By: Konsept Konsept, real name Mike, hails from Boston, MA. Growing up Mike had to deal with constantly moving, racism, and poverty. He soon picked up a thirst for Hip-Hop and became an avid writer. During his high school years after a hard time finding the right producer to compliment his style, he self taught himself to produce. His influences for producing were DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Erick Sermon and Q-Tip to name a few. While pursuing education by completing high school and attending college, he has compiled dozens of songs about the life he has led. Many have compared him top such emcees as Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco and Nas. Although given these comparisons he remains immersed in his humility. He has done shows for high schools, talent shows, colleges and clubs. Currently he is finishing his first EP titled And So It Begins. The sampler for this EP can be featured on his page and downloaded on his blog.

He also mentions that without his presence in the group it's not really Re-Up but the Clipse and Ab Liva. Quoted by Sandman himself is his response to the situation, "When you have a movement like the Re-Up Gang, something that came out of nowhere that was turned into a cult following, I just don't see how people dropped the ball on the last project. So it didn't make sense for me to stick around if shit ain't in my best interest."
