| Cesar Comanche, Rap Mogul? | 11/30/06 |
| | By: The Dance Cesar Comanche of the Justus League (Little Brother, Joe Scudda, L.E.G.A.C.Y., Khrysis, Median) is showing more of his entrepreneurial side theses days (good call, I know you don't want to hear him rap anymore based on his CD sales) with the launch of his company True School Corporation, LLC. According to the company's MySpace page it exists in order to celebrate the cultural, cinematic, and musical achievements of the years 1980-1995, which, they claim, are ignored by mass media. "Every aspect of mass media is for the "Tom Joyner" generation (ages 40+) or the 106 and Park Generation (ages 21 and under). It is time for the "spike lee/house party/different world/new jack city" generation to stake our claim in the marketplace, by observing the accomplishments and the culture impact OUR generation." The typos are theirs by the way. Good luck to Cesar with his new business venture; I have one word of advice to aid with future success… proof-read.

| Bun B Boasts Boycott of BET | 11/30/06 |
| | By: The Dance Rapper Bun B put up a bulletin on his myspace page last week urging his fans to not watch BET for a week because the UGK portion of Jay-Z's performance on 106 & Park was cut. The bulletin says "BET cut this [the performance] out of the Jay-Z show, if everybody in the South would stop watching BET for a week they will see how strong we are down here. Let's show them hoes up there how strong we are down here. If you are a true fan please do not tune into BET at all for at least a week." I have to be honest, I'm not a true fan of Bun B or UGK, but me + steel reserve + Bun B's "Trill"= a good ass time. Either way, I don't watch BET, so I guess I'm supporting the movement. | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| Rugged Man Got His Gal | 11/30/06 |

It looks like he found a girl to wear a sex mask (see previous news update from Trees below) because now he's looking for a wardrobe/stylist for a feature film that begins shooting very soon. If you're the person who wants to make sure R.A. has the hottest Kanye-style handkerchief dangling from his neck for his upcoming movie appearance then you should hit up the rugged man himself on Myspace. | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| Say Hellow To Polow | 11/30/06 |
| | By: The Dance You heard it here first, Polow Da Don will be the next producer to blow up. Let's overlook the fact that he bit his name from DJ Polo of Kool G Rap fame and realize that he's the man behind Ludacris' "Pimpin all over the World", Fergie's "London Bridge", The Pussycat Dolls' "Buttons", Kelis' "Blindfold Me", and Ciara's "Promise." He even produced "Throw Some Dees" by Rich Boy who has been near and dear to the hearts of the UGHH staffers ever since he made an impromptu visit to the retail store wearing a bright gold jacket…because he's rich, boy. But yeah, Polow is pretty ill, so look out for him to be on some Timbo/ Pharrell status in '07. | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| Fiddy One Step Closer To Finally Becoming Ja Rule | 11/30/06 |
| | By: The Dance R&B producer Rich Harrison (Amerie "One Thing", Beyonce "Crazy in Love" among others) is delving into the world of hip hop, and who else would accept him into that world with open arms but the jaw-inhibited rapper himself, 50 Cent. 50 has enlisted the help of Harrison for his next album and Harrison is up for the challenge. So look out for 50's next single featuring a skillfully looped and replayed Meters' sample cooked up by Rich. I know I'm excited. | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| | By: Trees No one delivers like Ghostface, and if you're a fan of his (who isn't?) you're probably already up on the fact that Tony Starks is dropping another album this year. That's right, 12/12 marks the date More Fish hits store shelves.
The album is an underground hip hop fan's audible fantasy as the LP features Ghostface spewing shaolin sword techniques over instrumentals from Madlib, M.F. DOOM, Pete Rock and Hi-Tek. Guest appearances include Redman, Sheek (D-Block), and of course the Theodore Unit, but "More Fish" also introduces the world to Ghostface's son, Sun God. If you watched the DVD that came with the Trife CD earlier this year, you already know the kid's got heat (who could forget Ghost welcoming his son to the stage, "That n**** came from my balls").
While many in hip-hop mourn the passing of the glory days, More Fish is another classic album from one of the genre's true legends, and one of its greatest talents. But for Tony Starks, it appears easy - like shooting fish in a barrel.

| Raekwon OB4CL2 Press Release | 11/27/06 |
| | By: Trees Reprinted directly from Raekwon's Official MySpace Blog:
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II will be the fourth studio album from Wu-Tang Clan rap artist Raekwon. It will serve as a sequel to Raekwon's 1995 album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, and is to feature Wu-Tang members GZA and Inspectah Deck almost exclusively. Some tracks are the result of several LA studio sessions originally aimed towards creating a new Clan album.
The album is to be released as a joint venture between Wu-Tang and Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. Producers are set to include RZA, Dr. Dre, Scram Jones, and J Dilla. Nas and Fat Joe have been approached about guest appearances, and Busta Rhymes (who is, informally, co-executive producing the project) will probably be on the album as well. Red Hot Chili Peppers' guitarist, John Frusciante is also said to have played guitar on a few joints for this album - and along with a few other RZA beats, in general.
Similar to the first Cuban Linx album, "OB4CLII" will be set up in a cinematic fashion, with skits loosely tying each song together in a sort of storyline, and each rapper playing an implied "persona" of sorts; for instance, Raekwon being the main protagonist, with GZA and Inspectah Deck playing "supporting roles" throughout.
Tracks that are confirmed are the RZA-produced "Secret Indictment," which will be the second single off of the album (after "State of Grace"), "House Of Flying Daggers" produced by J Dilla, "Kareem Khan" featuring GZA, produced by RZA and Justice (GZA's son), a Raekwon solo produced by RZA: "Thug World", "Rock Stars and Smoking Barrels" featuring GZA and Inspectah Deck "No Matter How Hard You Try" is another RZA produced track and features Inspectah Deck and finally a track produced by Dr. Dre featuring RZA and Busta Rhymes. The main sidekick in "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx", Ghostface Killah is rumored to be appearing on three of the tracks.
In a recent interview with MTV Europe, Raekwon said the album was about 96% complete and it's in the sequencing process. The first single off of the album is "State of Grace," produced by RZA, and already has a remix featuring Busta Rhymes.
Other rumors include the color purple being included on the album cover to pay homage to the purple cassette that the first Only Built 4 Cuban Linx came out on. According to RZA, the whole Wu-Tang Clan has been confirmed for appearances and at least three Dre beats are favorite picks for the album.
Most recently, it was announced on the Wu-Tang Corp. website that Raekwon's management has stated that the album is about done and the production is credited to Dr. Dre and RZA equally.

