Item Summary
Veteran in the Boston Hip-Hop Scene, rapper REKS teamed up with DJ Statik Selektah to produce his highly anticipated sophomore album Grey Hairs. With production from the legendary DJ Premier and Large Professor, Grey Hairs is guaranteed to be a modern-day classic!

REKS emerged onto the underground hip-hop scene with the critically acclaimed and fan-favorite Along Came the Chosen on Brick/Landspeed Records in 2001. The critically acclaimed LP was nominated for Best Hip-Hop Album & Artist of the Year at The Boston Music Awards and was featured in the Source, XXL, Vibe, and URB's "Next 100". The album's single "Skills 101" reached 45 on the Billboard Singles Chart, putting him on shows and tours with The Clipse, Ghostface Killah, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Redman, De la Soul, Method Man, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Boot Camp Click, JR Writer and one of his idols KRS-One. REKS went on to release the street releases Rekless and Happy Holidays.

REKS is now ready to release his sophomore studio album Grey Hairs. The album is jam-packed with tracks that are both controversial and conscience. The lead-single off the Grey Hairs album is "Say Goodnight" produced by DJ Premier. Another standout is the incredible rap tribute "All In One (5 Mics)" featuring Lil Fame of M.O.P. Appearing on dozens of mixtapes, radio shows, and Statik's Spell My Name Right: The Album, REKS spent most of 2007-2008 in the air, flying back and forth to studio sessions in New York and his current residence in South Florida.

"It's extremely rare nowadays to hear someone as brutally honest as Reks. This album should give hope to many of the hip-hop fans that have yearned for quality" - Statik Selektah

Comment: i only heard the samples of this stuff, but dude is dope. real good production, dude is pretty multidimensional with his lyrical content, which is what u dont hear on the wack-ass radio, and some. this is a good album to buy if you're really into good hip-hop music, particularly underground. as for G001, you gotta be real close-minded to not even like this album even a little bit. "diamonds and clubbing... all that in his pants"; what the hell are you talking about?? does dude have to dress like Pharrell or whoever to get respect?? how could u not care wut a rapper is talkin about?? thas the problem wit kids, they dont kno wut hip-hop is, which (to me) is basically ill beats, dope rhymes, originality, and a few other thangs. soo, if dude had a good flow or wutever and was talkin about bullshit, u'd like him? and yes, like wut other dude was sayin, Preem and the Large Professor would not waste their time and effort into makin beats for dude, Reks in the case, if he was straight wack.

Comment: Look yall if you dont know who reks is (espically the haters here like G001), then I suggest you pick up Along came the chosen and rekless before you show why he is not one the nicest, creative, thoughtful emcees in the game. Besides if he wasnt hot you think Preemo and Large Professor would waste their time making him beats. This album is an instant classic and will be yet another reks album I will bump for life. Big ups to Reks, Statik you showoffs!!!!!!!

Comment: So if someone has a good "technique" or strong "flow" it doesnt matter what they're talking about? As long as its english its all good. No one sounds the same unless they try to, and Reks isnt trying to sound like anyone. YOUR BLOWN. Clearly POLAND doesnt know anything about hip hop.

Comment: man...G001 is talking that Reks technique in rapping is weak in my opinion flow is weak. im not talking about what hes raping about and I dont give a fuck. talking about diamonds & clubbing this guy looks like hes got all of that in his pants. I just think that primo beat is wasted. I rather listen to instrumental than this guy on this beat.

Comment: This album is an instant classic. As if Say Goodnight and Pray For Me weren't enough All In One (5 Mics) is straight bananas. Reks is definitely on his way to become one of the greats. It's refreshing to hear an emcee that keeps it real, and vocally expresses the state of HIP-HOP in an amazing way. Stages is another dope song. Grey Hairs is going to be tough to beat for album of the year. Big ups to Reks and UGHH for preserving the culture, but UGHH y'all gotta stop selling them 50 and Wayne cd's come on man. How ya gonna rep the real and sell some commercial bullshit on your site. I know alot of people like Wayne & 50, but damn this is not the site to sell that junk. You probally be like "Hey it's a business and that's what we do" As for eveyone else if you download this album you will be on your way to purchase it the day it comes out. This album is that good. Keep the real HIP-HOP alive by supporting it. "I think they want the New P.E now, Ice T n*gga with an Attitude now" Fkn Crazy.

Comment: This is gonna be one of the best LP's of the last 10 years. Future Classic shit. I have heard like 5 ,6 joints and all fire. REKS is ill with the lyrics and look at the production credits. I just hope knuckleheads will really support the real shit, instead of sayin how fucked up the game is and then not supporting someone that comes with the real. Off to cop Pre-Order.
