| Arrest Made In Connection to Murder Outside Sean Price Show | 12/29/06 |
|  | By: Trees Some of you may remember the UGHH.com sponsored Sean Price // Special Teamz Canadian tour that took place this past November. Well, what many of you did not know was that there was a murder that took place after one of the shows. Sean Price and the members of Special Teamz, as well as UGHH Staff were interviewed for hours in Hamilton, Ontario Canada regarding the homicide. Well, I honestly thought the police would never catch their suspect, but look what I recently discovered on the Reuters news wire;
"A video posted on the ultra-popular Web site YouTube has helped Canadian police find a man they believe responsible for a murder. Police in the Southern Ontario city of Hamilton said on Thursday that they uploaded a one-minute, 12-second clip from a surveillance tape onto the video-sharing YouTube site. The video, which showed suspects arriving at a local nightclub for a Sean Price hip-hop concert, garnered media attention and was viewed more than 30,000 times.
"This is the first time Hamilton police have utilized video web posting in an investigation, and to the best of its knowledge, the first time that law enforcement has ever used it as a direct investigative tool," Staff Sgt. Jorge Lasso told a news conference. George Gallow, 24, of Hamilton, who is seen in the clip wearing a baseball cap with the word "JOKER" on the front, turned himself into police on Tuesday and has been charged with second degree murder and attempted murder. Gallow is accused of stabbing Ryan Milner, 22, and his friend, whom police did not name, in a parking lot after the November concert. Police said Milner died shortly after being stabbed in the chest. His friend is still recovering.
"(There is) little doubt that the extra media generated by the use of YouTube contributed to the fact that this man turned himself in," Lasso said.
Police said they turned to YouTube due to its popularity with young people. Most of the concert-goers were in their late teens or early 20s."

Right now you need to gas yourself for UGHHxclusive vol. 2 dropping early 2007. | 2007 Will Be A Big Year For M.F. DOOM | 12/21/06 |
| | By: Trees 2007 is steady approaching and the Supervillain has some serious servings of dopeness cooking in the ol' iron kitchen.
RhymeSayers is finally re-issuing the out-of print Operation:DOOMSDAY CD/LP. As many of you know the album was forced out-of-print due to legal issues regarding the cover and rumored sample clearance issues. The new version is rumored to be a deluxe edition digipak with additional tracks and a DVD featuring videos and live concert footage. They are also planning on re-issuing DOOM's MM..FOOD CD/LP. Many of you might not even know that this was also pulled from shelves due to sample clearance issues.
Madvillain 2 not seeing an '07 release? Rumors have been circulating that M.F. DOOM and Madlib have yet to connect on any solid studio time for Stones Throw's highly anticipated Madvillain 2 project. From what I've heard through the grapevine, DOOM only turned in one song for the project so far, and it's the joint that was released on the Chrome Children LP this past fall.
Unlike Madvillain 2, The Ghostface/M.F. DOOM project will supposedly see the light of day in 2007. Although the pair have only recorded a handful of tracks together, Ghostface has begun to see this album as a high priority in recent months, noting in some interviews that he knows his fans want this album to be his next.
Madvillain toys? That's right. Kid Robot, known for immortalizing the likes of Biggie Smalls and the Gorillaz in plastic have begun production on their latest creation, the Madvillain 8.5" figurine. Sure to be a highly sought after collectors item, this limited run toy will surely hit you hard in the pockets. But look at it like an investment, EBay kids, EBay.
M.F. DOOM has a special holiday treat for you all. Christmas Eve from 10PM to 6AM the supervillain will be hosting Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. As DOOM explained in the teaser commercials, "Why spend Christmas Eve waiting for some extra fat white dude to come busting through the ceiling, when you can spend Christmas eve with yours truly, DOOM". DOOM will be basically talking in between shows, giving his thoughts on the holiday happenings, and spreading holiday cheer to all who indulge. | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| Get To Know Mix Tape Awards Rookie Of The Year | 12/13/06 |
| | By: Trees Justo's Mixtape Awards didn't go exactly as planned this year, but that didn't stop Jamaica Queens native DJ Superstar Jay from receiving Rookie Of the Year honors the following day, via a telephone call no less. "They called me up on the phone to tell me that I won, since the joint was shut down like three categories in", Jay explained. The ROTY first touched the tables at age 12, and honed his skills under the watchful eyes of Kid Capri, Ron G., and DJ Clue. After a basketball scholarship landed him briefly in college, Superstar Jay realized that maybe the NBA wouldn't be calling as he had thought. His fallback plan would turn out to be his turntable talents. Currently, Superstar Jay has sold more than 50,000 units to date and Jay is the hottest up and coming powerhouse in the mixtape game right now. A large part of his appeal, is his ability to assemble killer rosters including those ever elusive unobtainable artists and deliver quality product. Check for this kid! | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| | By: Trees ?uestlove, drummer for The Roots, is a busy man these days. Besides embarking on a European tour this past month, ?uesto put the finishing touches on the Randy Watson Experience (?uestlove and James Poyser) as well as a new version of Pharrell's recent In My Mind LP. ?uest and Poyser replayed all of the songs with live instruments for Skateboard P and added a few of their own touches to the original album. Pharrell's version was met with both lukewarm reviews and sales. P is no stranger to reworking entire albums from scratch, he did that previously with the first N.E.R.D. album, which was originally all Neptunes standard production (The commercial version featured live instrumentation). Look for the new version in early '07.