| Can I See Some I-Dee? | 11/27/06 |
| | By: Trees The Miami DJ scene is far from weak. For years it's been the go-to U.S. destination for party rocking and excess, thus producing some of the nation's finest and most talented turntablists. With his recent signing to the Miami based Premiere Artist Group, it's time to add another to the mix. Say hello to I-Dee.
Fresh off victories at both Scribble Jam and the Gong Battle DJ World Championship, I-Dee has elevated himself to international acclaim and the kid ain't even old enough to drink legally. He has been spotlighted in The Washington Post, Teen Vogue Magazine, Remix Magazine, and Scratch Magazine. Danish brand Ortofon recently featured I-Dee in their Summer/Fall DJ News magazine, calling him "one of the most dominating young turntablists the US has ever produced."
Following up on his popular self-titled mix tape, I-Dee has announced that he will be releasing his highly anticipated new album on February 5, 2007, and will be embarking on a world tour in support of the album in early 2007. Check for kid.

Dropping on Napalm Recordings, Pachino declares "Rice & Beanz" to be his "best work to date". | New Flick Excites The Writers | 11/27/06 |
| | By: Trees We take care of our UGHH Newsletter subscribers. To date we've given out autographed Lupe Fiasco Skateboards, Xbox and PS2 games, countless autographed CDs, clothes, concert tickets, and boxes of memorabilia- and that's just scratching the surface.
The next issue of the UGHH Newsletter will feature a contest to win a brand new DVD titled, PIECE BY PIECE. This DVD is a graffiti documentary that's been called the west coast version of Style Wars. It was shot by 19-year-old (and former graffiti artist) Nic Hill. The film deals with the subculture of graffiti, but also the impact of hip-hop on graffiti and vice-versa. Q-Bert, D-Styles, and P.U.T.S. are among the artists who've laced the score to the flick, and they all actually donated their music in support of what Nic did with the film. The packaging for film is sick (bonus features include a 30 minute slide show with over 500 graffiti photos, and a 50 page booklet with interviews and photos -- it's essentially a coffee table book with the DVD.)
Join the newsletter (on the front page of UGHH) for information on how to WIN this incredible cinematic experience. And for more information on the film itself, please hit: piecebypiecemovie.com

| Rhettmatic Announces DJ Khalil's Production Will Grace Kingdom Come | 11/8/06 |
| | By: Trees Well.. here's one for the X-Files, or Unsolved Mysteries, or maybe I shouldn't even put this on blast category. The official tracklisting for Jay-Z's Kingdom Come LP dropped yesterday and surprise-surprise the album is laced with Dr. Dre beats. (UGHH.com was the first to break this story WAAAAYYY back in January- peep the resume) Anyway, while the tracklisting was announced I quickly scanned down the listing and noticed no beats by DJ Khalil (of Self Scientific). Now I was confused. Earlier yesterday I had read a MySpace blog from Rhettmatic stating the west coast beatsmith had contributed a track for the LP. What gives?
Here is an excerpt from Rhettmatic's blog: "He (Khalil) told me the story when Dre called him personally about his beat. Jay-Z wanted a beat Khalil had produced that was originally for Dre on the Detox album....YES, the Detox album is coming out. Khalil also said that Jay-Z was doing a lot of ghostwriting for Dre as well as listening to beats from Dre and the Aftermath staff. When Jay heard Khalil's beat...he told Dre that he had to have it......Dre refused at first, cause he really loved the beat, but after 2 weeks of Jay buggin him, he decided to give it to Jay. Next thing you know, Jay finished droppin his lyrics last Friday, Dre does the final mix on this past Monday, then it became official yesterday afternoon.....the buzz was sooo big about it, that even The Alchemist heard about the news."
Here is the latest official "Kingdom Come" tracklisting (Producers Included)
1. Prelude (Ghettobot) 2. Oh My God (Just Blaze) 3. Kingdom Come (Just Blaze) 4. Show Me What You Got (Just Blaze) 5. Lost One f.Chrisette Michele (Dr. Dre) 6. Do You Wanna Ride f.John Legend (Kanye West) 7. 30 Something (Dr. Dre) 8. I Made It (Dr. Dre) 9. Anything f.Usher & Pharrell (The Neptunes) 10. Hollywood f.Beyonce (Scyience) 11. Trouble (Dr. Dre) 12. Dig A Hole f.Sterling Simms (Swizz Beatz) 13. Minority Report f.Ne-Yo (Dr. Dre) 14. Beach Chair f.Chris Martin (Chris Martin & Dr. Dre):
If Khalil is not in fact on Kingdome Come, Jay-Z made a big mistake by leaving him off. That's word. | | | | Subscribe RSS |
