    Summary

Fresh off a month-long tour with former partner-in-rhyme, Chamillionaire, Houston rapper, Paul Wall, is all set to drop his 4th major label album, Heart of a Champion, on June 29th through SwishaHouse/Asylum Records. Almost half of the tracks featured on the album are produced by long-time friend and Expensive Taste band-mate, Travis Barker.

Feature duties for Heart of a Champion include a diverse list of cast members including Jim Jones, Yelawolf and Raekwon, but do not ignore Paul's Houston roots; Bun B, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Devin the Dude and Lil' Keke each get their turn at the mic. Another Houston feature is Johnny Dang aka TV Johnny with whom Paul Wall shares a grills and jewelry business which caters to A-list celebrities and average Joes alike.

The album will also feature several songs from Expensive Taste, the group which includes Skinhead Rob (Transplants) in addition to Paul and Travis. Houston-based production duo, Beanz N Kornbread, are credited with the majority of the tracks not produced by Travis, including lead single "I'm on Patron", a lyrical documentary of a feeling that most of us have experienced and regretted the next day - that of simply having too much fun of the liquid variety. "I'm On Patron" is the perfect accompaniment to that 'blame it on the alcohol' kind of night and sure to be a party staple.

Comment: Picked this up the other day and it's decent. The beats knock in my whip hard. Track 11 is crazy they all go hard on that track and the beat is amazing! Yo Gotti and Bun B came thru for Paul. Decent album for the south but Big Boi's album is still number 1 for me as far as the south albums. Bun B's album is number 2. Go out and get them albums their all worth the mula!

Comment: Respect BALL... But I could fuck wit this Paul Wall album more than just in the club... I could go cruisin down the street with this on blast... Or walkin down the street, head-boppin... And I don't know if you like to blaze up, but "Smoke Everyday" is smooth as hell... I could wake up to a song like "Still On" like every morning, but hey... To each, his own... Your opinion's respected from me. And you know my selections, I love Southern underground music. I would vouch for this all day, over some other "more mainstream" Southern music. The difference is hard to explain in words... Factor in the subject matter and production… And that reminds me... Is UGHH sleepin on that new Bun-B album? "Trill O.G." (pronounced, trilogy) Is that a sleeper or was that a conscious decision to keep it off? I'm not offended, just curious…

Comment: I dare not offer my opinion. This shit is clearly dirty south and I am simply not a fan. I mean it has to smoke and I do not belive this does, but again I re-iterate that I am not a fan of this music. Not a hater, but this genre of music appears to be for the club and the club is not for me. If you love it, you love it, Alas, I... do not.

Comment: Yesssssirrr!! I agree with u J-Aura. Jim Jones is garbage to me besides that this album looks good. Have to get this for sure. That's one of my favorite tracks on the Clipse album with Yo Gotti.

Comment: Much love to this album... Paul Wall brought a descent guest list to the table - Bun Beata!, Slim Thugga!, Alabama's own Yelawolf, Jay ElectHanukkah!, Rae the Chef, sexy azz femcee Kid Sister - and then MINUS some guest appearances - like slow azz Jim Jones and inconsistent MC's like Yo Gotti. Respect though to Yo Gotti for his song "Gangsta Party" and his appearance on the Clipse album Til The Casket Drops. Those joints are SICK! I see Paul Wall startin to evolve a little bit, so I salute the brother...
