By: Trees If you've managed to snag tickets to the El-P / Dizzee Rascal tour that's happening right now, you better get your hands on El-P's digipak sequel to the weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamix. El-P explained the deal in a recent blog: "this is the double cd digipack mixtape i made. ive only done one before. i am pressing 500. you can buy it on tour. only. so thats that story". Worth the price of the ticket itself? Ebay probably thinks so.
By: Mark DiSalvo The formula has been written for a long time: big platinum selling artist drops an album at the start of the summer, and goes on tour to support the record (i.e.: recoup the losses that come with being in the industry). Well, add Lil Wayne to the self-fufilling prophecy of the major label recording artist. If you were hoping Weezy would hit the stage with G-Unit, like many reports had indicated, you're shit outta luck. You'll have to go to the Bay area and talk to Keyshia Cole. Weezy told MTV today that he wants to tour with Keyshia Cole, because, "I think a concert should be like listening to the radio. When you listen to the radio, and your top-five or top-eight songs come on, it's hip-hop, it's R&B. ... I think you gonna get that from me and Keyshia and whatever in between that." If by the radio, I hope Weezy doesn't mean playing the same song every 45 minutes. I mean, Lollipop is a hit and all, but hearing it multiple times at a show may be overkill, Wayne.
By: Mark DiSalvo The J-Hood/D-Block beef looks like it may be in its dying days after J-Hood has come out and apologized to D-Block. Late last year, J-Hood appeared on a video on YouTube in which he dragged his D-Block chain across the ground and protested how he felt the group slighted him and kept him out of the game. The group later said J-Hood was no longer a member. In a letter released to the public today, J apologized to the fans who he said were unintentionally brought into this and that he "will eternally be appreciative to The L.O.X. for giving me an opportunity to be heard period, point blank." He said that he couldn't keep living knowing that he represented something false, and that he wasn't being compensated adequately for it.
Is every crew in New York beefin' these days? At least this is potentially one less now.
By: Mark DiSalvo It's not often this man get's brought up in UGHH News - but we figured it was kinda newsworthy in a funny sort of way. When you wear a chain around your neck that's worth a couple thousand dollars, I guess this is the risk you take. Here's footage of 50 Cent getting his chain snatched off his neck during a show in Angola. Reportedly, 50 and G-Unit went to visit a platinum mine in Johannesburg too. Imagine explaining a lost chain to the workers there...

Free Shows By Scion w/ Too $hort, DJ Eleven, Connie Price & The Keystones
5/2/08
DJ Eleven
By: Mark DiSalvo Scion has been hosting a series of concerts that have oddly gone far under the radar (yes, Scion, the car company that makes that box car). However, we're happy to be bringing you some dates in time for their upcoming stops. Too Short, DJ Eleven, and funk group Connie Price and the Keystones, will be doing a series of free shows in the Midwest late this May in the cities below.
The only way to gain access to these free shows is by RSVPing to Scion at their website (www.scion.com/livemetro). Last month's shows featured EPMD as the headliner and went over well enough to secure Too Short as May's main act. So to all of the Midwest's heads, don't sleep on these shows. Maybe by the time they bring the tour out to the East or West Coast(s) they'll have an Eric B and Rakim reunion.

By: Mark DiSalvo Uh oh, producer beef war! Well, not really, but Pete Rock recently responded to comments made by Kanye West about Kanye's willingness to sample drums from producers like Pete Rock. The Chocolate Boy Wonder responded, and told UnKut.com, "I believe it! I hear my snares out there, and I'm like, "Wow, that's fuckin' crazy, man! I feel like that's lazy shit." He didn't stop there though and said, "You obviously don't love it as much as I do, because for you to not go out there and find it on your own.. you'll find so much if you just take the time out to go dig, man." Rock never mentioned Kanye in his answer however. Some like to say Kanye is the heir to Pete Rock. Don't leaders have to like their disciples though? These sample arguments are starting to get old...