| Aesop Rock Reveals Details About New LP | 12/5/06 |
| | By: Trees Gotta love MySpace. Peace to Tom and the Fox Corp. for providing me a direct link to all of my favorite artist's promotional machines. You know Aesop Rock is my friend? Yeah, well he is on MySpace dammit.. and in his latest blog he let me and the rest of his friends in on some details of his new LP, None Shall Pass. Truthfully, I already knew much of this information since running into a stumbling drunk Blockhead in the lower east side during CMJ week. He described AR's new LP as, "ffffuckin… Incredible!". Anyway, here's the details; Beats = 7 by Blockhead, 5 by Aesop Rock, 1 by Rob Sonic, and 1 by El-P. Scratches and cuts all held down by DJ Big Wiz. Guest appearances; El-P, Cage, Camu Tao, Breeze Brewin, & Rob Sonic. Lyrics, (this one had me a little worried) are described as "Folklore Shit". Release date, first half of 2007 bitches. | | By: The Dance Mr. Lif and The Coup had recently begun a tour; however, the remainder of the tour has been canceled because their tour bus CRASHED AND BURST INTO FLAMES! El-P posted the following at defjunkies.com, "The details are still a little fuzzy but I will say first off Lif and everyone are essentially OK. Early this morning about 40 miles off San Diego the bus Lif, Metro, Wiz and the Coup were in flipped and burst into flames. There were varying degrees of injuries but everyone is alive and doing decently. I can't get into too many details but I wanted to let you guys know what's up. Lif and Met have already been discharged from the hospital. Wiz is still in with injuries. Most of the Coup have been discharged. The bus was burnt to a crisp and they lost all merch/equipment/personal belongings etc. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY EVERYONE IS ALIVE. THANK GOD." Good luck recovering to everyone who was involved with the crash, and hopefully insurance will cover the merchandise, equipment, and personal belongings that were lost. | | | | Subscribe RSS |

| Youza Ho.. (HO!) Youza Ho.. (HO!) I Said That Youza (HO!) | 12/5/06 |
| | By: The Dance Alert! A new ho narrative is hitting the streets. Following the lead of Karrine "Superhead" Steffans, Carmen Bryan AKA Nas' baby's mother has a book coming out called "It's No Secret: From Nas to Jay-Z, From Seduction to Scandal- A Hip Hop Helen of Troy Tells All." Personally, I'm a bit confused about his whole "I'm a whore, let me write a book" thing. I mean, just because you poked holes in The N's condom while he was taking a shit doesn't mean that you are special, plenty of people do that; where do you think Dipset fans come from? In all seriousness, this kind of thing just encourages sexual promiscuity by showing young girls that they can make more than $20 for a BJ and $50 for anal by degrading themselves for famous men, then mustering enough strength to string together a few thousand sentences. C'mon ladies, there's no reason to ruin anybody else's life but your own, next time just buy some clear heels (© Chris Rock) and call it a day.
