscular ....caught hoppin out a corsica" Now that's the Nature I know!!

Comment: I think this makes 3 garbage albums now, so I ask why continue on? Nature always had great guest appearances on other emcees albums but NEVER could hold his own on the solo tip.
