| Nas & Jay-Z Break Bread | 10/28/05 |
| | By: VanStylez Jay-Z and Nas officially put beef to bread at the Continental Airlines Arena in New Jeruse yesterday. What really happened if you think about it? Hova swindled mad people into comin' to a show he dubbed "I Declare War" yet instead of airing it out, next thing you know him and Nas are on stage waiving the white flag. So basically the beef got squashed while thousands of concert goers expecting the blue steal to bite, blew bucks on a bogus battle. Nevertheless, Jay-Z & Nas performing Dead Presidents together is certainly worthy of a few DPs of my own, and I also suppose a little U.N.I.T.Y. doesn't hurt every once in a hot minute.

| It Ain't Easy Being Jeezy | 10/27/05 |
| | By: VanStylez The snowman has been holding out on his young one. It wasn't enough for Young Jeezy to pick the scab of the music industry and assert himself as an additional scar on the face of mainstream music, he has also managed to piss off his baby's mama, the courts, and very possibly his nine year old child for not upping his child support based on increased earnings since 2001. As owner of the record label Corporate Thugz Entertainment and a diamond studded "snowman" pendant, along with a certified platinum album "Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101," Jeez has been petitioned by his baby momma's lawyer to turn over $20,000 in clothes, transportation, and housing for his flesh and blood. He has also been ordered by the court to turn over his bank statements in an attempt to determine just how much he owes. Jeezy: heartless bastard or victim of weekend pussy baby mama drama, you decide. | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| The Game Heads East | 10/27/05 |
| | By: VanStylez I am genuinely concerned for The Game as he begins recording his sophmore album "The Doctor's Advocate" at the recently erected Black Wall Street Studio in Atlantic City, New Jerz. While The Games's original BWS headquarters still stands strong in his former South Central stomping grounds, the loss of material risk that accompanies replacing rival gang fire with shoreside slot machines and retirees could prove fatal for the gangsta rap rookie's career. Furthermore, how we gonna continue with a west coast resurrection when our star player is working out of America's armpit?

| Bomshot Fires Verbal Shots At Jus Allah | 10/26/05 |
| | By: Trees If you've ever been to a Bomshot show, you know that his verbal darts are as lethal as any physical weapon. From publicly dissing almost every popular Boston MC on stage, to pleading insanity to beat an armed robbery charge, to strong arming a popular independent record label right out of business, the man is no stranger to controversy. Consistently talked about in both positive and negative light, the up and coming beantown terror has unleashed a new firestorm of controversy with the release of his latest mixtape, ‘Kill ‘Em All: The Worst Of Bomshot Vol. 1'. Topics on the mixtape range from religious and political views to physical threats of violence, and of course the most talked about joint on the CD, ‘False Gods' the infamous Jus Allah diss track. Bomshot recently appeared on Jus Allah's debut album, ‘All Fates Have Changed', and even let the Philly MC pull a Biggie Smalls and crash on his couch for an extended period while he was staying in Boston to record the album. The new mixtape, which is currently only available online at UGHH.com, also features GZA, Agallah, Slaine, Edan, and Virtuoso. | Astro's can't hit homerun over the Paul Wall | 10/26/05 |
| | By: VanStylez Who's got the biggest bat? The Houston Astros that's who. And even your momma's favorite platinum grilled gringo from the Swisha House is here to remind you that Houston's finest lumber hustlers have been dropping the steamiest hot carls on every other team to take to the diamond with their first world series appearance. Paul Wall hit a homerun with a remix of "They Don't Know," while rival rapper Chamillionaire steps up to the plate with another Astro anthem "Turn It Up." Both these tracks have been getting ample play in the Houston area, including during Game 3 against the Chicago White Sox. All I know is that when you've got hip-hop replacing good ol' country music as the soundtrack for a game as American as cherry-topped apple pie, it's a sign that times are changing for the better. Once we see Clemens sporting some platinum fronts we'll know the hip hop assimilation has come full circle.

| Termanology Makes The Sources Unsigned Hype Column | 10/26/05 |
| | By: Trees With a recent track record for shitting on quality underground hip hop acts and instead giving shine to dime-a-dozen southern crunk'd out dough boys and new york floss rap, it's nice to see that someone over at The Source still has an ear for HQ hip hop. The Source's Unsigned Hype column, once considered the most coveted press an independent MC could receive, recently bestowed Beantown native Termanology with the honor of being this month's feature. Real hip hop heads have known about him for a minute, and now the whole world has got the name Termanology on their radar. Past graduates of the Unsigned Hype column include, Eminem, Notorious B.I.G., Mobb Deep, Noreaga, Immortal Technique, and DMX. This of course is a huge step for the MC who has already made huge waves with his LPs, 'Hood Politics I & II'. Big ups to Termanology!

| Hip Hop History Tour | 10/26/05 |
| | By: Trees In a society where hip hop radio airwaves are plagued with tales of gunplay, drug use, and the objectification of women, it is often refreshing when a movement is launched to educate the masses about the true nature of hip hop and it's history. Focusing on the four elements of the culture, the Hip Hop History Tour boasts an impressive lineup of artists and pioneers including Afrika Bambaataa, Kool Herc, GrandMaster Flash, GrandMaster Caz, and The Original Jazzy Jay. Also included in the tour is the first turntablist to receive a Grammy, GrandMixer DXT and one of graffiti's most prominent writer's PHASE 2. Look for the tour coming soon in a city near you. | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| | By: Shadeed Veteran MC Common has dropped off the Touch the Sky Tour, an effort spanning 47 cities across the country headlined by Kanye West. He was previously on the tour supporting his sixth studio album "Be", but reportedly dropped off the tour due to landing a role in an upcoming movie project. "Be" marked the return of the street corner lyricism, poetry, and social awareness that made Common a household name in 1992 with his debut "Can I Borrow A Dollar. Common has recently released a cinematic video for his third single "Testify", and has been featured in the "Knowing is Beautiful" HIV/AIDS Awareness campaign. | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| Fugees Return To Form | 10/17/05 |
| | By: Shadeed Hip Hop supergroup The Fugees recently dropped the new single "Take It Easy", for the millions of fans hungry for a follow-up to 'The Score'. Their third studio album will be the return to the sound of their earlier recordings when they were known as the Tranzlator Crew. "It's like we're going back to the core of where we come from", Wyclef Jean stated. The trio has embarked on a marathon of recording sessions for the upcoming album. | Loki Da Trixta Drops New Video | 10/12/05 |
| | By: Trees The man is keeping it ghetto. By borrowing equipment and calling in a few favors, Loki Da Trixta was able to pull off a top notch video shoot on a shoestring budget. Long Island b-boys, out of the Floor Vandals crew, laced the footage which was shot for Loki's song 'High Five'. Locations were carefully selected to rep the music's content to the fullest. Says Loki, "We chose Flushing Meadows Park in Queens for a few reasons. Obviously the globe is a reference to Geography, the album title, as well as a location of many classic hip hop videos, Main Source's 'Looking at the Front Door', Tribe's 'Award Tour', and of course the Craig Mack 'Flava in Your Ear' video. We also shot in front of the Brooklyn Museum, at the Mark Ecko street fair/graf expo earlier this year, and at the 5 Pointz grafitti center". The video is available to view @ DeepThinka.com.
