Brick Records is proud to present the REKS & Hazardis Soundz collaborative album 'Eyes Watching God'. This concept album has the duo showcasing a contrast between good and evil beginning with a God side and finishing with a Devil side. The CD artwork features a dual-image cover- showing both the 'good' and 'evil' sides, depending on what angle you view it from. The Massachusetts lyricist linked up with the Queens native in South Florida to complete the album during the past year, and they enlisted N.O.R.E, Saigon, Fredro Starr, Termanology, Ruste Juxx, Dutch Rebelle and others to add to their cause. The result is a highly conscious and fiercely political album.

"Working with Reks on this project has been a great experience. The creative process was organic and effortless. We were in the studio together for every song on the album and it was as simple as me showing Reks a beat and him picking up the pen and writing. Nothing was ever forced. Really proud of this body of work and I'm very excited for the world to hear it." says Haz.

REKS adds, "It felt natural working with Haz. He has a great ear for music and was interested in me trying beats I am not accustomed to spitting on. It helped me diversify myself a bit". The chemistry between the two is evident throughout the album.

Comment: NOT YOU took the words right out of my mouth and inmy opinion, Reks needs to get back with Statik Selektah. He's still a great MC, though.

Comment: Is it me thinking only or do you feel Reks style is preachy now?

Comment: REKS is always killin the mic, Hazardis brought some heat here no question.. Problem is, why do my ears feel, as usual with REKS, that something is missing? I would like to see REKS more heavily political/ pissed off teamed up with some street/ soul producer like Apollo Brown. Nobody did anything wrong, it's a dope release, just doesn't "fit" right. REKS needs more organic production next 'round.. Props either way, still a must cop.

Comment: When I think of Reks, who personally is one of my favorite MC's in the game right now, I think of consistency. He puts out material at a crazy fast rate and you can rest assured it's gonna be dope. I've been riding with my dude since "Along Came The Chosen" and he just kept upping the bar with every release. However, his recent work seems to be slipping a bit. It started with Rebelutionary. Then Revolution Cocktail. Now Eyes Watching God. Lyrically he's focused on relevant sociopolitical issues we face today. His lyrics are sharp and pertinent. No complaints there. The problem...there are several. While I like the 1 producer/1 MC concept, Hazardis Soundz shouldn't have been it. The beats are digitally manufactured tracks with lots of synth and thin sounds. The exact opposite of the quality tracks on arguably Reks' best album, R.E.K.S. The best songs are those released as singles. The rest...ehh. Too many sing-songy hooks and some horrible guest appearances. So, while it's hard to write a mediocre review for one of the best out, he can definitely do better. We've all seen it.

Comment: C'mon, people! 5 stars?!?! You know DAMN WELL, the production is NOT up to par! There are some real good tracks, but this Hazardis Soundz dude isn't good enough, be honest with yourselves! And someone had the nerve to say this is their favorite REKS album. WTF are you smoking?

Comment: I only hope Reks doesn't go political this time, i like street level conscious but when it goes political/social commentary/preachy-conscious or whatever it starts to dry out my interest. I lost interest in Immortal Technique so it only makes sense that i might as well lose interest in Reks as the days go further into the future, political rap is not my taste, it kills the edge a bit in rap for me.

Comment: My favorite Reks release. Outside of a hook or 2 & the verse from Easy Money, pretty much flawless.

Comment: Half way through, he just rips everything apart like usual. But the beats are in par with the raps. Which IMO wasn't the case with his past two. Sick album.

Comment: Yeah, I got faith Reks is going to wreck shop with this one. "Hold your Applause" vocals sounding very good over that classic beat.
