The second installment in the Ruthless Criticism of Everything Existing series, No Wising Up, No Settling Down focuses more on the personal and social aspects of philosophy and class conflict and abandons overtly political songwriting for a more subtle, honest, experimental and poetic approach. Although the album contains pop elements seen in the past few Sole releases, it also harkens back to his classic stream-of-consciousness poetry and noise styles.
No Wising Up, No Settling Down features collaborations with Goldpanda, Sean Bonette of Andrew Jackson Jihad, The Hood Internet & Shapers, Man Mantis, Dosh, Loden, Cars & Trains, Skyrider, Spencertron and Snubluck. A decent chunk of the production is handled by DJ Pain 1, who's produced tracks for Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane and 50 Cent and pushes Sole's Nuclear Winter aesthetic into new, exciting and uncharted territory. Coming mere months after the successful release of A Ruthless Criticism of Everything Existing, this album is a testament to what can be accomplished by truly DIY artists when they own their own time and labor.

Comment: I'm not even hating when I say that Sole needs to quit rapping. It's been well acknowledged that he ran out of material after the first album ( alot of which isn't even his original contents ) . . Seriously Hip-Hop fans need to embrace "different" rap but NOT this garbage.

Comment: pretty disappointing album, Sole has been on a pretty good roll for a while, but he reverted back to a somewhat obnoxious/ pretentious attitude on this album that kinda ruins it. there's definitely some quality on here, but the fact that dude made a kickstarter campaign for this album with songs like 'people piss me off' where he talks shit on his fans who actually funded an album on which he talks shit on them... beautiful irony there. it felt like sole had reached a pretty enlightened attitude on Hello Cruel World but his sneering brat side is a little out of control right now, at least with this effort. regardless, he is truly great MC and hope next effort turns out better.

Comment: Time is one of the best underground MC's. Track 11 is sick because of his lyrics.

Comment: Anything that came out of Soles mouth he probably heard or read somewhere. He doesn't seem to have his own ideas. Stop ripping other peoples art and ideas off Sole! I'd rather listen to Chris Brown. Lol.
