Summary"Music that gently triggers a series of images and feelings, none of which you can name and all of which seem entirely common."
- The New Yorker
"This is music that digs deeper... disorienting and strange but also oddly accessible and, ultimately, beautiful."
New Warp signing Oneohtrix Point Never is at the forefront of avant-garde American music. Since his 2011 album Replica, Daniel Lopatin has performed at New York's Museum of Modern Art, New Museum, with David Lang's Orchestra and Saatchi & Saatchi's Cannes New Diorectors' Showcase. Even Antony of Antony and the Johnsons has covered his work.
Outside of his field OPN has composed with Brian Reitzell for Sofia Coppolla's recent film The Blind Ring as well as Kelsey Grammer's HBO series Boss.
His Warp debut, R Plus Seven, features his most forward thinking compositions yet. Drawing from choral work for Saatchi and Doug Aitken's Hirshhorn installation combined with themes of interactive fiction, OPN recored RP7 as a kind of choose-your-own-adventure from his past ambient work and new pop pallete. Along with a relaunch of pointnever.com with constant visual and aural updates from artworld contemporaries, Warp is beginning a long future with this artist in the vein of Artificial Intelligence and early artists like Squarepusher.
