Comment: Can't give this one the five stars b/c it hasn't yet entered my my own mental hall of fame next to Tribe, Nas, Jigga, Dilla, and Little Brother, but these cats from Seattle do have skill. The emphasis is on the word yet in the last sentence, and the more I listen to this record, it's so smooth and bringin just the right amount of intelligence (maybe just a little shy of where kweli's at when he seems like he's startin to reach a little but still rhyming about dialectics and proletarians) that I found myself rarely tiring of it or skipping a track. |
