Product Details

We Don't Even Live Here is the fourth solo album from Doomtree co-founder, punk philosopher and lyrical bomb-thrower Stefon Alexander, aka P.O.S. It's a tight, bombastic record that builds on the Minneapolis-bred rapper and producer's penchant for grinding beats and radical lyrics. But at the same time, WDELH marks a change -- in sound and in attitude.

Known for welding hip-hop with guitar squalls and screamed vocals, on WDELH P.O.S. steps away from his noisy past in favor of futuristic beats fit for a Berlin nightclub. Though his hip-hop foundation is firm on tracks like the fiery "Fuck Your Stuff" and the funky "Wanted/Wasted," the album brings banging new sounds from dance-oriented collaborators like German DJs Boyz Noise & Housemeister, Gayngs' Ryan Olson, and Innerpartysystem's Patric Russel

Also along for the ride are Bon Iver's Justin Vernon (who lends his shapeshifting vocals to the heartfelt bear-hug of an anthem "Where We Land") and P.O.S.' trusted Doomtree co-conspirators Lazerbeak, Cecil Otter, Mike Mictlan, and Sims. Bringing it all into focus is all-star producer and mix engineer Andrew Dawson (P.O.S.'s former high school classmate), who has worked on platinum releases from the likes of Kanye West, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Fun.

Full color custom 52-page, saddle stitched, comic-zine book with CD pocket. Includes full lyrics and free digital download link to an exclusive condensed version of CrimethInc.'s book Work.

Comment: Doomtree in my eyes is what the radio music wishes it was! I love this album. It's more radio than his previous albums but I wish this type of music was actually what got played in regular rotation. It's not like P.O.S. sold out like Jay Z or Kanye, this is still hip hop!

Comment: yeah its definitely his least great album, that is apparent. however its not bad at all, just not as great, and feels less uniquely POS; its also a lil short, though hes made epic albums before so its kewl to have a concise one here. also dude is battling with crazy health problems so give him a break. my faith in tha god hasn't swayed but I do rock this less than his previous joints

Comment: It's evident that P.O.S. tried to be a little easier to listen to for those that haven't heard his music before. Personally, I still thoroughly enjoyed the album but he strays away from his roots a little bit.

Comment: This album sounds like an attempt to get teenagers lunch money. I was expecting better. Some grown man shit you know. The production is some of the worst I've heard all year. No lyrics can save these songs.

Comment: I been a fan of P.O.S. ever since Ipecac Meat as well as him being part of doomtree. But this album did not cut it for me at all. I guess for we dont even live here, he wanted to expand his horizons in production and choose something more towards the electronic side of music to experiment with but damn, this production was HORRIBLE. reminded me of a newer lupe fiasco album; great lyricism, horrible production to the point all you wanna do is skip the track.

Comment: seems like a bad imitation of a Dirty Digital (Qwazaar/Silence) record. P.O.S. still can't be fucked with when it comes to shootin the gift though. even with mediocre production dude can slice and dice.
